Do you feel like short stroking it has benefitted the recoil impulse noticeably?

Yes. It quickens the cyclic time so you get a rocking motion since AR’s were designed for a longer cartridge. It’s already a very soft shooter so it doesnt need the full travel to prevent the bcg from hammering parts.

@@ZEE0H6 any plans to try it with a hydraulic buffer?

@@jackwickerI currently have a kynshot RB5000HP that my buddy was selling in it. It just dampens the end of the stroke a bit more. Since I already have it, i’ll continue to use it. I dont feel that it’s a necessary component, I’d be just as happy with the carbine buffer setup that’s in this video.

@@ZEE0H6 gotcha. I have a maxim Defense Roller Delayed Buffer behind a conventional ar9 upper, and it's definitely an improvement over a blowback ar9 with a Kynshot buffer, but not on the level of the JP5 or how I imagine the MEAN upper is. Have you had the chance to compare your setup to a JP5?

@@jackwickerI havent had a chance to try a JP-5. The RO in the video is the only person I know that has shot one. His opinion was that it wasnt a big enough difference between a JP-5 and his GMR-15 setup. No idea what lockpiece or how the JP-5 he shot was setup. His GMR-15 handloads would not cycle my gun with the P lifter installed, so it must be a very soft load. He shot mine with factoty Fiocchi and was very impressed with it and looked into getting one.
