- Takeuchi TB2150 with Fecon forestry mulcher. This is my first mulching job with the 2150 and it's a pretty rough site. After some adjusting on the settings I finally got it lined out. I need to clear all the trees on the back of this property to open it for security reasons. I've also got Dad here with his Takeuchi TL8R2 loader and his new tree puller taking out some of the cedar trees along the building. It's a neat little attachment that will dig up or pull out up to a 4" tree. Jason with Skidco is the only other channel I have seen with one of these. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #Fecon
Be sure to check out Skidco / @skidco
At first I was thinking, oh man that thing is a dud! After you got that thing to whirling it was pretty slick. That tree puller is sweet. Cool video!!!
Lol yes when I finally figured out the settings 🤦🏼♂️🤣. Thanks man appreciate you watching
Your gotta love a man that mulches in the dark! Good job on a tough property.
🤣 thanks! Appreciate you watching
I was more fascinated with how quiet it was inside the cab. I didn't realize it until you put the camera outside. That thing would be handy around ponds and ditch banks. I like it! Stay safe brother.
Yeah it was very quiet. It was tough to hear it bogging down or spooling up. It would be awesome for that! Appreciate you watching
Outstanding job my friend it takes a Lil bit to get use to mulching but the more U do it the ezer it gets Dat is just my experience
Thanks man I enjoy running the mulcher onhere
Awesome vid man! Always fun to see how different mulchers perform on different machines. That thing rips BTW! I know you need to run carbides because of all the rock but if you could run knives you’d go through those cedars so fast it wouldn’t even be funny! Yesterday was my first time running the new Prinoth on the skid steer and it’s pretty sweet. Trying to get the vid out tomorrow on that! Hope we get to see more of this thing in the future! I’d love to have one on about a 15 ton machine for doing bigger ponds and embankments.
Thanks man! I like it but that’s what I was wondering if the knives would do better. They seem to leave a much better finish. This one seem to bog down easier and just tear the trees instead of grinding but it’s probably the head or the carbides. Cool I’ll have to check that video out. Looks like your killing it right now man! 👊🏼
@@eliteearthworksllc Trying to stay busy LOL! Yeah the knives are waaay more efficient in cutting and don't bog the head down as bad since they are slicing instead of hammering. But in rock, if you start hitting a couple rocks here and there they will dull and if they get bad enough will be no better than the carbides. The knives leave a much better finish too with fewer passes over the ground to get it into a nice finish material.
Awesome video! Glad you got the flow figured out ;)
Thank you! Yes I didn’t figure it was a problem on the mulcher 😁 operator error
great job buddy and great video as always buddy 😎👊🏻👍🏻
Thanks man
Congrats on the mulcher ! Fun attachment to run. Nice to have a machine that size to run it on also 💪🏼. You’ll get a little better feel for it each time you run it. You’ll also figure out you need to stay away from those trash piles with it.
Good video!
I’m just renting the mulcher for right now. It’s definitely a handy attachment and I would like to add one at some point. Appreciate you watching
Nicely done
Thank you!
that tree puller that skid-co uses is a Danuser. Made in Fulton Mo.
Cool! Yeah that’s what this one is
I have the Danuser Intimidator. I have cleared about 6 acres in a pasture locally for a guy with it. I really like it. I literally pulled thousands of trees with it there. It is a good tool for stopping regrowth of the vegetation because it yanks it up with the root ball.
It’s a really handy attachment makes quick work of those trees. Appreciate you watching
Nice job all the way! Ain't no stealing converters from those trailer trucks unless they're inside! FECON makes a nice batch of toys (Jon said!) Dad's new toy is rather interesting as well. (POOR TREES!) Speaking of, that large clump at the end looked like HEMLOCK, yes? Thank you for another to watch you gentlemen work well!
Thank you! Yes they do I like the fecon stuff. Yeah it’s a different attachment for sure. I believe it was some hemlock 😁👍🏻
That Fecon, she’s a hungry girl! But, picky… she seems to like a steady feeding and a little time to chew. And, whenever she gets something she doesn’t like the taste of (rocks and dirt) she throws a tantrum! By the next morning you knew what she liked and had her digestion rate down pretty darn well. I think this was a pretty good job to shorten your learning curve!
I’ve seen those Danuser stumpers sitting around a few times. The only time I saw one in use was at the Farm Show out in Kansas. They had pounded in a bunch of wooden posts and were plucking them out, in a demonstration. This is the first that I saw them plucking trees. I think it is a nice addition to your dads? (Or your?) Tool kit.
I might have time to sneak over your way later this week. Are you going to be working in the area?
She’s very picky 🤣 it’s a pretty cool tool. We are working in neosho. Billy is suppose to open next week he says. I still need to go ride the train around 😁
Now you can really tear up Jack! lol
🤣🤣 yes I can
I built a tree puller for my tractor, very similar to your Dads, they work good. You can pull multiple trees before you have to dump them out.
Not the easiest job to mulch but you got it looking good. Keep smilin.
Cool they seem like a really handy attachment. Yeah it was a rough site. Appreciate you watching
Very nice job with the new mulcher!!
Thank you! I’m just renting the mulcher though
@@eliteearthworksllc You are welcome!
That thing looks like fun to use, and if there was a thief hiding in the brush, I think that Fecon would be more of an "intimidator" than that Danuser thing on the loader.
🤣🤣 that’s for sure. I bet they wouldn’t come back
Well sir, I saw a technique developing as you were going along, you seem to be moving at a steady feed rate and making better time. A couple of things, in my opinion anyway, that would raise havoc with that mulched would be wire ( fences) and ground trash (mattresses and the like). Have fun with the toy and thanks for the ride along.
Thank you! Yes fences are one of the worst things to hit. I did on the next job. Big pain to remove from the mulcher head. Appreciate you watching
Nice buddy that’s a fine setup. I guess you are ready to sell me that diamond now that you got the mulcher for the excavator 😂
Thanks! Lol I’m just renting the fecon I’ll still need my diamond mower
@@eliteearthworksllc I knew you wouldn’t give up that Diamond I was just messing with you! 😂
@@floridabrushanddirt2482 🤣🤣 oh I know
@@eliteearthworksllc I would kinda like to have the diamond mower too😁
It’s kind of mesmerizing to the layman. Especially when you hit a wall of Cedars. It’s so ironic how the Cedars have become a nuisance plant there in many cases, here they are prized!! More for pure landscaping, but if you plant just one, you have just one. It’s rare they seed others nearby here. It’s kinda tough to grow them and our winters with the winds can dry them out so bad they just don’t recover in the spring. I think I mentioned this before!! Even here a row like that and the cover they offer to criminals, they would be removed here also. People,,,, huh??
It was fun seeing you grow with your experience. I was wondering two things,,,, the groups of cedars seemed to go faster standing than when your dad pulled them and left them for you. Might just be your learning curve and what was left at the end as well. The pulling of the trees themselves made for a cleaner area. Maybe grind them down to the last bit of branches and then come in and pull them the finish up the remainder of the plant. A bit labour intensive that last way and would definitely cut into the profits.
Again, you know what is best for you and your circumstances, you can tell me I’m totally out to lunch, no offence.
You sounded better in this video, hopefully the pollen is getting to be less. I’m doing extremely well considering where I was in February!! Haha. No blips or anything. Had to wear a bloody heart monitor for 24 hours and normal with the slight evidence of the first heart attack, but it was not any cause for concern!! As I said, sold the yacht,,,,, I’ll miss it, but I bought the coolest (for us) log cabin in the first line of forests before the foothills, so it’s not steep climbing etc. get it in less than 3 weeks now,,,, on the 30th. 2 weeks!!! Sweet! The. The 7th of June the excavator, dozer and tracked hauler (like an excavator with a truck on top. It swivels and can dump at basically any angle in the swing! It’s better for the terrain the guy says, I just think it’s cool!! I’m there for the first 4 days and then head out to the coast for a fishing trip on a charter with the guys. Going up to the northern tip of Vancouver Island!! I will come back to the pond being done, but he aid he can leave the equipment there up to a week after I’m back as he doesn’t need it for any of his other jobs going on. Just in case there was miscommunication or if I want the pond to be the whole 1.5 acres approved. We are hoping the marshy area will keep the bears on the far side of the pond as that’s their best place to graze and feed. We are again in grizzly and black bear country. More grizzly than black bear this time. Time will tell if we get any activity. The previous owner has pictures of a known resident bear in the area. We have all seen him over the years. He must be 20 years old now. Has walked by people standing in the water fishing and been wishing 20 feet. Didn’t even sniff the air. He just doesn’t care about people . Usually means a dangerous bear, but he hasn’t even taken food off the picnic tables while unattended. He wants nothing to do with humans….. The primary reason he has made it to 20+ years old. They don’t live much past 25 or so.
Sorry gabbin!
Take care and I’m thinking this may be an addition to your business offerings. You sound like you appreciate the work!!
Yes it took me a few but I feel I got the hang of it as I went. Everything seemed to mulch better when it was standing. That’s a good idea on grinding them then pulling out the stumps. Glad to hear you are doing good. And that’s cool on the bear crazy he’s been around that long. Appreciate you watching and enjoyed your comment as always
I have one of those tree pullers, it does work pretty well until you get a big tree and turn while dragging the tree, it tends to bend the jaws. But with a welder and torch, you can straighten it right out. lol
It seems like a handy attachment. I haven’t used it yet just watched dad run it
Good Safety measure ! Safety...always there...
Thank you!
Brandon nice set up! I’m running the same head on my Volvo 140. Couple things we learned flow= RPM’s pressure= Torque. We had ours set pretty higher on flow and a hydraulic guy cam out and set the pressure up and flow to the recommended from Fecon and we seem to be getting more performance now. Other thing we found in rocky areas we go in and pluck the brush and pile it up then mulch the pile. Cuts down on throwed rocks then can haul the mulch off if need be or spread it out. Also had to click the head on and off to move and track pulls so much hydraulic power from the machine.
Cool good to know. They told me the head could only handle 30 gpm. My machine flows 60 gpm so I’d like to try a head that could handle a little more flow. That’s a good idea on piling it up too. Appreciate the info
@joemiller does the 140 not have 2 hydraulic motors?
@@littlefinkle7757 yes sir has a main pump and a pilot pump.
@@eliteearthworksllc if you go bigger I’d like to see what you get. Had an opportunity to buy a Denis Cimaf when I got mine but really more than what we needed. More of a constant use head and a fair bit more money. We only use ours about 5-6 jobs a year.
I have a post puller I use for removing fences and small trees. The excavator mulcher is handy for sure. Too bad they have to desertify that space just because of criminals. Around here more plants and a fence works better to slow down the crooks for a better shot with infrared scope.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. They want their cameras to be able to see I guess. But it is a shame. Appreciate you watching
Great job. 👍
Thanks man!
Was that an old foam mattress you chewed up or some insulation? Hope you had a good weekend.
I think it was part of a mattress lol
hm, I don't know. it looks like you could dig the stuff lay it down then mulch with a skid steer a bit faster.
Maybe but it seems a little easier with the excavator mulching the stuff in the air
That was pretty interesting and much better than in the loader in several ways as you pointed out. It looked like a couple times chips did fly forward or back a bit. Did anything at all hit the Lexan?
Thank you! Yes I had 3 good hits on the lexan so very glad I installed it. Appreciate you watching
Elite Brush Works. Where we shred your lettuce to the crisp.
🤣🤣 that’s right!
Did the bird try to fly up you nose? @ 7;32
Almost 🤣
How often is the recommended tooth sharpening?
These are carbide teeth so you can’t sharpen. You just run them until they break or finally wear out
@@eliteearthworksllc ah. So your drum has about the same teeth as John's from upstate brush control?
@@chrisfarris2594 yes
@@eliteearthworksllc ah. Those are the nice ones.
What model is the Fecon Head?
I’d have to double check I just rented it from my dealer. I know it’s a 36” head
@@eliteearthworksllc probably a FMX 36. we are about to purchase a brand new TB 260. are your hydraulic strong enough to move the machine and keep the mulcher spooled up. Or do you have to disengage the flow to the mulcher to move the machine?
@@fredhanners5033 yes that’s it! You can keep it spooled and track straight but if you want to turn you need to disengage it
Chris at LetsDig18 runs a mulcher on an excavator. I don’t remember which one.
Yeah he’s one for his yanmar
I believe his on the Yanmar is a Ivenco(?) Inveco (?)
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️😂😂❤️
Thanks
