To be fair to EGTTR. There is a sprint button. However, in order to remain fair, I will point out that the run button is R3. No you didn't misread that. It's R-Fucking-3. Nothing in the menus tells you this and the developer neglected to inform critics. Furthermore the increase in speed is so minor that no one would even notice it by accident. Plus, Chinese Room, if no one figured out there's a sprint button, THAT'S YOUR FUCKING FAULT. It's bloody terrible controller configuration.

+James F Doesn't Call of Duty or some other shooter game do that too? Running with R3? It fucking sucks, yeah. Also kinda reminds me of Mount & Blade, where ctrl+space significantly increases your otherwise horribly slow map speed, but it's never mentioned in any part of the game or guide.

And The Stanley Parable actually has some really good writing as a game.
It is witty, cleverly written, and uniquely structured to be an interactive medium.
But when I play a Chinese Box game, everything is so unnecessarily wordy and convoluted.

If I had any gripes with Stanley Parable, it's that after you've done all the endings, you kind of just uninstall it and move on. You can reach each ending pretty quickly, so the entire game if you're smart is about two to three hours, or at least that's what Steam tells me my total gametime is.

And not actually realistic. People do accelarate to run but they don't take as long as in the game to get up to running speed. It takes at least 30-40 metres to get full running speed.
In the game the top speed is barely a run at all.

_we want to call video games "Art" but we scoff at any game that tries to be "too artsy"._
There's bad art, like the lady who "touched up" the Jesus painting, then there's *bad* art, like modern art bad. When people who couldn't cut it writing books or making movies decide instead to turn their terrible storytelling to the world of videogames, that's when we end up with dreck like this. People aren't shitting these types of games for lacking challenge, they're shitting on these types of games because they're the gaming equivalent of modern art. They're the crudely crafted paper mache statue of a dude blowing himself behind the exquisitely hand crafted wooden dragon at a college art gallery.

This is one of a billion examples that proves art is completely subjective, no amount of pixels or detail can outdo one art piece, it is all opinions.

"I think I'm suppose to sympathize with the America scientist lady"
I'm surprise he got that far to the fact of you are the America scientist lady. The game rather coy about that fact.

Now the "game's" nominated for several British awards. Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, British Game, Game Innovation, Music, Original Property, Story, Two Performer awards, and Best Game. I guess 2015 was a shit year to whoever picks the nominations for these things.

I can understand how many might not like this game and it does have it's issues, but this review is REALLY unfair. The name of the game doesn't give away the idea that the creator had, I believe. It's more of a story where you make your own conclusions. Throughout the whole thing it gives you bits and pieces on what exactly happened and through that you can come up with interesting points of what REALLY happened. Was it a rapture in a biblical sense? Scientific sense? Spiritual? It's all up to you. The stories of all the characters are VERY well voiced and keep you intrigued. I think it did really well in showing how people would react to something like this. At first some might deny it, some turn to god, some just ignore it and go on with their day to day life (more or less). AND THE MUSIC... Absolutely amazing. The music and the beautiful graphics play an important part in some scenes that are just jaw dropping.
