Edmonton weather in winter can become too harsh. So plan ahead of time before you move

I still feel that Ottawa makes much more sense here as Kanata North is home to more than 540 companies primarily in tech, which means more chances of getting job. You mentioned some big companies are present in Montréal, which is 100% true as I have worked for one of them in Montréal, but when we are talking about general scenarios number of employers matters more. Moreover, it is true as well that Ottawa is boring compared to Montréal, but if you live in Ottawa, you're just 2 hrs away from Montréal. Furthermore, with the new rule of tuition fees increase in Québec, it makes more sense to stay in Ontario. I've studied in Concordia and back then (2019-20) Montréal was the most affordable city, but now if we consider all the expenses including tuition and rents, Ottawa seems to be a better option as it also provides you with an opportunity to network with people working for government and it can eventually help in getting into a government entity.
I've lived in Montréal and I have a bit of bias towards Montréal too, but when considering that this is for sharing information, I'd keep that bias aside.
Also, just to clarify, not at all offended by the statements on Ottawa as I am also somebody who wants to move back to Montréal sometime in the future, but for someone new to Canada, Ottawa has much more meaningful things to offer compared to Montréal, which is only better cultural diversity.

Ottawa is still more expensive than montreal. The food here is one of the most expensive in Canada. Tech jobs are there but nothing compared to major cities
