My experience: after titrating slowly up to 15mg Mounjaro (prediabetic), I lost 65 pounds over 10 months. I stopped cold-turkey 2 weeks before an unrelated elective surgery because I started reading that it is best to be off it longer than initially recommended if you will get anesthesia.
Boom. My sugar cravings came back fast …the food noice was LOUD and old habits were back fast. I gained 8 pounds in two weeks. I couldn’t wait to get past the surgery so I could start back on my 15 mg. MJ.
Maybe it would have been different if I tapered down but it scared me to realize I may need this forever….. now hoping to get the 8 pounds back off and lose 10 more.
I hope my body treats this as a re-set too! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I am one that was dropped. I started Mounjaro 9/15/22. I was pre diabetic with other metabolic issues. My ha1c came down to 4.7 and my liver enzymes were normal for the first time is years from my fatty liver. Ive lost 69 lbs. I only want to lose another 20 lbs but it's slow now lol. My insurance stopped covering in January 2024 and no exceptions only coverage is for type 2. I now pay out of pocket with the coupon for $550 a month. I will eventually use compound or peptide for my maintenance.

Hi Elizabeth! So interesting albeit a bit scary to think about coming off eventually. I’m still at the relative beginning of my journey but I know that this med stops my addictive brain (my monkey mind) and unlike other addictions I will need to always eat food no matter if I’m on the meds or not. For me it’s not “habits” it’s physiological/chemical. While I’m on this I will work on the emotional and take this road with you all one day at a time. 🩵to you and Mr Freddie! -Kim and Banksy.

"Nearly 20% of patients regained all the weight they had lost or more in the 12 months after stopping that drug, and another 26% regained more than a quarter of their original weight but were short of total regain.
About 20% of patients essentially maintained their loss, meaning they didn't regain or lose more than a quarter of their weight.
And more than 1 in 3 patients continued to lose weight in the 12 months after stopping the drug.'

I have MS so I have much trouble following if speech on videos is ‘too fast’ (for me & how my brain processes what is being said). On each video there are settings (on my phone it is the cog wheel emoji ⚙️) if you click that go to ‘Playback Speed’. I almost always have to adjust it just a tad to .75 from Normal speed & that’s so much easier for me to process. It helps so much. My Dad gets so upset while watching videos, so I adjust it for him too & that it’s ok to adjust as needed. I also put Closed Captions as well. If still too fast (1 youtuber I follow I need to switch it to at least half speed!). Hope that helps! Elizabeth has so much info to give us, like she said, this is fascinating!!! I totally agree!! 😊
