My favorite question to ask at an interview: You have a cluster of hosts. DRS is enabled on the cluster and set to fully automatic. You try to put one host in maintenance mode and it won't go into maintenance mode. What could be some reasons the host is prevented from entering maintenance mode?
@@Сергей-к6ъ2ш Hosts that have different processors can stop a migration in a cluster where EVC is not turned on. An anti-affinity rule "don't run on this host" can prevent migration as well. Good! Keep going. There are more reasons.
@@jeffnew1213 I think network or storage settings can be a reason but but when DRS is enabled it means that network is set up properly and there is a shared storage for the cluster hosts

Great video. It was paced perfectly. Just enough info, not too little, nor too much.

Because VMs have not migrated from it?
@@Сергей-к6ъ2ш Yes. But what are some reasons that some VMs won't migrate?
@@jeffnew1213 If they don't, does it mean that EVC is improperly configured or anti-affinity rules are set up?

The reason is "Not enough resources available to run this VM on the remaining hosts"
ANd another reason would be "A device is mounted on the VM"
Yes, like a CD-ROM. Or a device is passed through to it.
