Thank you for this introduction. I'm looking forward to the others in the series. Dot notation is great; it's as if the data flows like water from a source through modifiers to its destination.
Formulas have been a constant frustration - or really I should say my ignorance of their depth has been a frustration. Looking forward to leaning more.
I am not sure why I have issues with this basic concept. There are times I can just hammer it out, while other times it just doesn’t work. I think most of my issues are the mixing of property types. I also am having issues with calling other databases and roll ups. Thanks for this solid tutorial. It has been added to my Notion Reference Page, LOL.
It's challenging for anyone without a coding background. Start simple and gradually advance. You'll find my function-specific tutorials, along with their demo databases, helpful. It takes time, but it's immensely rewarding!

Great analogy. Dot notation is the most distinctive feature of Version 2.0 of formulas

They're challenge for sure. Learn incrementally. Practice these fundamentals and stay tuned for function-specific tutorials.
Great explanation! I really need as much help as I can get with formulas and this really helps.
Delighted to hear it. You'll definitely find the function-specific tutorials helpful as well.
