No matter how minor an accident, doesn’t the FAA require an investigation? The plane needs to be checked out and deemed flight worthy?
Yes, this exceeds monetary limit. I’d get my jet repaired. The other guy will fix and inspect his jet. Insurance withstanding
There are very specific definition to the terms you are using. The FAA requires a report, the FAA determines the extent of the accident investigation. The investigation is to determine the cause of the accident. The airworthiness of the aircraft is determined by inspection by certified personnel (mechanics, nondestructive testing etc.) this inspection is required for airworthiness and is not performed by the FAA. The role of the FAA is not to fix airplanes; they ensure others are.
