Hyvät Herrat (A.K.A. Bowling Alley Screens When You Get a Strike) Extended Interpretation

- I decided after working on the restoration of this theme for The Brickster that I'd make an extended version for fun in FL Studio. The intro, minor melody insertions, as well as all improv, are completely original. Enjoy!

Straight up sounds like the kind of god-tier music your brain starts randomly composing when your half asleep... 10/10
The best part is that’s exactly how it was made
your trying to sleep and your brain somehow makes a banger
Wow. I never expected someone to acknoledge this. It's like your brain plays game with you by composing absolute masterpieces at a time you're too damn sleepy to takes notes or even memorize anything.
this is why i often beatbox the best ones of those into my phone's microphone. usually i listen to the recording next morning and it doesn't sound like i expected it to though and i can't quite make out what my original idea was.
I’ve never had an original experience in my life it seems

this makes me feel like a deformity in the ground comes up to a big building and the pillars look at it and then the sphere goes more up and the pillars run away but then the sphere is actually a deformed face but it turns into a normal man but then the man turns into a dollar and another man picks up the $100 bill but he realises he is coffee and a woman drinks it, gets a strange allergic reaction to it and then turns into a black doctor. the doctor puts on his stethoscope and then explodes into marbles and a man sweeps up the crime scene near the big building from before, and since there are no pillars holding it it defies gravity and sinks, though being made of concrete or rock.

@@markify8019 Its a great rendition. I come back to this every so often for a listen. Fine job.
This theme tune gives me such a powerful nostalgic feeling. Man, it really does sound as though it was taken from a super mario 64 soundtrack
I take that as a huge compliment! Thank you!
Gives me Pilotwings 64 vibes
If I remember correctly, a lot of Mario 64 songs used samples from the Korg M1, and I’m pretty sure this does as well! Probably the same (or very similar) presets.
EDIT: I just remembered I have an old Korg professional keyboard, and it has an M1 electric piano preset that is identical to that in this song and Dire Dire Docks.
@@SkyTheHusky2021 that is really interesting. I would of never thought that either song was definitively linked
Guys youre all wrong. Its 100% like a Sonic the Hedgehog Casino Zone theme.
I thought this was the original intro, only to find out you re-mastered/restored the song! You absolutely knocked the ball out the park with this mix sir. I love this! Keep up the fantastic work!
Absolutely, this could have easily passed as full version of the intro/theme song 😄
Thank you so much! Comments like these are what encourage me to keep doing this ❤️
You could do a version with muted horns so it really works as elevator music, then make it loop into itself in a Shorts edit. Not that mankind should have to suffer such folly, but I'm sure you COULD.
Another idea could be an intense FFVII inspired battle track.

This still amazes me! A random bowling alley meme gave someone an inspiration to make a remake of Hyvät Herrat theme song. The original composer does not seem to have the master tape anymore. Good job!
So glad you like it! I tried my best to stay faithful to Jussi Halme’s composing style, hopefully I did it justice with this!
What meme? Never seen it and have no idea what the show or music has anything to do with bowling screens when you get a strike
@@covertgospeltracts4302 To make a long story short, this theme is an extended interpretation of a Finnish TV Show’s intro theme. Hyvat Herrat was a popular Finnish show about politics in the 90’s, and recently, the show’s intro regained popularity online when it was uploaded onto UA-cam with the caption “bowling alley screens when you get a strike”. The whole joke behind the video is that bowling alleys show these weird, badly animated shorts when you get a strike, and the intro to this show is similar to one of those. Hopefully this helps. Also, by explaining the joke I’ve basically made it extremely un-funny, but hey, whatever it takes to get the point across.
The tape was destroyed, the creator didn’t say how.

this is kinda interesting but this really reminds me of the early days of computers, where everything was really experimental, the mainstream was just starting to get their hands on computers and people coming out with all these cool accessories and cases. heck, people were shoving cigarette lighters into towers and calling them great. i unfortunately missed this era (i'm too young lol) and would have loved to lived in a time with cool peripherals, new software and lots of innovations happening and being genuinely exciting. now everything seems so soulless, everyone just wants practical which is understandable but in that we lost an era of experimentation, trial and error, and genuine creativity. the only place i see this happening is in the VR sphere, with various headsets coming out and software being made by everyone, however that's being ruined quickly by facebook making it wanting to be all metaverse and all. i know this is a stupid jingle being extended but it really invokes those feelings for me, idk why
Simply, the power of nostalgia.
I remember in my early childhood though, back in the early 2000s, I saw some really "shitty" looking graphics, mostly from games.
it was simpler times in some ways

It’s a shame Jussi Halme no longer has the original recording, but I’m completely satisfied with this! It really does sound like what I picture the full theme sounding like.
Almost every morning I wake up to this tune as my alarm to remind me life is just a big funny joke like the show's opening. It helps you from having a bad day and relax a little. I also like the 90's vibes from it

dang, impressively convincing interpretation of what the theme would sound like if it turned into a full track. nailed all the cliche features of songs of that time under that genre. what vsts did you use? i'm assuming the ones that both roland and korg published in the last few years.

It baffles me that this has become so popular, a political and satirical series from Finland that i used to watch with my grandma and grandpa. A series where politicians/factory tycoons scheme with stars and politics, naked and drunk in a sauna. And many times i remember watching this series after me and my family had a sauna bathing. And now this is a meme! 90's electronic instrument tunes are brilliant though so i can understand that totally of course.
Crazy, isn’t it? Cool to hear from someone who regularly watched the show, and I’m glad you found this and enjoyed it!
@@markify8019 As television history it was quite a remarkable show. A ghost writer had inside information on major political scoops and they were written in for these fictional characters named Paukku the sausage factory tycoon and his son-in-law "Tollo"(tollo meaning fool translated) who was social democrat politician. Population of Finland has been steadily 5 million and many of the hyvät herrat episodes gained almost 2 million viewers. My take is that the brilliant actors made it so memorable and the inside scoops made them feel "real" for people of the 90's. I guess British yes, prime minister is very similar show in tone.
