I enjoyed the walk around Monaco, it looks absolutely beautiful. Ugh, I was expecting that swimming area to be loaded or at the very least a handful of coins. With the lack of an abundance of old metallic trash, I suspect that it is someone(s) happy hunting ground on a regular basis. What do you think?

So jealous. You walked right by my sisters apt. I was there for 10 days in 2009 for the Grand Prix. They also filmed Ironman 2 at that time. I remember the water being such a healing element. Same beaches, and I've dreamed about going back with my excal2. Shocked at how little you found. I'll bet if you could do a boat dive out by the "Rock" you'd find ancient artifacts there. Monaco is absolutely beautiful, I miss it. The Hotel Paris, the Bay, Cousteau's aquarium , the Museum, and the Cathedrals. I ate at that sidewalk restaurant too! Check out the Haagen-Dazs ice cream stand!

Definitely like the vlog stuff, especially of cool places I know I'll never see. Like Monaco. Is that the proper pronunciation? Do we pronounce it wrong in America? consider diving the Beaches/breakwaters of Lake Michigan, especially Chicago. The invasion of the zebra mussels has made the water crystal clear.

I would go metal detecting when I was a kid with my father, he was featured on treasure hunter magazine in the 70’s. I was probably 8 and we went to an old stagecoach trail in Colorado and I found a lucky strike case filled with silver coins and boom! I now understood how my Dad was so passionate

Hello! the old coin is french "Francs" used between 1960 and 2002, probably 5 cents as the size of the coin ;)

May I suggest you find “Sam Holmes sailing” on UA-cam. He’s making his way around Scotland currently. I’d like to see you two on a video together. 🙂 His and yours….

Crazy that such a high class place didn't have anything good to be found at the beach. Monaco is awesome. The cars are always a spectacular site. I'm surprised you didn't go check out the that Black & White Bugatti Chiron though. It's a $3Mill Hyper Car. 😍😍😍😍 Makes me want to go back! I was there in '03 2 weeks prior to the F1 race, and again 4 days after. Yes I missed the race! 😭😭😭

The coin looks like the size of an old 20 centimes ( French coins before the Euro ) I think I can read Republique Francaise or something like it, however it could as well be something a bit more rare and that is a 10 Franc coin and those I think were around in about the late 50's.
The 20 centimes was used from early 60's up until France changed to the Euro in 2001 I think.
Confirm it's a 20c (20 centimes or 0.20 franc) brass coin, just before the euros. You're right, on one side we can read "République Française". Other similar coins are 10c and 5c which differ only by size (and value)

@@AndyWoohoo666, reviewing once again the video, I distinguish a kind of 5 engraved, so it might be a 5cts instead. Definitive confirmation could be done by measuring its diameter : 17mm for a 5c, 20mm for a 10cts and 23.5mm for a 20cts.

Nora , I’m glad to see you have such a good relationship with your mother. I think it’s great to have her with you on your ventures. You also look so pretty in your white outfit. You and I are the same height but l’m probably older than your father.
Re: wishing wells --- also, they are often intended as a fund-raising tool, anyway, and so people know that the coins would be collected periodically in any case. The theory of a wishing well is not to throw away money by letting it just sit inside the well forever, but to have it be initially "spent on the wish" and then used for a worthy cause, like a charity or public-works project.

Hi, Nora! As always, a great video. The yellow coin is most likely French. It looks like centime.
I believe the worn out coin is french. The inscription says Republique Francais , could be 5 centimes (1986-2001). The diameter should be 17mm for 5 centimes, 20mm for 10 centimes and 23mm for 20 centimes. But I'm pretty sure its 5 as it was made of alloy of copper-alluminum-nickel, the green residue is caused by the copper.
I'm quite unlucky with my detecting here in UK as well, I can't find a lot of stuff, but that only means that the universe will present us something big ^_^
I've only seen one other person hunt like you do. My friend Juan from The Dominican Republic. He wore a wetsuit, no scoop and he dove & fanned his targets. The only difference was he used an arrow (Yes as in bow and arrow). He cross haired his target then set the arrow on the target, catch another breath, let go of the machine, fanned and retrieved the target. Great video, I know how time consuming that alone is.
Question, how do you travel with your scuba equipment. Is there something special you have to do when you are putting it on the plane?
