Man, I started following Ben ten years ago. I was so inspired by his Instagram that I changed mine to reflect his style, with vibrant colours and happiness. I am not an influencer, but I tried to watch most of his videos. Now, at 28, I've gone through the ups and downs of life that everyone goes through. Whenever I watch Ben go through similar situations, I always feel for him like he's my brother. Sometimes I think about what has happened over all these years, and I reflect on where I am right now, Knowing that I am nowhere near him. Everyone faces struggles somehow, and I am glad to see him getting up and picking things up. Thanks, Ben!

I met Roaman while travelling 10 years ago. I actually met him through Sam Garrett who I met on a rainbow gathering in Spain and recognised from your vlogs. That feels like a very long time ago.. I used to live a very alternative and free life. Travelling on somewhat of a spiritual journey discovering more about myself, life and existence itself. Since becoming a mother 6 years ago I have found happiness in a sort of "normal" life. Living in one place, making a home and finding routines. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Hey Ben! I admire you speaking about social media and becoming more present in your life. I’m a yoga teacher, teaching through a pandemic online… as you can imagine it was a lot. I no longer have an online presence with my yoga business which I had built over a number of years. It is sad in a way. However, it made me realise how deeply unhappy I was being on my phone and creating so much content online that felt like it was getting lost and standing in just an echo chamber . It was really refreshing listening to you, made me feel a little less alone in our new digital world! So thankyou, new job sounds great 🥰
My addiction to the internet and my phone is a similar experience to yours. It has a negative effect on my life, my relationship with myself and others and most importantly, my overall health. Definitely having a similar experience, Ben. I deleted Instagram 5 weeks ago, after realising that it contributed nothing to my life. I don't have any social media now, only UA-cam for entertainment. I feel lighter and do not reach for my phone anymore. I hope more people my age (I'm 25) can experience similar. Good to see you Ben.

Time for humanity as a whole to discern what is good and what is not in terms of internet usage. We've ploughed head first without thinking, into a world less connected while thinking it was more so. It's complex as we have personal relationships maintained via the internet that can put extra pressure on things, but I think it's time we make it serve us than visa versa, IRL over everything!

Brother this is awesome, your journey and your look on life, experiences is meaningful. As you grow and learn, constantly challenging yourself and not afraid to deal with real life. Trying new things and see what works for you and what doesn’t is important. Internet limits is and puts in a box and of course depending how we use social media, what we share. It’s all about wether it’s with purpose and our choice, we must continue grow and evolve outside of social media and bring our growth and knowledge to social media to inspire and to help others
I'm so pleased you have a job, and in an industry that you enjoy - I hope this van life idea fades - it's a lonely life and sooooo done already, do van weekends instead if you must. Real life is family and friends, having hobbies and passions. I bought into YOU, all those years ago, and that's what I like now.
You have an audience, of people who just like what you get up to, you don't have to try hard, just include us every so often and we will still watch.

It sounds like you are on a very good path. I once was on a path to try to make a living on UA-cam making videos (didn’t ever come anywhere close. Haha!). But having income coming from other sources and just being able to enjoy making videos that I enjoy making is truly a breath of fresh air and a feeling of freedom for sure. Having a reason and purpose for making videos other than views and money really takes pressure and stress out of a persons life and makes it feel more meaningful. God bless!

Hi Ben, I hope you get the chance to read this. I have been a follower of yours since the old days. (2015 more or less)
I think the main reason you lost most of your audience might be because your channel became very introspective. And to be honest, there is nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't scream out to the wider (youthful / younger) audience that wants instant gratification and immediate laughs. But I will say this - your "newly introspective" take on life and intellectual views DO indeed apply to some people. Myself included.
I guess the big question is ... where do you want your revenue and audience to come from? Do you be genuine and do what you do now or keep things a bit more compact and less deep? It totally up to you at the end of the day. But just know I still listen to your words and appreciate them fully. Much love - keep going brother (Fellow Cape Townian)
