Hey! I'm an admin of the Dubbing Database and a huge MLP dub researcher, so much that practically all the MLP: FIM pages on the wiki were supervised and heavily expanded by me. I appreciate so much that you used the wiki as a source! Especially because I'm huge Shunks fan, so wasn't expecting this video, truly.
I have toooo much dub knowledge when it comes to ponies, but if you wanted to know anything about what you left out or didn't elaborate on, I have you covered:
    - As with many TV shows, there are of course 'unauthorized dubs' - essentially, the dubs that Hasbro gave no permission to exist but they do, sometimes because of how loose the copyright system in the country can be. Of the MLP dubs that fall into this category, two big ones are Albanian (the first dub by "Jess"), and the 3 Persian dubs that exist (yes, it is common for one piece of media to receive multiple dubs in Iran specifically).
The Albanian dub is infamous for constantly changing characters' names and using unofficial M&E grabbed from random sources, since obviously they can't receive that from Hasbro - the latter is also common within the Persian dubs but especially Persian Toon, who decided it was an amazing idea to use Ren and Stimpy background music during some scenes.
    - Sometimes related to censorship, some dubs would outright skip episodes or outright seasons of the show. Some even dubbed the show at a random point, like Macedonia and Bosnia randomly jumping to season 3 (which as you can imagine, does tend to cause continuity errors that these dubs do not care about). In the Hebrew dub, the network that originally broadcasted the show (Hop!) was very bad with this, *skipping* season 3 of the show entirely and heading right into season 4 with no explanation as to how Twilight got wings, and they've skipped so many episodes sporadically.
    - When it comes to the genders of the ponies, as you've said, some dubs have changed some relatively minor characters' genders, and a few even retracted their decisions when the gender of any specific character became more clear to the voice directors. However, it's so important to note the big one: Rainbow Dash and Applejack are **canonically** males in the Macedonian dub. They are referred to with he/him pronouns and both are voiced by male VAs. The reason for this is unknown, but we support trans gay ponies here
    - Pony dubs are truly a pain when it comes to voice consistency, oh boy. One character can have about 7 voice actors for so many reasons, including discrepancies in voice direction, it's especially bad in the Albanian dub. Though of course these dubs are particularly awful when it comes to the songs. Especially Hungarian, which was notable for being a sloppy dub in its first few seasons, and by the end started hiring random male singers to sing the parts of female characters. Not to say he didn't slay the part
There are also some truly weird situations that I can think of, like the Indonesian dub hiring Malaysian singers in the first season to perform all the songs (though they wouldn't change the opening theme itself until seasons later), or the Japanese dub switching over to using South Korean voice talents beginning season 5, which was met with mixed feelings but it ultimately got the job done.
    - Speaking of Hungarian, Minimax in all of Central and Eastern Europe opted out of airing season 9 of the show, taking the Czech, Romanian, Serbian, and Slovene dubs down with it, as well. Czechia in particular has aired the show on many channels outside of Minimax, but they were just never allowed to air season 9 due to this rule. Despite this, the Czech dub still did dub the season, it's just being gatekept by Hasbro and may possibly not see release until the near future. As well, the TV specials and Pony Life were still allowed to air on the network and be dubbed in these languages just fine. Just S9 was affected. Weird, I know.
    - A BIG ONE you missed out on explaining are the demo DVDs! In some places of Europe, before the show was being rolled out on TV in many countries, they were selling DVDs of the third episode "The Ticket Master" being dubbed in several languages, as a demo test. They were sold in August 2011, and some dubs ended up took interesting approaches in the finalized version when it came to adapting the show. The voice casts in these demo dubs were different depending on the dub, some voice switches here and there happened, and in a few of them the finalized version is completely different, such as Romanian being dubbed in Bucharest in the demo, while being recorded in Oradea in the finalized version. There were Bulgarian, Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian dubs of these demos too, which did not happen with their finalized versions as they produced voice-overs for these languages instead (a brief run down on what that is: imagine the original version but now some monotone man or lady is reading the script in a different language over the footage. Bam, that's a voice-over).
    - There's a lot of lost media when it comes to MLP dubs too, of course. Like that mysterious Khmer dub where only a low quality recorded clip and some of the first episode ever surfaced online, and the title of the show reads "Ponies Are About Love". Or the Amharic dub... Or the hotly debated Albanian and Macedonian dubs that only tackled season 4 and aired for only merely a month on the kids channel Pikaboo, before being taken off air, while nobody in the community had reported on this, or was even aware of this until it was far too late.
    - I should also mention that there are a lot of multi-dub situations with MLP, two particularly odd ones: There are two Dutch dubs, the second of which was produced in 2016 and aired for a brief while on JimJam and nowhere else, with the only major difference being that it was produced solely in Netherlands, while the first and main dub was a co-prod between the Netherlands and Belgium. And there are also two Czech dubs, the second is technically a partial redub *of sorts* that aired in 2016, they only dubbed season 6. It was made because at the time Hasbro sent out 3 episodes of season six to various European distributors, and so the main Czech dub only did those 3 episodes and none other in the season, leaving another studio to redub those eps and finish the job for them.
Okay, sooo that was a lot to take in, I know, and that's not even talking about G5. I like being a nerd.
Hope you or anyone else interested in MLP dubs liked reading up on this! And I enjoyed the video lots! ❤❤

Fun fact about the Brazilian Portuguese dub: Rainbow Dash frequently refers to other female characters by calling them "babe".
It's to the point where in It's Not The Mane Thing About You (S07E19), when Rarity gets a punk rock new look, Rainbow reacts saying "What a babe!" instead of just saying "Awesome!" like in the original audio. Which is kinda funny to me idk why.
Also she wasn't changed to a guy around here, her actress just played her with a somewhat boyish voice. Spitfire was voiced by a man in her first appearance though, but they fixed that later.

Also from Poland and I also love Polish dub. I personally love the voices of Celestia and Sombra played by Elżbieta Jędrzejewska and Mikołaj Klimek. They are very good and I personally think they fit the characters better than the originals. Sombra in the Polish version isn't played for laughs and has a very menacing voice. However, Polish dub has some problems. For example, some translations are incorrect. For example, in Magical Mystery Cure when Rarity sees Twilight after her transformation into an Alicorn, she says "But you're an Alicorn. I didn't know they existed" which ruins the moment. Also I must mention that in season 1 Spitfire was played by a guy. Fortunately, they corrected that in season 3. Also there were some casting problems. Voice actress of Sunset Shimmer Paulina Raczyło had published a post in which she showed a clip from Legend of Everfree recorded in the studio before the film came out. For this she was fired and replaced by Anna Cieślak. Lastly, mentioning a bit of trivia about the Polish dub. Discord in the Polish version is played by Grzegorz Pawlak who also plays Darth Vader in the Polish dub of Star Wars which I find hilarious.

Russian dub was probably the most controversial, from really weird word choices via literal translations or some lines literally left untranslated to the characters' names being butchered and translated literally too (Nightmare Moon's name was literally said twice in that scene where Twilight calls her out as the Mare on the Moon, that was just glorious). It was so bad that one of the voice actresses actually agreed to re-record her lines for the first several episodes, but the studio declined this version and it's only available online. If I remember correctly fans even faked (?) a TV channel hijack with a parody dub over a very gruesome and infamous scene of a man hanging himself, alongside another one with a creepy Pinkie doll. So yeah, people were pretty unhappy...

Rainbow Dash? There's no good way to translate "Dash", so let's just leave that in, but her first name is "Raduga".

One of my favorite facts about the french dub is that " Changeling " was appropriately translated as " Changelins " for the entirety of the series....Except in season 6 for some reason, where they decided to call them.....Impostors......
Also, remember that part from the episode " Flutter Brutter " where Fluttershy says she's peeved and everypony around her is in shock? Well in the french dub, she says " J'ai les boules ", a slang expression that has a similar meaning to being peeved, but literally translates to " having the balls ". Yes, THOSE balls. The french dub of My Little Pony aknowledges the existance of testicles and the fact the mention comes from Fluttershy out of all characters makes the scene even funnier than the original dub in my opinion. Wonder how they got away with that.

As someone from Mexico (where Latin-American dubbing was done and consumed) I can add a few things.
3:02 In my country dubbing is usually kind of a serious matter (even the fans sometimes take it way more seriously than they should), but in general, my country puts a lot of effort in the dubbing, for what I have observed, the acting is rarely bad and if a dubbing is bad it's usually because of the translation, so having big names in it makes sense, and I'm thankful for it, because I love this dubbing, from MLP and in general.
3:07 Interestinglly, the voice she originally had in the dubbing pilot was from the VA Elsa Covián who in the final product voices Rarity, this was for having continuty from the G3.5 and also the reason why in said pilot Rainbow Dash has the voice of Fluttershy from Maggie Vera, who aslo directs the dubbing of the series itself.
3:11 I don't think there were a better voice actress in this whole country that fit the character better than Meli G, so changing the voices from the pilot was definitively the best idea.
3:51 I can gurantee you that in real life Melissa, at one point in her life, sang "Dale, dale, dale" even before G3 came out, it's THE song that sort of HAVE TO be sang when hitting a pinata in a party.
7:30 Well yeah, basically tonto = fool, "estupido" (the corresct translation) sound too harsh here.
Other curious stuff I can add:
    - The voice of the parents of Twilight are from the real life parents of her actrees, Carla Castañeda.
    - In epidodes from 14 to 21 Twilight changes voice, and is never changed again, nor the episodes were re-dubbed.
    - All of the Mane 6 keep their respective voice actress when they sing.
    - Every EG short since "I'm on a Yatch" was never dubbed in latin-american spanish, I read once that it's told that they were in fact dubbed, but never released.
    - Altought I'm not the intented audience (at this point, it shouldn't something new to me), I really liked the European Spanish dubbing, and it's sadly is incomplete, the season 7 and 9 are simply not dubbed, and apparently the European Portuguese also lacks season 8 and 9 apparently (I thought it was also 7, check the response of this comment)

regarding the polish version, all these more violent references are pretty typical. also when i was growing up, peeling one's skin off was somewhat of a playground insult. like we never gave it much thought. so i guess we are just Like That. saying "like satan" is also very proverbial, but i guess considering this was airing on Mini-Mini, whose target demographic was kids whose age was still a single digit, i could see why it would sound off.
also the "Hell" in Japanese, in many languages that aren't English, that isn't even a curse word. like its just a description of where sinners go, its not bad. in polish we say "what the devil" instead and even that would probably slide in a cartoon. considering japan isnt even christian country, saying Jigoku might as well be Hades or some other mythical world of terror.

I have international dub autism so thank you so much for making this video 🫡 I'm Italian and when i was 5 years old i remember i would watch subtitled episodes of season 1 on youtube before it got dubbed, i was on italian brony forums (YES at that young, with my parents' supervision) and a pretty big thing for me at the time (AGAIN I WAS LIKE 5-7) was my mom calling a chocolate easter egg manufacturing place to ask them if theyd make MLP easter eggs for easter 2011 or 2012 like the previous year so i could tell the forum ppl about it (in a blog post they even shouted her out as "Elisa's mom". Magical times truly). I stopped following the show at around season 4 but it was my deepest special interest for YEARS, i loved to collect all the different "brushable" figures i saw at the store, i would download images from all over the internet and categorize them in such specific ways (when i finally try for an autism diagnosis i will just show them my hard drive from when i was in elementary school) and MLP is probably what got me to learn english because i was watching so many fan videos online without really understanding what they were saying! You mentioned this in the video, but a confusing thing growing up about the italian dub was the complete removal of the episode where the flim flam brothers debut. I always thought that was so sad, i dont think ive ever seen the original episode to this day! Also, the italian dub does have that AMAZING original Cristina D'Avena theme song for season 1, but somewhere down the line it was replaced by this really shallow cover of the FiM theme, probably after complaints by fans but i cant know that. SAD! I feel like i should add that b4 G4 (lol) i was familiar with my little pony as a franchise and my parents would go crazy trying to get me g3 (I THINK) and g3.5 toys on ebay, i knew the "vooooolaaaa mio mini pony" theme song even if i dont actually remember watching the older shows, and my parents would also get me these CD ROM games of older generations :D pretty cool. Oh and while it might seem obvious those talking celestia and cadence toys (LETS FLY TO THE CASTLE) had their voice lines translated in italian. Sorry for such a long comment but i wanted to say SOO much, again thank you for this video its always great to hear people talk about these things outside of the dubbing community!! 🥹
EDIT: I forgot to add this but it was the entire reason i decided to make this comment. When i was a little older, like 10 or 11, i was following an MLP magazine that held drawing contests and whoever got featured on the magazine would get a figure sent to them. So basically a few times i would put in my all and compete against 5 year olds with my Advanced Art Skillz, its pretty funny looking back but i did win once u_u they sent me a twilight figure...

It's curious that in the Latin America dub we didn't censor "cider" (cidra), at least in the first version, because then it was changed to "jugo" (juice), so it's like a mandela effect if you ask to the spanish fandom
Also, in the intro, the "A beautiful heart" and "Faithful and strong" parts are switched up, maybe to make it rhyme, so you have Rarity saying "Es fuerte y fiel" (It's strong and loyal) and Applejack saying "De gran corazón" (With a big heart)
Which, it doesn't change anything, and it can be taken naturally, but I got really confused when I notice this listening to the english version

Brazillian here! Our dub sadly also had quite a lot of translation errors. I was never able to find any documentation on this, but I know for a fact there are many. They also couldn't decide on whether to call cutiemarks by their original name or to translate it, so the name changes pretty much every episode they're mentioned, which I imagine probably made a lot of brazillians confused.

The thing I love is that in the episode where the father of twilight had spoken dialogue he was voiced by Mario Castañeda. So yeah, twilight sparkle is daughter of goku, at least in Latin America.

In Brazil, the brand wasn't very treated as something more than a regular cartoon, most promotions here were the same as other countries, the most notable thing here is the dub. Most VAs here are well known, like Twilight's, Pinkie's and Applejack's, but like any other dubs, we had lots of voice changes, even in the mane 6, sometimes they were understandable, like some voice actresses were pregnant, but we had problems at the start at season 1, where we only had 2 singers, none of that fit any characters,. Luckily this changed, except for the first EG movie.
At the 2017 movie, Applejack's voice actress was changed, but this happened again in some EG shorts, and definitely at the web series, but the cartoon one was the same from the start, but starting from rollercoaster of friendship, we had a full on recast.
The Rainbow Dash and Spitfire situation were some direction errors, Rainbow's actress made her voice more feminine while the series went one and they just changed Spitfire's VA.
We had some dub errors, like male characters being referred as feminine, mainly Shinning Armor, which fun fact, his voice actor and Cadance's voice actresses, the main ones (some changes), are the same as Goku's and Chichi's from Dragon Ball.
We had a weird censorship, the cartoon was mainly transmitted by Discovery Kids, but during season 9, they cut some scenes out of the blue, mainly for time for commercials, like Yona burping in She's All Yak, but two episodes weren't never broadcasted, The Last Crusade and The Last Problem, and Twilight's VA confirmed they were dubbed, they should've been transmitted at 2020, but we only got them available in August last year by a Brazil exclusive streaming service, we don't know why, but probably by the subtended Sapphic couples in the episodes, not because the channel had something against it, but mainly to avoid being harrassed by conservative parents, which is weird, but luckily we have 100% of the show dubbed available.
Last facts: we had a pilot version of the dub the was available by the episode The Third Ticket, where only Rarity and AJ's Actresses where the same, and to the promotional material, the earliest ones were dubbed by Starlight's voice, but she said Equestria in a weird way, and the rest were by Sunset's voice, the same for beta Twilight.
Here are some fun casting: Twilight's Va is the same as Mabel from Gravity Falls, Rainbow's beta voice became Pinkie's singing voice and even sang Rainbow in the May the Best Pet Win, Nami in One Piece was dubbed both by Pinkie and AJ, Netflix and 4kids respectively, and Pinkie is the same from May fom Pokémon. During season 4 and Friendship games, Fluttershy's actress was pregnant and were changed, equal to Pinkie during 4 episodes of seaon five, and funnily, the first episode where Pinkie had a full presence after her original VA was back was The One Where Pinkie knows, just a fun coincidence.
(Thanks for all the feedback and corrections)

And a few characters have the same voice like chrysalis and zecora or Nightmare Moon and Celestia. But pinkie's voice got replaced in s8 probably because her voice actor stopped voice acting, but i never liked her new voice... then rarity's voice was replaced in all s7 but came back in the movie and stayed till the end, Just like pinkie's voice, i didnt really like the change, but i m glad She came back. Also Starlight had a diff voice the First season She happeared, but when She got reformed in next season her voice was similar, but not the same. I was a Russian kid, around 9-10 years old, when I got into MLP. I was also spending an unhealthy amount of time on the Internet, which is where I found out about the show, not on TV, funnily enough. And as a Russian, one of the first things you get bombarded with trying to get into MLP is "DO NOT WATCH THE DUB, JUST DON'T." So I didn't lmao
What do I think of a dub now as an adult? I mean, it's still not the best quality, might even call it shitty, but I wouldn't call it the end of the world as some bronies did. It was the same as any other russian dub of children media for TV, they never have the best quality (maybe from the lack of funding?) unlike most cinema level dubs.
Yeah, the voices are noticably more sqeaky and annoying, there are awkward intonations (although, from what I heard they changed some voices in later seasons, so they sound much more natural), but there are also some things I don't agree with anymore, like the hate for name translations, which I despised as a kid just because everyone else did without thinking much of it. I'm sorry, but at the end of the day it's a cartoon for KIDS, kids will have a hard time remembering smth like "Twilight Sparkle", it sounds like jumble of words to a russian speaker, you gotta translate the name, it's not like they turned some John into Ivan, it's a purple horse.
Anyway, I'm still kinda grateful for the hate I guess 'cause it helped me with learning English? 👍 I'd watch it with subtitles first, then I wouldn't have the patience to wait for subtitles for newer episodes and watch them in English, and the I'd be like hey, I actually understand what's hapenning anyway, cool

As someone who grew up on MLP in Poland, I have to say that the untranslated names weren't a problem. Most people from that generation grew up surrounded by English words anyway. Think 'UA-cam', 'Microsoft', 'Apple', etc. Those are all names based on English words.
The only name I had a problem with was the character 'Silver Spoon', because I assumed that 'silver' is supposed to be pronounced as 'sl-ahy-ver'. So I always pronounced her name as 'Slahyver Spoon'. But I didn't have any problems with any of the MCs' names.

In reality, voices in Russian dub wasn't the biggest problem. The problem were in many other things, such as logical mistakes in the dialogues which changed original idea (they literally changed the morality of "Applebuck Season" episode from "Applejack had issues with accepting helping" to "Applejack had issue she couldn't refuse to help when she was already extremely exhausted"). Not mention this infamous fuck up with Nightmare Moon in the "Friendship is Magic, Part One" when Twilight basically says to NMM "You're the Moon Pony - Moon Pony!" (this is how Nightmare Moon is called in Russian dub). Imagine if Twilight said "You're the Mare on the Moon - Mare on the Moon!"? Same level of absurd. No wonder it became a meme in Russisn brony community - as all dub was a meme in general.

EDIT: I gave the 80s version a listen, and recognised Cristina D'Avena immediately, the theme song singer for countless animes, like Kirby Right Back At Ya!, Calimero, Moominvalley, and every Sailor Moon series. The biggest claims from the Russian MLP fandom were the translation of the name Nightmare Moon as Moon Pony (and unlike the translation of Twilight and Rainbow, the translation of the name Nightmare Moon destroyed the logic in places in dubbing) and blunders in the first 2 seasons. Subsequently, the dubbing got better and season 4 was the best in dubbing.
Then, in the Russian dubbing, the dubbing studio and the dubbing customer changed, and from the 5th season the rolling began again. Season 6 had even more blunders than season 1, and not only in translation (as in the case of seasons 1 and 2), but also in voice acting and songs (and the songs before that, even in season 1, were well sung in Russian). The dubbing of season 7 completely hit the bottom and was dubbed frankly terribly, which is why everyone bombed even more than after season 1.
From season 8, after the claims, dubbing began to improve again, and seasons 8 and 9 were dubbed relatively normally.

FUNFACT about the Arabic translation as someone who grew up with it, the censorship would actually change depending on which channel your watching!
CN would censor , while on the other hand SPACETOON would censor everything that is deemed “wrong” yet would also censor the random parts ( in the fairy odd parents they coloured Vickys stomach green to much her shirt even though you could tell she’s wearing a crop top, btw no other Arabic channels every did that )
or even cut the entire part out
And how I found out was by this weird hiatuses that BOTH CN and SPACETOON had, where SPACETOON would air season 1 then go on a hiatus, while that happens CN would also air season 1 ( at that time I realised some changes in the script and missing parts of episodes), and when CN airs all of season 1 they get into a hiatus while SPACETOON airs season 2 and it keeps on going till CN stops airing MLP

And Applejack reffers to some ponies as "docinho" which is like a softer version of "sweetie" or "dear". She says it in a lovingly and intimate way. The one she calls "docinho" the most is Twilight, specially when she is anxious. Its probably used replacing "sugarcube"

Hi there! A friend just informed me that you included part of my video (currently unlisted but still available through a playlist I made and wherever the video is posted) to talk about the Croatian dub.
The first Croatian dub of MLP:FiM certainly had a whole assortment of problems, with the voice acting being of least concern (even though it is still mostly comprised of duds in my honest opinion). The absolute worst problem with it, besides the occasional terrible singing, was the audio editing - the example you've shown is far from the only one and one of the more severe. An extremely common issue was line recordings looping for no good reason and/or playing where they don't belong.
I still feel sad that the only official Croatian version of This Day Aria is in this dub. The new dub never dubbed the second or third season despite the latter being officially announced. Both me and another person made our own version of TDA because the official version is abysmal.

She sang terribly in some songs, yes, but because of the amount of completely unprecedented problems in the dub I'm more inclined to blame the higher ups who had more control than any of the voice actors who had next to none and might've not even been given sufficient room to breathe and make good takes.

The Italian and Japanese themes for FIM slap way harder than the original.
    Notes:
-Princess Universe is an amazing name for Celestia imo, makes her sound more badass.
-Can't believe beer, wine, and hell exist in the MLP universe.
-Chinese figures somehow existing as humans implies they are able to coexist with Equestrian creatures, when in regular MLP lore they are split off into their own world and simply turn into ponies when traveling to Equestria.

I have grown up in a Baltic country called Estonia. Over here we speak Estonian so mlp is dubbed . I don’t really remember the show because i watched it while in kindergarten, but i can translate some of the characters names. Rarity is Haruldus ( rarity), Pinkie Pie is Roosa ( pink), Twilight Sparkle is Videvikusära ( twilight glow), Applejack is Õunarüüp (apple ?sip?), Fluttershy is Võbelus (tremble), Rainbow dash is Vikerkaar (rainbow) and Spike is called Astel (spike). During 2005-2010 my sister was a big fan of mlp and had a lot of mlp toys, so toys were sold ower here too. Nowadays mlp doesn’t have a lot of publicity and is a filler show on kids networks.

In the french and Italian dub of all things G5, Pipps name is Ruby! (Because Pipp is inappropriate in Italian and french) that's why all toys with Pipp say "princess pedals" to make them international!

I liked the Dutch dub a lot but I was a kid back when it aired. I think a lot of bronies at the time didn't like that it was half in Flemish half in "Netherlands" Dutch. There are actually 2 completely different Dutch dubs, with the second version for example having the actress that was Rainbow in the first one playing Applejack in the second dub. They also dropped the subtitle and it was just called "My Little Pony".

it noticed that nowadays in dutch dubs they have a few Flemish actors in there. which is quite odd.
also uh i didn't like Dutch Twilight. and i think Spike was voiced by the same woman that does Ash in Pokemon.

    • @BasilWald
      @BasilWald Рік тому

@@ghoulchan7525 I think there are very few professional Dutch voice actors, so yeah, it becomes easy to recognise the 20ish people that voice everything. :( Especially the ones that voice Pokemon, since Pokemania hit the Netherlands extremely hard lmao

    • @ghoulchan7525
      @ghoulchan7525 Рік тому +1

@@BasilWald i think there's more than 20 voice actors in the netherlands. it's just that you tend to hear them in maybe 1 or 2 shows and then never again. plus it's so hard to find info on any them since they often go uncredited. you have to be lucky to find their online website/portfolio and hope they listed the show there.
but yeah there's quite a few more known ones. like some i can pick out whenever i hear em. others is like "where did i hear you before?"
but the dubbing industry is mostly relegated to kids media. and it's a shame. i wanna know what these Actors also did. just list them in the credits. please.

In our polish dubbing Applejack's voice actor is also the voice of Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob. When you think about it those two characters are quite similar in some ways.

The Finnish dub is really high quality and I even prefer it over the English one. The voice cast stays the same throughout almost the whole series, including Equestria Girls, Pony Life and G5. The only characters I remember having different voice actors for brief moments are Twilight in season 7, Applejack in season 9 and Rainbow Dash in Best Gift Ever. The original voice actors did always end up returning afterwards though. The availability of this dub is my only problem with it. There's no single place where one can watch all episodes (seasons 3-5 can't even be streamed anymore and must be bought individually) and some things like the Equestria Girls movies and Best Gift Ever are no longer officially available anywhere after being removed from Netflix.

Russia ,Kazakhstan and possibly Ukraine since it was not uncommon in 2000x-2010x to have exclusive cartoon merch for these countries usually in magazines with a little toy )
