I wish I had found them so so earlier..but I found them during the pandemic. I have now seen them twice in the front row both times. They didn't play this song, which is one of my favorites, but I am so thankful that they got back together. A life affirming band
Anytime Brian Fallon touches music, it will become too personal for somebody to bear. This is too beautiful and too honest, divorce is a terrible thing and Fallon does such an excellent job capturing the pain involved with it.
I wasn't even in my relationship that recently ended, when you wrote this comment, but man is it such a beautiful and perfect statement about the power of Fallon's music. Hope you are in a good place, now, kind stranger!
I find the original version's music masks the true meaning and emotion to this song, but when Brian sings it acoustic you can feel every single emotion behind his words, and to me that makes it so powerful
What's so amazing about this isn't just the amazing lyrical content it's the fact that this is a live acoustic performance not many bands/artists can reproduce the same sound that is on a album because of the amount of editing and auto-tuning by computers. True musician
I for the first time, listened to Brian's voice. I am ever so grateful to find him and the band. So hard to find musicians like him anymore. Thank you, Brian...
As many times as I've listened to this song, this is the first time I've heard the acoustic version. Unbelievably amazing and shows how wonderful he is. The lyrics are some of his best and will break your heart.
Heard this song 100 times and today I just burst into tears on the way to work. This man has such a pure heart. Brian's lyrics really stir the soul...i miss thier shows so much...those got me through some rough times as well. I hope you are happy and feeling whole again. Bless you 💝🤗
I don't know if you really realize the power of this song, until you actually go through something like it. "Stop clicking your red heels and wishing for home. I'm hearing that he tells you, he can read your palms."
The lines that always get me are "if I bring you down and you're tired of those vows and you're really walking out.." I don't know how many times I listened to this song after my divorce
@Trndkillah Dude, how could I call myself a fan of Fallon if I hadn't heard Elsie? ;) bought it on release day! But I mean a re release of some Gaslight, just acoustically :) Wouldn't it be fantastic?
@ilovetrinamichaels haha laughed, i can see why. i definitely wasn't being overly dramatic, i did cry. i think there is actually plaintiveness and pleading to be found in the lyrics, right next to the anger and hurt, you know that backwards way you feel when someone you've got your heart set on lets you down, and you've still got your heart set on them anyways. well, the album version brings out the anger. the resigned wish that things could be different comes out here, and it just moved me.
even if you did it, it wouldn't make you gay bro.... i have about as big of a man-crush for this guy as as hetero guy can have and i feel comfortable with it. I've got two kids with my beautiful girlfriend and have never even been a little curious BUT if Brian Fallon wanted to get gay-married my kids would just hafta get used to havin two daddys. And he would sing us sweet lullabys with his angel voice and strum C,G,Am,and D over and over again every night.
nah, college, work, life, and motorcycles got in the way. I will give it a go once I finish my engine rebuild. Have a good day and sorry it took me so long to reply, I didn't see your message.

He has it all and shares it with us

Muito bom! Brian Fallon é grandioso!

It feels kind of mystical here with spring arriving and anything Brian Fallon is the perfect compliment to mystical times.

This Dude was given such an amazing gift. I can't stop listening to his music.

Gaslight definitely lights up my life! When Bruce loves what you do, you're doing it right.
Every time I find a new acoustic version of one of his songs, I just glow.
Why would anyone dislike this version it's awesome the man is a god and I can't wait to go see the gaslight again on 29th aug in London x
This makes me wish UA-cam had a "Love" button, not just "thumbs-up".
this is like the best acoustic version of brian fallon ever!!!
That heart at the end of the lyrics is simply amazing.. because reading the lyrics and listening to this song, you can just fell in love.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.... Hits So close to home... amazing.
My absolute favorite song by them... the words of this song speak volumes to me
that was the greatest thing i've ever heard in my entire life.
Scott Neuberger n
His music is so perfect to me.
They should record an entirely acoustic version of the album. I would listen to it all day, every day.
This is so unbelievably heartfelt, and totally amazing.
the first time I heard this I cried ... This got me through so many hard times with my divorce

Heartfelt and heart breaking....
Astounding,what a voice!
Sang with meaning .. Brilliant
2:25 So much sadder and more poignant in this quiet acoustic version
0 dislikes. Let's keep it that way. This is the stuff I live for.
he is just golden
Such a nice sounding guitar.
Thanks for posting this. Perfect, song really helped me get through some rough times with the old lady.
still my favorite.....
Lethal version! Love it

OH MY GOD, THIS WAS POSTED ON MY BIRTHDAY! it's a sign ;) fantastic performance from Fallon as always.

Love you, Brian.
I love songs!!!
This is painfully good!
Will "Handwriten" be this good??? I cant wait to see!!!
Chills!
i have no words..
I'm a big TGA fan, but brians unplugged versions are fantastic.
Who in there right mind would not love this?
Wow.
I want to hear him sing Hallelujah
It's on UA-cam (I know I'm late and you have probably stumbled across it by now :)
"Wait a minute, wait a minute..."
This may be my favorite Gaslight song
if she's better than my love, then go on, take it all :')
❤️❤️❤️
love it
i cried
You are true or not. Loyalty is ridiculously underrated. Relationships are hard but I will be with my guy till the end
he can just change any song.......even his own.......... seems there is a god
@sweetdee137 He really does, I've thrown one together from what recordings I could find, but I'd love for him to do an official acoustic album.
I just got dumped for the first time. It's strange to listen after so many years.
genius
I've said this before but it bears saying again: Why are all the great songs about loss and regret?
Because then you need them the most.
@mtbhk44 They tune almost all of their songs down a full step.
1:22. perfect.
@TheLimo64
He did. His side project called The Horrible Crows released an album a couple months ago. Check it out, it's excellent.
The lighting in the JJJ studio makes this video so fuckin sick
@Trndkillah Dude, how could I call myself a fan of Fallon if I hadn't heard Elsie? ;) bought it on release day! But I mean a re release of some Gaslight, just acoustically :) Wouldn't it be fantastic?
i love this! but maybe someone must make a higher version of this?
@SpLAt0saUr0uS yeah, he's commonly compared to the boss. i love the way he writes though
@jdemartino13 this guys cant do no wrong, I'm 500% sure it's gonna blow our heads.
Was this recorded in Australia I noticed the Triple J logo
Is he tuned down a whole step?
How are there any dislikes on this???
Anyone know this picking pattern - type thing he's doing?
@IfRainFallsIDance I love you explanation.
- Neil
Is Brian tuned down a whole step?

just tell me where to sign
Wanting to make to make gentle but passionate love with Brian Fallon doesn't make me gay. It's just that he is so awesome.
Okay. Perfect combination would be a project incorporating Brian Fallon, Mike Ness and Chuck Ragan. Agreement anyone?
oh my gosh does this sound like bruce springsteen to any one else, love him
even if you did it, it wouldn't make you gay bro.... i have about as big of a man-crush for this guy as as hetero guy can have and i feel comfortable with it.
"C,G,Am and D over and over again every night" that's funny
@mtbhk44 i think so brian does that alot
impossible, we've been married for 4 years... at least that's what I'm telling myself. LOL
Shit this was good - sounds like the guitar was tuned down almost a full step - any ideas?
@mtbhk44 Gaslight always tunes down a full step. :)
@mtbhk44 Yeah i think you are right
@IfRainFallsIDance ironically, I laughed when I read what you said. great song, but let's not be overly dramatic.
wait a minute, wait a minute, wasn't I good to you.
@BeerPower102 thats the difference between a songwriter and (just) a singer...
Or emotionally touched by something in his past
He's looks so sad at the end of the song
W
Gah I know the cords just not the picking pattern :( here goes 4 hours or more of my time
Care to share?
this seems accurate for the most part tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/t/the_gaslight_anthem/bring_it_on_crd.htm
Cool, thanks. Did you sus the picking pattern?
nah, college, work, life, and motorcycles got in the way. I will give it a go once I finish my engine rebuild. Have a good day and sorry it took me so long to reply, I didn't see your message.
Haha not at all! Enjoy your biking :)
