Many thanks for this video, I will need to find the list of parts you have used, I can’t see them any where on your website that surprisingly has not got a search option.
Very cool idea! Especially with all of the flexibility that you have with it not only being a mount, but a slider as well! Thanks for sharing your idea!
hey this is awesome but I realized ur description has a mistake I have to run back to the store to get 2 more 1.25 inch pipes to connect the two sides of the sliding box, you only list 2 to be needed
thanks a ton for this! do you find the sliding box is hard to keep from twisting as you move it along the frame? it looks as though some well placed dowels could lock it in along the track.
+Specific Love Creations can you help me out with one issue. You created your slider box/camera mount for a point and shoot camera. We have a canon XA10 video camera it's 6.25" long from viewfinder to lens and 3" high. What would my measurements be to make a mount for this camera? It takes the standard 1/4 threaded mounting screw, which is 3.5 " from the viewfinder (back of camera). I want to be able to tilt the camera like you demonstrated. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/749467-REG/Canon_4922B002_XA10_HD_Professional_Camcorder.html
Hey! I just want to say thank you for making this tutorial! I have been looking for a quick inexpensive way to make an extremely, convenient overhead mount for my videos. Keep up the good work!
VERY nice ! Think I am going to try it, with a few mods: (1) Add small Teflon pads on the bearing surfaces, so larger/heavier camera will probably slide better , (2) Add set-screws on the pivoting legs, to be able to lock the slider in other positions --- mainly vertical, (3) Maybe add small pulleys --- or some kind of retainer/pivot (for a rope/cord/cable on each end) to facilitate operation from the ends, when in a vertical/high position. So thanks for a simple, inexpensive, well-thought-out, easily-adaptable idea. Doesn't get a whole lot better then that !
Great design!! I work in small engines a lot and I am making videos to start a channel of my own. This design will help a lot!! I will probably make a larger version, but this one is a great starting point. Thanks for the idea! Love your videos and ideas!
Nice, easy and simple solution. Quite the talented stunt dog. :-) Is the reason for the 8 T connectors on the sliding part just for different camera mounting options?
Great Video and instructions thanks. Question? I noticed the camera was at an angle do you have an option to make it strictly an overhead camera or will this solution still work? I need for a camera to be about 6' - 8' above and hopefully this will allow it. Also can this support a DSLR Camera's weight?
+scrapstreams I do not have an exact cost because I buy in bulk, but I would estimate around $30 if you buy some of the contractor packs. Also prices may vary depending on your location. That's not counting the lights.
I came looking for the comments to find this as this is my idea as well. I wonder if I could make this and insert an ipad into the sliding box thing. I just need it to go side to side, not directional. I am looking into doing board games this way. Interesting concepts.
liking this 1. because it's 3 minutes long, and 2. I need this in my life
You deserve a hug and a salute!

Yes, I wanted to have the option for multiple angles.
+Specific Love Creations Cool. Thanks for the reply. Peace.
Where do you find all of these? Awesome idea. I'm sure it would be good for still shots too. Amazing. Thank you. :)
Very nice
Great video. Thanks so much! Would this setup be able to hold a Full Frame DSLR?
Thanks!
Not sure about that
For the camera hook, dont you need two elbows?
2 elbows, 2- 3" pieces for the uprights of the U and a 1-1/2" piece to connect the elbows together across the bottom of the U.
Awesome, might have to make me one of these!
what about a regular-size camera?
this is the best ever ....
Impressive
Great Video and instructions thanks. Question?

+Jeff Lee The angle of the camera on this setup can be set to many angles. I have not tried a DSLR so I am not sure.

I came looking for the comments to find this as this is my idea as well. I wonder if I could make this and insert an ipad into the sliding box thing. I just need it to go side to side, not directional. I am looking into doing board games this way. Interesting concepts.
