I’m sorry to hear that you got scammed, Nyastume, but I’m glad you posted this video, it’s a good PSA to let everyone know what to look out for when we’re looking to buy cards online! Please keep up the good work! (^-^)
@@Nyatsume I temper back in the day anyone can spot a fake Yu Gi Oh or Pokémon, now they are getting so close even on like Weis Schwartz, which I consider the best quality cards out of the playable card games.
Thank you for making this video. I started collecting Weiss Schwarz more because the artwork is generally prettier and the quality control is better than Yugioh cards in USA. I have also been scammed when purchasing graded yugioh cards that received a grade higher than they should have so as a beginner Weiss Schwarz collector, I have been buying my cards ungraded. This video makes me feel more confident that the ungraded cards I buy are real rather than having to buy an authenticated but wrongly graded card.
No problem, scammers don't deserve a place in WS and the more people that are informed means that scammers has less opportunities and hopefully move on from this 😊
Won't be able to recover my money but it was a lesson learnt. To be fair, I been buying a lot from Mercari Japan but it's a first time I encountered a fake. 😅 But with more and more high value cards in recent sets, scammers do have more incentives to push fakes.
Yes, the number of fakes in recent times are quite alarming. But with more and more high value cards, it is not surprising. We just have to be careful when buying cards online. 😅
I just order a lot of SR, RRR, PR and uncommon and common cards on TCG player. Good to know that fake one cannot get the back of the card right. Also has anyone seen fake booster boxes for theses card like Pokémon or is it only for the single signed cards that go for 100 to 1K+ Thanks for the video!
There isn't much value in faking booster boxes for Weiss Schwarz as the hit rates are low. Hence, most of the fakes are on the higher value cards, SP/SSP/SEC and regional/world promos 😅
🤣 Glad you enjoyed that moment. These are widely available on Aliexpress. Although through some official market places, there are people pushing these off as authentic. The one fake card I receive was from Mercari Japan. But I would say the number of fakes on official platforms is probably 1% or less.
So far, there has not been any fake booster boxes as far as I know. There is just too much effort to fake an entire boss. However, there is more incentives to fake certain high value cards instead. The only issue you face with booster boxes is that they may be "dead". An entire case contains 24 booster boxes, usually out of those 24, 3-4 boxes will contain the hits (SEC,SSP,SP,etc). What some sellers do is they will open boxes till they get all the hits and then try to sell the remaining "dead" boxes to unsuspecting buyers. So do check out reviews of the seller before buying any boxes 😊
Well, lesson learnt, don't be too eager to click on the buy button just because the price is good. Congrats on the BGS 10 Power btw! So close to a black label 🥲
Ugh, there's a Weiss Schwarz card priced more than a thousand dollars that I'm interested on Ebay, but after seeing your fakes, I'm scared to buy. Thanks for the video.
Definitely have to be more careful, check out the tips mentioned in this video as well as seller feedback, and if the sales can be done with buyer protection are ways to protect yourself during a transaction 😊
@@Nyatsume Yeah, thanks! The seller has a 100 percent positive rating with 600+ buyer feedbacks. And there is a 30 day return with shipping paid by seller. I checked the seller's photos of both front and back of the card and took your advice like looking at font, signature, and color scheme especially the back. It all looks good to me, and I decided to make the purchase. After I get it in about a week, I think I will also post photos of it on the Weiss Scharz subreddit and ask them if they think the card is legitimate to be more certain as well. Again, thank you so much for your video!
@@Nyatsume Oh great. The seller just messaged me and says he/she wants to cancel order because he/she discovered a defect with the card. Have you faced a similar incident like this before? Thank you for any answer/advice you may have on this matter.
@salkryeful I mean it's a good thing if the order is cancelled before it is even shipped. Usually people are paying the price for a near mint/mint copy if the condition is not stated. If the condition is not perfect, the price should be cheaper. I guess it depends if buyer and seller can agree on a price based on the condition 😊
@@Nyatsume So try to negotiate? And I am probably wrong to say defect. The actual words from seller is that the "card has serious problems." Whatever that means. Regardless, seller wants me to cancel, but I feel like there's something wrong if I start the cancellation process on Ebay. Just a gut feeling. But thanks for your comments and I appreciate any further input and advice.
It is the number at the bottom of the cards. In this example, you can see AZL (set name), S102 (set number), T55SP (T - from trial deck, 55 card number, SP rarity). Most fakes usually don't bother to get the serial number right.
thanks for the video, it s good tips, i should be carefull on my cards now, i have only origianals butg i dont have a lot, it s good idea this video, that s making an idea
i have to say they look good and i actualy love this fake card back, looks way cooler then the original one. Since i wanna have some good looking proxys, to use for playing, could you tell me where u bought them? Maybe i can get some of the fake cards for a fair price and have them print my proxys, so that i can build decks of older sets wich are impossible to come by nowadays :) OFC, i absolutly do not endorse to buy them to resell them, or use them on official tournaments, those are just for some kitchentable games.
There are plenty on Aliexpress and they do ship internationally. 😊 Do note that some of them do feature smaller card size compared to standard, so check out reviews as well.
Unfortunately, that is how proxy services like buyee operate. They don't have any authenticity guarantee. As buyers, we just have to do our due diligence to check the listing. 😥
I don't get it, What is the difference between the real one to the fake one ? Whatever they is , you show the highest rare card indeed ,so it that lowest rare card like common and uncommon also have fake ?
Usually anything below RR like R, uncommon and common are not worth the time and effort to fake. So if you buy those you should be good. The signatures on the other hand, SEC, SSP, SP can cost hundreds of dollars which means scammers have incentives to push their fake version of these cards. Difference between the real and fakes are in value. Usually signature cards in general go up in value as we seldom see reprints for Weiss Schwarz. Real cards can cost hundreds of dollars and above. Fake cards have little value and people depends on what someone would pay for a known fake.

Never knew that fakes can be this detailed! Thanks for the video :)
And my fear that fakes will only look more and more authentic as they refine their print process 😢

A real shame that happened to you. Best of luck with the whole situation.
It's ok, lucky it was not a more expensive card 😅 Considered it a lesson learnt for me.
Thank you for making this video, im sorry to hear this happened to you.

Definitely with more of such cards going around, don't want others to fall prey to these 😔

I am trying to get into Weiß Schwarz cards, thank you for posting this. Now I know what to look out for.
Glad that it helped! Fakes are getting better every day so one can never be too careful especially with high value cards 😥
sorry to hear it! wish you could get your money back.

Glad you found the video helpful! 😊
Appreciate this more than you know

Thanks for that useful information😊😊 Especially for me, a newbie in tcg😊😊
No problem, definitely for someone who is new might not noticed the signs. I don't want anyway to pay the actual value just to end up with a fake 😥
a bit late, but wow I had no clue that are fakes out there, good to know this overall

Damn. Don't forget the wing color of the button as well on both corners.
Good point! Weiss side have white wings while Schwarz side have black wings. Usually, fakes don't pay such attention to this too!
This catched up my interest, there's a game shop here nearby how could you tell fake booster boxes? I couldn't really tell they are very similar

I just watched it but the back for fakes like the bottom half weiss which is like black but for real it's sort of greyish
@tacos5488 Yes, definitely the color tone are usually off for the fakes. After a while, you can pick up on this 😊
Another thing with the emilia card is the fake one has a trigger while the real one doesn't
Thanks for pointing that out! Totally miss the trigger as the other flaws were jumping out at me more 😅

Its crazy to see the colours are much more virbant on the fakes
While the colours may be more vibrant, but Bushiroad just pay more attention to the source material for more accurate colour representation 😊

Not gonna lie fake cards go harder with foil
Yup, good thing Weiss Schwarz foils are pretty unique compared to other TCGs
