Hey guys!! We know our content is a but repetitive at the moment with so much pregnancy, house updates and buying outfits etc but we just wanted to say we are trying our hardest to keep posting 4 times a week during lockdown and it’s not the easiest time to create content so we’re just posting what’s going on in our life (home and pregnancy) and also fun sit downs we can think of doing! I know it’s a lot of consuming and we totally understand if our content isn’t for you anymore but we just wanted to say we are trying to keep posting 4 times a week and create videos we love doing. We can’t wait until lockdown is over and we can vlog lil days out and going for coffee and walking in cool places but right now we are restricted from all that and so we’re creating content we enjoy to keep us going through this period. Thanks for understanding and for the crazy support but we do totally understand if our videos aren’t for you at this time❤️
It's not what you guys are doing, but your personalities and excitement for every day things that keep me watching every video, repetitive or not! Ur videos always feel like I'm just catching up with friends rather than watching "influences" haha
have you considered an off white hexagonal tile for the backsplash? it might add a bit more texture because the direction of the lines are more varied and it’ll pick up on the angles on the table top too? just a suggestion, I love the kitchen so much and you’ve done such a good job designing it🥺
Have you guys thought about putting your dining table where your sitting area is in the kitchen? The support walls have already created the cosiest dining nook already, you could transform into a L shape bench (great for kids!) under the window with storage under for toys and lots of cushions and textures to soften the area and a nice hanging pendant or 2 above the table. You could then have your seating area where you’re dining table is, seats facing each other / out to the garden making it a conversational and social with the kitchen and works well with where you have put the TV and creates more space
I have always thought that would be the perfect dining "room" too, but maybe there's not enough actual space for the table and seating? LOVE the pendant lighting idea over the table too!
your house looks amazing and Carys you're absolutely glowing! I think it would look really lovely if you had your photo wall above the kitchen table as it would bring in the homely feel more and be more of a centrepiece. Can't wait for more house update vlogs!
Love how it’s turning out!! Have you thought of putting the new painting over the dinning table? Maybe a little sign above the couch where the paining is now? Like with your last name or something with a cutesy saying? Or even extending the photo collage wall onto both!
Idea for the kitchen/dining room/family area 💞 take the art down from where it is now and carry the photo wall around, that way it isn’t a plain white wall. Then hang the art where your dining table is. As a previous art student I found as a general rule when hanging art, the centre of the piece should sit at 140-150cm. Hope this helps for hanging future pieces. Love the house updates 👍🏻
Maybe a hexagonal tile? Also, could you get bar stools and make a breakfast bar, put the sofa against the wall where the table is with a coffee table and the new art above that, put the piano in the area where the sofa currently is, toy box etc and turn the middle room into a proper dining room with a bar or drinks cabinet?
Definitely should have just waited for the teal sofa to come back into stock! Would have been such a nice pop of colour in that space, the light one will just make the area look bland in my opinion, and you’ll definitely regret getting a light coloured one
Love seeing it all come together, I’m so invested! 😆 I would recommend having some kind of blind on the big kitchen window just because it will make it more cosy on dark evenings/nights rather than having a big dark space at the end of the kitchen xxx
You could sit down and do random stuff like go through your makeup draws or something and id still watch 🤣 a lot of people will always have an opinion but in all honestly your videos get me through life at the moment! Literally!!!!! And soon as your baby is here and little days out OMG we are here for it. Can't wait to see the garage transformation. Xx
YOU SHOULD GET THE TEAL GREEN SOFA, pls do it, when the bub runs over to the light sofa with a marker you will regret it, plus it would look soooo good with some colour!!
Herringbone tiles would look so good to match the table! Also doing your photo wall above the dining table would look so good and homely! Maybe you could also turn your table around lengthways to enhance the flow of the room? Loved this video!! Don’t ever apologise for ‘repetitive’ content because we all LOVEEE seeing your daily life xxx
Oh and another one for making the kitchen feel warmer... treat it just like any other room in the house with plenty of soft furnishings. Rugs, lamps and curtains look beautiful in kitchen/diners ❤️ Can't wait to see what you do next!
I’m still watxhing, but maybe a splash of color for tile! Break up the whites/grays. The tile for the bathroom downstairs is such a pop of like design, maybe try a bold color/pattern
Really love the dekton tops! I think the Roman blind in the sink window would be great, and I think an external blind would be good for that other window. Would loooove to see floor to ceiling curtains that go into the corner next to the door, so during the day it's open (and adds that texture you want) and then gets rid of the darkness at night :)
I LOVE the tiles. And they would definitely help to add the more rustic/cottage feel that you are after IF you lay them in a more traditional/brick style! Having them in linear rows will do exactly what you are trying to avoid and make it look more modern and too harsh/clean again! love love love the progress guys 😍
Currently 38 weeks pregnant with my fourth, and my nerves are a wreck! I swear, it doesn’t get less scary the more kids you have. I’ve had good birth experiences, and traumatic ones, and your videos are giving me some good vibes and relief during this tough time. I really hope I go into labor on a day you post! You guys are beautiful 🥰
I know James said you were going for a cozy shaker style kitchen, but really right now it looks very modern and sleek. There’s nothing wrong with that but it’s not cozy and homey just yet. In the spare area with the couch starting from there wrapping around the kitchen wall all the way up to the kitchen cabinet where the vase is you could put some wainscoting on the bottom half in the same color as the walls that always adds a homie feel.
For the kitchen big picture window (with the adorable pillows) if you wanted to add some brightness at night you could do battery operated fairy lights wrapped around the tree outside! They have a lot of self timer ones you could program to just go on at night 😊
Hey! I think you should have put the big artwork above the dining table and move the photo wall above the sofa! Then it won’t look so packed! And herringbone tiles to match the table would look super cool and give it some more character! And loving these interior vlogs xx
Loving how the kitchen is looking with the countertops! Little food for thought, if your going for something not so glam on the wall you'r considering tiling...id suggest a herringbone style using wooden slats, this will warm up the room and take it from modern to more cottage/farm house. Imagine your chopping block on the wall essentially...it would tie in with your dining table, shelves and accents such as the bronzed handles perfectly. Don't paint them just oil it using wood oil occasionally to treat and keep the wood a gorgeous golden brown colour. Using a shiny gloss tile will only create a sleeker more modern feel along with the dark cabinets. Just a suggestion from a likeminded design enthusiast!
Im not sure if you guy have tried this already but i think that if you guys place the dinning table the long way (horizontal) it would elongate that space, draw your eyes into the kitchen, and also add more walking space! I would love to see how it would look! Love the kitchen though!
New art work could go above the dining table and then put a large statement mirror above the sofa instead ! Mirror will act as a window and reflect light and illusion of even more space :) could even be a round mirror to break up the square/rectangle shapes in the room and add softness. Then the art work wont be distracted by the picture wall if it's standing alone above the dining table, will look very grand! x
Love the kitchen! I love these vlogs, no reason to be apologizing. These are very odd times we’re in and I know I simply appreciate seeing a touch of normalcy and also that you are being safe and responsible at the same time. ❤️
love the idea of tiles behind the hob, I have a suggestion what about a pendant light above your dining table ? to help zone the spaces but also add dimension between the areas, and as a feature to look to from the kitchen aspect? just a thought, but im sure what ever you choose will look fab, it already looks so lush!
So, just a suggestion. What if you guys move the art to white wall by the table and do a peel and stick wallpaper statement wall behind the sofa? Something that has a bit of pattern but carries through the colours of the kitchen? I think that should warm up the space alot as well as add some texture and visual interest into that tiny space. Also having a nice over arching ready lamp going over the sofa in the same gold as the kitchen handles (which I think is absolutely beautiful and complementary to the whole esthetic of the kitchen.)
I love it! Here are my ideas - above the dining room table add some brown wicker wall pocket pots with trailing plants in to match the baskets you are getting for the blankets. I’d leave the big window with no blind and put some bright lights on the tree outside or around the window. The tiles I would get in a taupe kind of colour to match the new sofa. I’d also get a tall standing lamp to put behind the single chair in the kitchen a thin sleek one. It’s coming along beautifully! How about a remote control blind for the kitchen doors out to the garden and above the sink?
I’ve been watching UA-cam for years. My girlfriend got me watching your channel in lockdown & I have to say I bloody love you guys 🙌🏽 it brings joy to our days. Thank you 🤩
I literally have never commented on a video on UA-cam before, but might I suggest a large chalkboard over ther dinning table? Carys is creative, crafty, and artsy, and could change out what is written or drawn periodically. And once your daughter is older she can occupy herself drawing on it. If you want cottage vibes you could find a chalkboard with a wood frame similar to the shelves on the other side of the kitchen. A second option would be to go more industrial. Just a thought. Love your vlogs and you have a beautiful home. I am definitely inspired to get things done around my house after watching your videos (much to my husband's dismay).
I adore the handles (and like the sound of the more muted brass), however they don't go with the other hardware in your kitchen - the tap, oven handles and fridge. I personally wouldn't have picked chrome or silver either at first but it will help to tie together the space!
honestly your videos are keeping me sane in this lockdown!!! i can only pray for a relationship half as lovely as yours when I hopefully meet the one for me. also BUZZZZZING for baby girl and carys you are glowwwwing honey xxx
Those gold kitchen handles are STUNNING. I think making it more dull will just fade in to the grey and look a bit samey. I think the kitchen suits the glam touch 💛. A rattan rug would be fab under the dining table - washable, wear well and don’t stain
I think you should remove that small chair opposite the dining table and put a nice tall flowerpot there, I have a space similar and I put a nice vase with pampas grass in it :) sometimes less is more and removing the chair would open it up so much more 😄 x
Have you considered having the tile installed I. A herringbone pattern? Very modern and will add some movement to the space. That will make it feel more cozy as well. Just an idea! Love the kitchen!! ❤️
House is looking fab . Personally I think you can change how a room feels with paint and colour and these easily be changed . Painting a wall or all the walls and co ordinating the colour with cushions , throws , rugs , wall art and footstools could give a cosier feel . A home is to be lived in so you have to buy what you love not what others think . Your home is beautiful and I love enjoying all your videos X
I’d definitely leave the window open and not cover it and get the fold blinds like mentioned in white or an off white colour. Sounds great! I’d also get the fold down ones to match the big window as matching always looks best with covering the windows! X
Love the art and photo wall! I think they look great together. Nice contrast and fill the space without overwhelming it. The sofa will tie it in nicely 🥳
On the wall above your dining table you should get a year-round wreath like just a leafy neutral type or they make more modern wood type that would add some warmth to the space!
No explanation needed. Your content is perfect and I am enjoying watching your life unfold as are so many of your friends on here. Carys, so pleased you have temporarily taken your rings off. I was getting worried! I also agree with others that have suggested a herringbone pattern with the tiles to tie in with your table and that perhaps turning it around would give more walk flow. Please keep uploading. Happy to watch and listen to anything you put out there! Stay safe and stay well. Xxx
I think that middle room would be great as a playroom/music room for your piano. Also, I thought you said about putting a long chunky shelf on dining table wall which would look great! I wouldn't put a rug under the kitchen table as it would be more work to clear up and the chairs wouldn't slide as easily. A blind would look lovely by the sink maybe a shade of grey. I am an interior designer and I think you have done a lovely job! 😊
I would move the picture wall above the kitchen table and put a shelf like the ones in the kitchen on the white wall and put some plants on there to kinda have the kitchen vibes flowing into the other room…☺️ and maybe put some outdoor spotlights above the big window and door on the outside of the house so you guys have light coming in but also have some light at night when you sit outside during summer?!☀️ love u guys!!🥰
Looks gorgeous! Deffo tile, will be so much more durable too over time than just a splashback! Love dream home makeover, every house is literally my DREAM 😂😂🥰
I think it would look nice if you put a baby swing/bassinet in the corner along the window or even a large plant to bring in come color and warmth Also you can out the new painting you got and put that above the dining table and then put your collage wall on both walls around the couch or putting the collage wall above the dining table and leaving the new painting to be a statement on the couch wall
Idea for the kitchen window, shutter blinds? they'd suit the room i think. Also have you considered putting the piano in the kitchen space under the art? it would look so good and be a good addition to a communal space.
I loved your old content but also love this of just spending time and hearing about your days! you guys are just nice to watch, you create a nice warm lovely vibe that I like having on as I go about my day!
Loving your transformation so far! Have you thought about moving the table sideways to open up the space more or even perhaps move it to the nook where the sofa is to create a cute dining space with a nice pendant and a corner bench? Perhaps where the chair is right now in the corner, add a green plant to create some colour in the room 💞💞
You mean Roman blinds for the window. They are lovely, make it looks ‘finished’. For the doors you should look at ‘perfect fit’ blinds. They fit into the doorframe rather than on top of them screws into the wall. 100% agree to add a tile, not only to look nice but also for a splash back purpose. Xx
The kitchen looks FAB!!!! I would def add some Roman shades above the sink and curtains on the big doors out to the garden for texture/warmth!!! And LOVE the idea of a tiled backsplash!!
You should deffo do those tiles in a herringbone style! I think the stacked on top of each other will still look too ‘clean lines’ imo. I would put the piano in the middle/dumping ground room with a sofa and have that as an area for the baby to play. Have you considered a mustard yellow sofa for the kitchen sitting area? I think that would add a nice pop of colour, and possibly a large circular feature mirror on the dining table wall. I agree that brushed antique brass hardware would look better in the kitchen and work better with the rustic warm wood. Xx
Honestly I love watching your videos so much ! You can literally be talking about what ever and I'm happy to listen ! Love you guys so much !! And super excited for baby girl to arrive!🙏🏻🙈🥰
Your kitchen is looking great! Maybe a Roman shade over the sink? I would add some color to balance all the white and grey. Perhaps some jewel tones ie: red, orange, teal, and yellow in the blinds and pillows? A large painting over the table with those colors would look nice too. Take a look at how much your yellow flowers pop on your countertop and use that for inspiration. Stay healthy and safe!
I have a suggestion for when you do your photo walls. Trace each frame on a piece of paper and cut it out. Use the paper cut outs to make the layout of the photo wall and then you can also find the spot to hang them easier as well
I think the kitchen would look lovely without any blinds, but instead get some really nice lights for the garden so in the evenings you could have a cosy lit garden vibe! I also think herringbone white tiles and white grouting would look nice! Kitchen is looking lovely though :)
Maybe you could put the photo wall above the dining table so that it doesn't take away from your piece of artwork. Then you could just put a shelf or something on the "big white wall" which could provide more storage? Love how the house is looking!
The kitchen is soo pretty😍 love that we get to see the real life not unrealistic crazy challenges or something like that but just a radiating happy young couple with some real life exciting things happening to them☺️
A nice hammered silver would look really nice, cottagey feel would be a mural tiles of whatever scene u want but a hammered metal or hammered metal LOOKING tile that matches ur appliances would be cool looking. Some pice a accent color (glass tiles or something easy to clean) to use throughout ur kitchen or house. A favorite color u won't get tired of. 💙
I think putting a similar curtain to the one you have in the living room would look really nice in the kitchen in front of the doors. That way as well you could put more fairy lights behind to make it look really pretty and less dark😁
I LOVEEEE how the house is coming together!! That piece of artwork that you bought using your grandpas money is AMAZING and fits with the theme perfectly!! Don’t doubt yourself Carys - you’re amazing! 💕💕💕
One thing to think about with potential blinds is to think about getting ones without the hanging strings! I have them and they are a nightmare having to tie up when friends children visit as there's been stories of kids basically strangling themselves! I know you can get string-less ones so just a heads up that it may make your life easier for baby proofing as well as looking neater! I'm loving the at home vlogs still, it's reflective of what we are all doing right now which makes it feel more authentic! 💜
That tap is so cool! An idea for the dining area walls you could add a living wall 🌱🌿🪴☘🍃 i think it would look really nice and add some colour to the space on the small thin wall/pillar (right side by the table) facing you if you're looking at the big piece of art 💚
I have never been the biggest UA-cam fan but I honestly love this channel and never miss an upload. Your videos have literally been therapy for me in the past few months and I’m so grateful that you guys are still uploading so frequently in spite of everything going on rn❤️
Hi guys! I've a tip for using the Quooker. I burned my hands a number of times (yeah i know, stupid) because someone in the office didn't let the cold water flow afterwards. So I would make it a habit that after using the boiling water, let the cold water flow for a moment. Your kitchen looks amazing!
Omg I love the art piece! It blends in so well, so modern and at the same time timeless! It really do deserve a picture light, that way it will light up and make a beautiful statement
That small area off the kitchen would look nice with 2 chairs and a little table....too tight for couch and foot stool. That new art piece would look Awesome above the dining table. Use the "casual" lounge room with pocket door for new couch and foot stool & baby/play area. Close enough to kitchen just ideas as to stay looking like open floor plan.
Herringbone pattern in that tile colour would look amazing and would add character. Kitchen looks beautiful. Love the countertop and shelves and the art!
A valance at the top of the big kitchen window would be a great way to add a little color at that end. It would frame the view, while still leaving it light and airy.
On the wall by the dining table you could do a blackboard wall! Your children could draw on the wall whilst your cooking and the blackboard can make it look cosy and fun! Like a little cafe 🤌🏽

Please look at my channel
Thank you we appreciate this ❤️
Agreed! We love these videos :)
Me too! 💗
You should try spinning the kitchen table round so it sits length ways, it would open up the flow more!
Or at least move the arm chair out of there, it feels like it blocks off the kitchen
100% agree!
Yes and put their new artwork on the wall above it!
Chevron/herringbone style tiles would look amazing in this kitchen
My thoughts are herringbone the tiles like the table.

You could move grandpa painting to the wall at the dining table would be lovely there too 💫
yes!
can we talk about how elephants represent baby girl and there was an elephant print behind them when they got engaged! :)
On that little wall in between your “sitting area” and kitchen/diner you should do a height chart for your baby as she gets older🥰💗
Was just about to comment that!
That’s exactly what I was thinking! You can get cute wooden ones too which I feel would fit with the whole areas aesthetic 😊
Yessss that would be so cute!!
@@KatieeMarie27 I want to gift it to them!
Omg that's exactly what I though too!!
I think you should lay the tile in a herringbone pattern.
I love the dining table without the rug, might be a hassle when the little one is sitting there and causing a mess 😂
Yeah exactly. Plus trying to hoover round the table legs. 😂 Moving the chairs out etc.
Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking. It’s going to be a mess once their child is eating food.
I love a rug under a table later in the future
The kitchens looking lovely but I feel your always trying to fill spaces and then end up with areas looking cluttered 😊
your house looks amazing and Carys you're absolutely glowing! I think it would look really lovely if you had your photo wall above the kitchen table as it would bring in the homely feel more and be more of a centrepiece. Can't wait for more house update vlogs!

Boo you have the best ideas
You’re so kind thank you so much lovely!!!❤️
Maybe you should herringbone tile behind the worktop on the hob side
To tie in the table and to add a cottagey effect
A navy sofa in the kitchen would have looked gorgeous with the painting :)

I love the kitchen update! Maybe put the art on the wall where the dining table is? I think it goes well with the kitchen colours

My favourite house on UA-cam by far! The genuine homely feeling is incredible and I love how much you change it up all the time it’s intriguing ❤️
Having shutters or blinds in the kitchen also really helps keep it cool in summer when we get the rare heat waves!
I absolutely love that James is so involved with the tiniest design ideas, it's refreshing to see! Love this content x
Xxx
I LOVE the shelves in the corner with the mugs and I love the way you arranged the frames on the gallery wall
Carys you are glowing! The kitchen is just perfect. Light and bright and airy. Well done.
I think it would look nice if you put a baby swing/bassinet in the corner along the window or even a large plant to bring in come color and warmth
Also you can out the new painting you got and put that above the dining table and then put your collage wall on both walls around the couch or putting the collage wall above the dining table and leaving the new painting to be a statement on the couch wall
That is the perfect painting for the space! It truly does tie in all the colors of the kitchen.
Love it all. The shelves are perfect! Bamboo shades would be perfect...look warm and cozy.
Also...Maybe Carrara marble in a herringbone pattern?
You mean Roman blinds for the window. They are lovely, make it looks ‘finished’.
For the doors you should look at ‘perfect fit’ blinds. They fit into the doorframe rather than on top of them screws into the wall.
100% agree to add a tile, not only to look nice but also for a splash back purpose. Xx
The kitchen looks FAB!!!! I would def add some Roman shades above the sink and curtains on the big doors out to the garden for texture/warmth!!! And LOVE the idea of a tiled backsplash!!
It's absolutely adorable and amazing the way you guys converse in conversation with each other. Almost finishing each other's sentences ❤️
The counter tops look amazing and you NAILED it with the photo frame gallery wall!!
My boyfriend and I finished watching instant hotel the other week! We loved the aussie accents, sunshine, and the homes (and the drama) 😂😂
I love your kitchen so much! maybe try putting the beautiful piece of art above the kitchen table. lots of love xx
Try placing the tiles in a cevron pattern! Would look so good, add texture and bring in the rustic vibes ❤️❤️🙌🏼
That colour looks so beautiful on you Carys! You are so glowy! 🥰
That thin tall wall in the kitchen next to the lounge area would be perfect for one of those hight charts for as your baby grows up X
That small area off the kitchen would look nice with 2 chairs and a little table....too tight for couch and foot stool. That new art piece would look Awesome above the dining table. Use the "casual" lounge room with pocket door for new couch and foot stool & baby/play area. Close enough to kitchen just ideas as to stay looking like open floor plan.
glad you're going for flat tiles rather than with curved edges becuase the plug sockets will look better on top. love you guys xxx
