I did have to create a bootable disk like you mentioned but the App Store download gave me issues download software so I used manual download site from Apple Support.
Hey, so I was stuck in the same boat that the erase button wouldn’t work… i would click the erase button and nothing would happen. It had Monterey loaded on it and the Time Machine restore wouldn't work with that OS on it. I didn't figure that out completely for a long time. This last step is not in this video (in case you have a similar problem). 🙂
My Touch Bar stopped working when I updated to Monterey. Apple store wanted to charge me $596 to fix a “hardware issue” when clearly it was software related. Glad I took the time to learn how to do this!

been looking for a comment like this. So my Pro 2016 has a fan issue, but apparently when I formatted it, it went back to Mojave and the fan noise disappeared and battery health was excellent. Once in “Monterey Recovery” it’ll look similar to those erase instructions (recovery mode Faraz is showing) except you won’t be able to “show all devices”. Erase your internal disk.. give it a name and choose APFS and erase. It should work… once you’re done erasing exit this recovery mode. Turn off your Mac. Turn it back on and continue with Fazal’s instructions… (right when he said turn it on and hold the option key) … obviously there won’t be nothing to erase since you just did it in Monterey recovery. Continue with installing the MacOS you want. Hope this helps. Sorry if it’s extra wordy…and sorry if it doesn’t work for you like it worked for me. Good luck!

Happening to me too, please help
same
Help us please!!!!
Are you erasing it from main hierarchy? What is file type have you select ?
Thank you, it worked for me. If anyone has mac older than 2017 then mojave is the one you should go for.
Thank you for your valuable feedback.. this will be helpful for the community... !!
been looking for a comment like this. So my Pro 2016 has a fan issue, but apparently when I formatted it, it went back to Mojave and the fan noise disappeared and battery health was excellent. I then stupidly upgraded it to Monterey, and the constant fan noise came back. but I think I am going to downgrade again to the OS the laptop came with. Do you know why it behaves like this though????
Thank you so much! Everything went smoothly, however when I try to restore my files with Time Machine, it doesn't show my latest back up.
Could you please help? My files are definitely backed up into an external hard drive. Is it possibly because the backup was done in Ventura, therefore cannot restore in Mojave?
Yes you are right.. you need to manually move the files.
I have Lightroom 5 currently installed. Will I loose it if I downgrade?
Thank you
that's also my question.. will all the applications be gone after downgrading??
You check the Lightroom 5 configuration what OS dose it support.. your OS in the list then it should work
Hi, Faraz! I need your help please. I need to contact you.
I followed every step of your tutorial. Got it to Catalina from Monterey, but I can't transfer my files using Time Machine. I really need my files and I'm stressed out that I can't transfer it. Please reply!
Sure you can connect me on Facebook messenger facebook.com/ExcelExciting/

Hi... The instructions are great. However I hit the wall. I cannot erase my internal Apple HDD on iMac, I pressed the erase button but didn't bring me anywhere. Any suggestions please?
I've got the same issue. It's quite frustrating.
Hey, so I was stuck in the same boat that the erase button wouldn’t work… Follow everything he says on the video up until the erase part (if the erase part doesn’t work for you obviously).. I shut the MacBook down.. then powered it on.. press Command and R until it boots you to “Monterey Recovery”. Good luck!
Thank you for a straight forward tutorial on this. Really appreciate it. 👍
After downgrading does macOS still receives future updates?
great video! helped tons! my macbook air ran so slow on monteray
I did not understand if you have to copy MacOs Mjave into the new rebooted usb drive? shall I copy and paste it?
Very nice and helpful video. I subscribed 🖤🖤🖤
life saver huge thanks wanted to downgrade back to big sur and get my sound back on my macbook pro hated using blue tooth all the time with monterey which messed up my audio but everything now back to normal
Hi, mine stuck on copying installer files to disk
Can I do this without formatting my SSD? Just want to install Mojave over Big Sur and keep my files. Which step should I take? Thanks.
You can do that but you need make partition on your drive, as you cannot overwrite in the same drive.
Formatting was do the clean installation on your system..
Hey mate

Nice and easy to follow tutorial
Glad to hear that you found it helpful
Do you have to do the terminal part of this process in order to download??
I'm trying to downgrade from Catalina to High Sierra. After turning on the computer (6:00min) by holding the "option"key I get a black screen, so my key doesn't work as startup. I've to Cmd +R keys but I get into the MacOS Recovery utility window with Catalina back again as option to reInstall. Is there is another way to access the High Sierra external drive installer/ volume without the option key as startup?. I appreciate your response. thanks!
i have the same problem, only giveme option to choise monterey i need catalina

This is awesome my friend. this help a lot... I had to downgrade because Monterey stopped my HDMI display. now i can upgrade Mijave to C😁atalina

Wow you really helped me! Thank you mate! 😊
I have a question. Did the touchbar and touch ID continue to work normally? Or it stops working?
Sooo Helpful! Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this video! I had to downgrade Mac to older version to use the software with some hardware that will not run on newer Mac OS versions.
the only problem i was facing while downgrading is that when i was trying to download the os from app store it was saying that my system is up to date, as i was running monterey..then i came across the solution is that i need to open my mac in safe mode to download the os and it worked for me, rest is asshown in this video thank you so much....guys dont upgrade...its a trap
Can I use a USB flash drive for the bootable USB?
thanks for helpful video. i use mac for making music and most of my important plug ins are 32 bit because macOS Monterey works in 64 bit only i have to downgrade my Imac 2020 i9 to mojave but unfortunately i cant finde the mojave installer.
is there any possibelity to upload your installer on some sharing website?
or do you know where i can download Mojave?
thanks al lot.
How long does it take to get to the step after clicking the right os downgrade
so if i purchase a new computer from apple right now, will i be able to downgrade it with this process to Big Sur?
Depends if your configuration supports that version
EXCELLENT! You are an excellent instructor! Thank you!
Thank You for your kind words, may I know the reason for downgrading you mac 💻
Thank You so much for this! Downgraded from Monterey to Big Sur as it made my 2015 MBP extremely slow and buggy.
Hi Faraz thank you for doing up this video! trying my luck to reach you to check on what is "The default interactive shell is now zsh."? This was shown in my Terminal.
Excellent video
Hi Faraz! is there a way to downgrade without uninstalling the programs? I especially wish Avid Media Composer would not be deleted.
Hello 👋🏼
I have have MacBook Pro 2019 and i do everything but when I connect the usb-c not showing the os
Great Tutorial Faraz, worked well! You are very clear with all the steps, really appriciate that!
I downgraded to Catalina because of older (otherwise incompatible) software and that I like Catalina's interface and speed.
Thanks Faraz, that is super clear and helpful!
Awesome.. glad to hear you liked it 😀
@@ExcelExciting saved my life, wish more people would see it! ❤️
thank you dearly for this video! it helped me a ton! monterey gave me so many issues on my imac. it became super slow and all my graphic software were not supported. a real pain that new ios. happy to be back on mojave! cheers
Hi Faraz, after downgrade system being install, what about the Apps we previously install in the system, it will still there, or we have to reinstall 1 by 1?
did the apps remain or not
Hey I tried to follow it step by step but somehow at format stage (7:08) it is just not allowing me to press ERASE. Any tips around this?
what is the error you are getting ?
@@ExcelExciting hi thanks for the reply. No error just I’m trying endlessly trying to press erase and the icon is pressing but not moving forward

Thanks so much this worked well for me,subscribed.
Thanks so much Faraz! I had a question, after I went through ‘Install macOS’ part, it went back to the same window after it showed the loading bar. Now it shows options Install OS, Disk Utility, etc. but it doesn’t go anywhere further than that. It doesn’t let me click anything either. Has that happened to you mac too?
Wow it was great information thank u so much❤
I liked it
You are incredible bro, best video I found by far. Thank you!!
Ia it possible to downgrade to an OS that was prior to my receiving the laptop? Older than what was shipped with it?
Hi Faraz, I am stuck in a typical problem while following the steps could you please help me out here
What is that small white memory called??
