I have quite a few CD VIDEO discs purchased back in the day. Regrettably ALL of these discs have disc rot on the video tracks, but the 3 audio CD tracks play perfectly fine. It's interesting, as the rot issue was normally caused by the glueing of the 2 discs on a LD etc etc, whereas CD VIDEO is basically just like the production is a CD. I would love to know why...?! Great video BTW 👏🤗

Thanks, sorry for the gap in YT vids, it's been a hectic year and I need to work out more streamlining of these videos. Happy new year!

My fave 8 inchers are laserjuke discs. Made for the video jukebox they are 2 sided discs with 5 songs on each side. My oldest disc is 1990 and my newest is 2002. Some great music.

That's awesome, I've never seen Laser Juke discs in person but I've always wanted to know what they are like. Are they a mix of artists / genres or does one disc pretty much hold to the same artist / genre?

@OfficialSoundtracker yup. They're a compilation. Mostly the big hits of that fortnight. (I'm speaking about the Aussie discs btw cause that's the ones I collect.)
Some discs are themed like music that would be popular at a pride march or music vids with lots of skimpy outfits like boys boys boys by sabrina. Or pub rock discs. Etc. But mostly they were just the latest hits. The audio is analog only. But the bass is often raised to give the music more presence.
I used to love popping 2 bucks for 3 songs in the laserjuke jukeboxes that would be hooked up to the tvs at the bowling alleys or at pool halls etc. My collection is at about 80 and I'd love to find more but sadly pioneer were pretty strict with the discs and kept a tight leash on them.

There were 2 Image Entertainment Catalog discs that were CAV and physically 1-sided, you viewed them in still frame format showing the covers and info on the titles.
“Video single discs” still had to conform to CDV standards which is why they have the silent CD audio tracks on them. The most common one in the US is a promo disc with the trailer for Terminator 2.
Never seen that adaptor in person, wonder what the underside looks like and if you could do the same thing by stacking 2 single discs in an older player?

I have Volume 2 of these catalog discs. I bought it specifically because it was the cheapest 8 inch LD I could find and with good reason. Like you mentioned, practically the entire disc minus the intro is still frames you step through showing disc covers and info. A cool curiosity to own, but very boring to "watch."

I have recently aquired the Big Money CD Video, but my video is kinda glitchy. I also picked up finally the uncut Show of Hands LD

Where do you find these? I would love one for my player although most music videos from that era are pretty boring to me. Herbie Hancock's Rockit would be awesome.
