I really hope they expand on this. I've always wanted a matrix sandbox game. Fighting agents all through any simulated environment would be awesome. If they added the ability to set up a game and enter the world just like the movie, and have access to that awesome endless room of guns.
That sounds awesome. The ps2 era enter the matrix was good as a kid. Wall running and slow mo shooting plus hand to hand (which max payne didnt have) That all in a modern open world game would be awesome.

“Unreal engine 5” A magic word to make people feel like they’re looking at a state-of-art game technology no matter what physics and logics the developers put into the game
@@Kacpa2 Finished game with $265 Million budget, 1,000 people working on it over 4 years dev time, compared to a base engine designed to give a game developer a basic platform to START from. Yeah, great comparison. For anyone who knows game development, you just made a BRILLIANT argument in FAVOR of UE5, that you compare its base engine features to what is, without a doubt, the best open world simulation ever made, GTA V.
The game is the matrix. I think the point is that everyone is a robot and doesn't care whats happening. A moment ago someone teleported through the car, and something gliched in the matrix and disappeared.
People keep commenting on the physics when it was added as an afterthought because it is fun. This entire demo is designed to be a tech demo for Nanite, Lumen and other major updates on unreal - NOT the physics engine. This is the basic rudimentary implementation, if you want decent physics you gotta tune it to do what you want, and that wasn't the goal at all here. The goal was the other tech, and advertisement for the movie.

funny thing about damage systems is: Games: Goes at 100km/h and crashes... doors and body gets deformed but hey! they perfectly fits one inside the other... (on its place) RL: touch a pivot while parking at 4km/h... gets a bump that makes imposible to either open or close the door until repaired xD
Reminds me of the xbox 360 GTA 4. Steering in the game seems not the best and I heard the missions are not the best too. Beam NG Drive for me looks the best for crash physics.
Burnout Paradise is an old game. But it has the best damage physics. This is acceptable collision damage. In life, an accident leads to severe damage to the car.
Now imagine this in a new MATRIX game. The only problem with regards to physics I can see is that - when crashing into a vehicle they won't flip over yours (especially with handbrakes on).
It's as if the game developers' need to put a visible list of controls on the screen, each time the player drives a car, is proof of the dumbing down of society. As if the developers worried there would be more people becoming frustrated with the demo / game because they had trouble remembering the controls (video games have always demanded this from the user), or bothering to look them up in the Pause Menu, than people who did remember them. That's one reason to bring user's manuals back, but this probably won't happen because we must “save the planet” by not using so much paper or something, even though there is such a thing as sustainable agriculture.

QUESTION. IF UE5 is so advanced and it renders all this beautifull scenes aout the box, then it can be run on any PC or console right? Because if engine is doing all of it for us, we dont need expensive components anymore right? Or companies will make game developers to lock FPS somehow to force us to buy more? If all this can be played without any problem at all, why would we spend our money on expensive grapic card if we dont need it?
