They performed that on stage, while singing live, as the last piece of a near 40 minutes long performance (5 songs, 3 with choreo, plus a solo dance showcase for each member), it was the most epic performance i've ever seen tbh

Guy in the middle getting your attention is Jimin. Trained as a contemporary dancer before becoming an idol. He's one of the main dancers. His solo dance for Filter in the red outfit (there's two performances) is legendary, you'd really enjoy it.
In addition to that..Jimin was not only do contemporary but don't forget that he joined in some contest before doing popping & hiphop in which he's also great at👌👌
You should watch the individual dances for the same show MMA 2019 V, JK, J-Hope and Jimin who does a beautiful contemporary dance with a scarf. Also MMA 2018 Idol was spectacular

His name is Jimin and most reactors always react the same way to him. He is one of the main dancers in BTS but generally considered as the best dancer in Kpop by the general public
It’s the “Jimin Effect “ there’s countless videos on UA-cam about him and the effect he has on people. There’s something about him that just draws you in, his skills are phenomenal then add in his personal and his aura, you just get sucked in and mesmerized by him and his movements. They’re beautiful
Jimin would be the guy in white shirt and black hat. He's a great dancer, as are several others. This was for their performance at the 2019 MMA's. If you haven't seen that, please do. The whole show BTS put on is EPIC and this was the ending piece.
I know everyone is mentioning Jimin’s contemporary dance training/background (which makes him that much more incredible as a dancer obv) but he started as hip hop dancer in grade school, mostly locking and popping and b-boying. He combines all of those skills SO WELL.
Let’s also not forget his 8years of martial arts training that he also combines with his skills when dancing

Im sorry but this comment is just so funny.. i dont know how having contemporary background makes him "more incredible as a dancer".. i can accept that its a personal prefrence, Jimins style, but that definetly doesnt make him any "better", whatever that even means. Jimin has said how he struggled with other genres and always felt at ease and that he was at his best in contemporary. That already should say something to his fans but no, there are always people making it seem like he is better at other genres due to his contemporary background. This is so wild.. thats not how it works. Im not trying to insult anyone but it bothers me that Sometimes the credit is given to the wrong place. Jimin is good at one thing, Jhope at another, JK in his own and so on and on. Where someone struggles, another one fills in. "This is a team and not a fu*king competition.."🙌 🙏
@@jennaeveliina313 Sorry, I didn’t mean it to come off as comparing Hoseok, JK, and Jimin dance abilities - you’re right, each of them bring something remarkable with their dance skills/artistry that elevates the whole group. I just meant that Jimin’s contemporary background is another facet to his dancing that makes it just as incredible as what JK brings and what Hoseok brings, or even Yoongi, them being the ones in the group that had some dance background/training before debut.

Olani, that is the one and only JIMIN. PARK JIMIN. Donald Is right Jimin is loving it. He said Dionysus is one of his favorite dance routines.
Jimin is a dance phenom who is also a martial arts expert in several forms Taekwondo! Hapkido, Japanese Kendo and a couple of others. So his jumps, and acrobatics he is known for is on another level. He studied pop, loc, boogaloo in middle school at Dance Academy in Busan. He entered highschool as the number ONE academic and dance student primary focus Contemporary dance Busan School of the arts.
The school said no dance student had ever entered as overall number one in the school. When he told the school he might have to leave due to finances, they told him they would take care of the costs. They all loved him. When one of his teachers asked him what he wanted to do, he said sing, perform idol stuff. His teacher told Jimin’s dad he had something special. So his dad supported him auditioning to become an idol. His teacher recommended he audition with BigHit entertainment company. He has been voted Best Dancer in the industry for the last two years I think. His two best friends are right behind him. Idols Taemin and Kai. Jimin considers -J-Hope the lead dancer in the group as the best. JHOPE was a street dancer with a crew before. He is amazing. His popping, locing, he is straight hip hop. A true student, with a command of boogaloo. I have heard several dancers say.
I love all of them because the majority do not have a dance background and they are the best hands down.
I can’t wait for you guys to watch their performance trailer from 2013 I think. It’s insane. It just focuses on showcasing their dancing.

I get the same feeling. Jhope and Jimin never disappoint when it comes to a dance performance but Jimin has that “you’re not going to forget me” attitude on stage you can’t miss.
Jimin (in white shirt) is a masters class I how to add flavor to choreography without doing too much or too little. Really loved your reactions! You two always help me learn to appreciate the choreography more. And yes kpop should make music industry worried because BTS is paving the way and opening doors and kpop raises the bar with their MVs, choreography, the hours they put in to perfect everything for stage.

Your attention on Park Jimin is due in part to him having a black belt in Taekwondo. He brings focus, centeredness, ability to micromanage isolations and force, and well-honed proprioception, from that art. He also brings an ethos that comes directly from Taekwondo precepts. that lets him take the center when that's right, and go to the back or offstage when that's right. He is generous and humble, and yet he's also a star when that is his role in a piece.
I loved this reaction, and the comments from both of you. I hope you will do more. Thank you. This was the best in your choreo reactions series so far. I rarely listen to anybody's reaction all the way through. This is one of the few reactions I've watched where I did not want it to end.

This song/dance was actually the final song for an EPIC LIVE performance back in 2019 right before COVID. I am not sure you can fully understand and appreciate why certain moves where “toned down” without knowing the full context. This song was the last out of 4-5 full songs that they had already done. It is absolutely unbelievable when you see the full performance. 🙏 Please take a look at the whole performance and post the reaction to that. 😊💜💜💜

Jimin (the one in the middle) studied urban, popping and locking first (when he was around 13-14?), only AFTER that he studied contemporary dance and from there he auditioned. But his roots are urban ;)
There are predebut videos going around youtube of his "battles" in middle/high school ^^
He studied several martial arts, and probably combining these and the previous dance training is the reason you notice his stance and his flowy movements too.

Sorry forgot to answer... No bias although certain mvs, certain songs, certain episodes... All of them bring something extraordinary, hence ... OT7!
Keep in mind gentlemen, yes they really practiced this one...you see the whole preformance was around 44 minutes long. They preformed 4 songs, 1. Persona 2. Boy IN Luv 3. Boy WITH Luv 4. Mikrokosmos (micro-cosmos). Than they all did individual intros with each one represented a Greek (or was it Roman) Gods, with Namjoon a.k.a. RM representing Dionysus. They had flower girls, a horn blower, around 150 dancers and others, and I believe 6 or 7 real horses on stage. All for the beginning of this preformance you just watched.
And all of this just for an award show. Imagine what they do for their concerts. And it was just announced that in 2 years, so by 2023, one of the biggest award shows in Asia has decided to move the show to the U.S. Imagine the audiences here trying to keep up with all the preformances from all the acts.

Love the reaction! This was my favorite live performance! And the guy in the middle you spotted is my bias, like people told, it was Jimin. And at the 2019 MMA show all 7 members had a solo intro piece and Jimin did a beautiful contemporary solo dance. The whole set up and entrance of their "Dionysus" was amazing. You guys should give it a watch.
You should definitely watch the live version of that at MMA. There's an introduction to the song where each member performs individually and if you like Jimin (the one in the middle) you gotta see it. The whole production is 20 mns long and it's the most pharaonic live event you will ever watch.I kid you not. A must see. Thanks for your reaction.

You are right, they do practice 15-16 hours a day for a choreography. That has always been their practice. When they are prepping for a comeback, they'll stop any form of schedule for a month to focus on the performances etc...
I personally like Jungkooks performances as its always powerful.. I honestly dont think hes human he never seems to get too tired out or miss a step..Everyone is amazing of course tho 💜💜💜

Loved this reaction. Regarding Jimin…I loved how you saw his talent without really seeing him PERFORM because his face, voice, his overall stage presence is unmatched. BTS, in general are all immensely talented young men….but there is just something about Jimin that draws your eyes to him. I LOVE the way you put into words how he finds a way to STAND out without really standing out…..now that is impressive!

As others have mentioned, the guy that stood out to you is Jimin. You should definitely check out the performance they were practicing for. It’s the 2019 MMA awards and this is just one of multiple songs they performed that night. They had a 40 minute set. The production is a SPECTACLE unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Jimin has a lovely contemporary solo tucked in there.
Also, please permit me to objectify for a moment. With the cobalt blue jewels and hair wrap, Olaniyi is giving me modern 21st century ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring’ vibes. The girl in the 17th century painting didn’t have a 1000 watt smile, though :)

All the dance line are amazing. They each have their own style. Jimin - contemporary and locking and popping, J-Hope - hip hop, locking, popping, Jungkook - mix of contemporary and hip hop. V is a fairly new addition to the dance line and fits in with the other three veering towards the contemporary. J-Hope is the dance captain for the group. Jimin’s heart lies in contemporary. Watch him dancing during his solos, Lie and Serendipity. One of the choreographers of this was Sienna Lalau who also choreographed, ON. Loved your reaction which showed a true love and appreciation of dance.
Dude you asked is Park JIMIN, main dancer, lead vocalist and voted 3 years consecutively as the King of Kpop. 3 years at #1 for the monthly Male Idol Brand Reputation Index too. Please react to Jimin's best fancams video. During an actual performance of this, they were slow to give him his chair but he pretended he was seated on a chair. Must watch to believe.
I must point out that the Male Idol Brand Reputation is awarded every month and he’s been getting it each and every month consecutively for the past 3 years.

I couldn't breathe watching them perform on stage after many songs. They are just out of this world and the standard is so high now. We are spoiled by their performances and there is nobody else around that can compare with BTS.
This is the cream of the crop. The 'finale' set-up and choreo is total creative brilliance. How do they come up with all of that?! We all should watch the long table/dance break in slow motion to appreciate everything. BTS is great because not only do they rap and sing while dancing strenuous and intricately detailed choreo, they have the facial expressions and inner passion coming through as well. That's not something you can really teach or learn. They just have that artistic sense and that fire.
This performance is astounding.

Y’all have to see the whole 2019 MMA performance. They had like a 40 minute performance AT AN AWARDS SHOW. They turned that show into a full on concert. It was amazing. You guys have learned to respect the dances and practices, but the live performances the kpop artists put on, particularly BTS, are god-tier. They dance, sing live, switch up the clothes and the stages, they have charisma and charm the audience, put little bits in only fans notice. Still goes down as the best awards show performance I’ve ever scene. They put their all into it. They had amazing staging. Dionysus doesn’t have an MV, but please watch the whole 2019 MMA stage. They were almost collapsing when they came off stage. They performed Dionysus a bit differently on the MAMA awards the next day and ended up with two different members getting injured. Awards week 2019 was killer for BTS because they had just finished promoting an album and had several long award show performances.
12-16 hour practice days. These guys practice for dayzzzzzzzz especially for important performances. And they hardly repeat the exact same choreography for different performance appearances. They exercise the highest creative integrity possible which means they really have to work harder than most even if they're already top tier in their industry. They will never be lazy.
BTS are one of the few who do ALL OF THIS while singing live. Respect

Jimin is the amazing dancer in the hat. Jimin, JHope ( jean jacket and beanie) and JK (long sleeve Shirt with black pants) are definitely top dancing, V (tan cube stripe shirt) and Suga (guy who danced down the steps) are second tier then RM (Blonde hair) and Jin (beige hoodie and black jeans) ...and they are all not far behind the others. They are the best clean cut hit dancing group I have ever seen.

Love y’all reaction. The meme we in the white shirt and black cap is JIMIN. He is apart of the dance line along with JUNGKOOK, V, and J-HOPE( dance leader). JIMIN knows hip hop and he study contemporary for a few years. He is very versatile and one of a kind.

“Big stage type performance” is such an understatement for this performance. They performed for 40 minutes, had real life horses and god knows how many dancers on stage.

This was me when I saw baby Jimin’s dancing on Dope. I never took my eyes off him since even if I try. But what I love about him the most is his soft and sweet nature (cutie, sexy, lovely). Imagine knowing this person and then seeing him so powerful on stage…it still amazes me upto this day.

Watching the whole 2019 show will show their individual talent as well. The award show is beyond anything in US.
If you watch J-HOPE performances even when he is just sitting there talking to army he is always using signs or gestures and does extra moves and stops etc even back ground grunts etc . This is what makes him so freaken awesome ! This is another one if J-HOPES songs
I got goosebumps the 1st time I saw this LIVE performance....it's just so crazy...the hype, the atmosphere, the feel just EVERYTHING! I don't think any one or group can top this legendary performance! BTS is just on another level. Can't wait for next MMA...

One of my favorite dance practices. Just like every once else said, this was done live, but to put the icing on the cake. This was the last performance on a 30:00 performance on stage. Non stop.
The dance break at the end of this was a once in a lifetime thing. It isn’t a part of the original choreo. It’s because of that dance break that made this their best ever plus the mini solos they did. Like everyone else here I do recommend that you check out this performance of MMA 2019 that BTS did. It’s 38 min long so bring popcorn.
Love that Jimin caught your eye. While I respect that J-Hope is the best dancer, Jimin is my *favourite* dancer. You can see his contemporary dance experience in everything he does. He has an insane stage presence and knows how to work a camera 😆. Also he's so different off stage which I love. There are loads of compilations of him dancing on UA-cam.
This was my fave dance practise, the live version was amazing as they sang it live at the end of such a long performance, but you lost a lot of the details through the camera work. I much prefer this version 💜

That was Jimin grabbing your attention in his white shirt and black cap! He's always so dynamic and draws my eye even when I'm not looking for him.
This song has a very MALE emotionally motivated theme, and u can see the boys feel the choreography along with the song really releases the frustrated angst of a testatarone driven young man with his indecisive girlfriend. And they show it, even on their faces. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kpop is a whole industry where they take young kids and spend a few years training them and if they have actual talent they can then debut as a group. As someone in the US we no longer really have that type of system (we never had to this level). Closest we got was Disney that lead to careers for Britney, Justin, etc. What BTS label Bighit did was (with the hard work and success of their only group BTS) they were able to expand to create Hybe Corporation which has now expanded to the US. The plan is to apply the Kpop formula to bring back boybands and girl groups like they had in the past like in the 90s like NSync, Backstreet Boys, Destiny’s Child etc. This is ALL due to the success of BTS which other kpop groups benefit from.

Jimin started with b-boying and hiphop and then after starting contemporary dance be became the top of the contemporary dance department at his school. He is also a blackbelt in TaeKwonDo and also studied 3 other forms of martial arts, which adds to his dancing and gymnastic ability.

The development of the company that created BTS, Big Hit (now HYBE), is integral to the development and global success of BTS. It went from a shaky startup to acquiring Scooter Braun’s company (with Bieber, Ariana, etc) - all because of BTS and the incredible music producers and choreographers that “Hit Man” Bang (the head of the company) recruited to support Bangtan. Bang took Big Hit public (with a lot of shares given ton BTS) and he’s now the third richest person in Korea. He built a state of the art building (where the beautiful practice rooms used in Butter and PTD are), has launched incredibly successful 2nd and 3rd generation bands TXT and Enhypen, and is getting ready to debut a group based in Japan. BTS, Bug Hit, and Bang are an amazing success story.
The one in the white with the cap is Jimin, who studied Contemporary dance in fact was top of the School he was at. J-Hope is the man with the shirt with a green on it and khaki pants studied Hip-Hop and won awards at the national level. The others really had no dance experience and in fact the guy who danced down the stairs? He had been dancing and training for yrs with a messed up shoulder (was hit by a car in 2013 and told no one for a long time ( he said initially he fell down the stairs, because he thought he'd be cut from the group if they knew how serious the injury was. He got major hell for hiding it) until the end of 2020. ( He is a rapper, producer, writer of great regard btw, in the band he is called Suga ( short for shooting guard, his fav position in b-ball.) For his solo rap he goes by agust-D. They are well known for their work ethic and 12/16 hour dance and vocal practices. It is worth a look at the finished product, the music videos do not disappoint!
Im glad you mentioned the back up dancers the definitely had to be on their game. I know we are mostly here to watch bts but their back up dancers are just an extension of them. I havent really seen others mention them so that cool. But yeah to see them do this during a real performance was amazing.
My favorite thing is looking at other idols watching this live at the award show because they look so shocked hahaha

if you watch the behind the scene, they were so nervous and anxious about this performance. It is because they have to perform LIVE and the choreography is really really hard. There is almost no time to rest.
