the sound of his middle (normal) to low staff and how vibrant and loud they are i can only describe it as it itches my ears and brain in a way that no trumpet tuba trombone french horn or any brass instrument has scratched simply amazing how this legend has aged like fine wine wish you well mister sandoval
Coming at the trumpet from somebody who plays trombone (though I'm more of a string player), I can get down to the G below pedal C no problem. But G at the top of the treble clef? I maybe catch it for half a second 5% of the time. I can sing a major 9th higher than that with my singing voice but I definitely do not yet understand how to translate that into playing high notes yet. I am convinced that he is accurate that it comes down to practicing, which is not something I can really afford to do justice to on trumpet at this point in my life. Maybe one day.
@TheNameIsGamestar of course not. He told the kids use only one setup, but in the video, he resets to go beyond High C. When it comes to trumpet playing, a few are gifted like him. That's my legend ...I respect wholeheartedly the man.
High notes aren't important. Not sure why there's so much focused on that. Most music doesn't call for it and neither does most improv situations. I don't waste time and effort on high notes. Not sure where this high note nonsense came from as a measure for playing ability or prestige. It's dumb!!
It's wrong to say they're not important. Really wrong. They're not the MOST important thing or even the second most important thing....but they get you gigs sometimes. Better to be able to do it and not need it than the other way around.
You obviously don't play much bigband, contemporary big band(movie scores and broadway) or latin music. Upper reqister is very inportant for 1st and second trumpet. Drump corp also.
Expanding your range helps flexibility within your range (if learned properly). Idk anyone who can play, say, Petroushka well that doesn't also have a good upper register
This trumpet super star is teaching children? Adorable!!

Arturo is my favorite contemporary artist, love him!
He is amazing
Awesome
I’m not even a trumpet player and he explains it so lucidly that I believe I could do it with a little practice.

The gods of compression have to agree. The stars of compression have to align.
not only tongue but air stream should go exactly in to the throat of mouth piece...It was interesting anyway...
What if I’m a lady and naturally Soprano…
He resets to go beyond High C!🤔 Don't do that to the kids my legend.... By the way thats the fattest low and pedal C i ve ever heard ! 😅👌🏾🔥🎶
You really trying to tell the trumpet legend how to play the trumpet? I don't see you with any Grammy's

@@TheNameIsGamestar Yeah , really .
@@TheNameIsGamestarwhen he was younger and his high notes were better, he did not do that reset of his mouthpiece to go above high C.
@@TheNameIsGamestarAre you saying it's a good thing to reset?

Okay. So you don't play show charts.
