My husband had to go to Texas for his work and he attended this church while he was there. We have enjoyed listening to your teachings since then. What a blessing it has been to us both. I so wish we lived in Texas. We would attend your church for sure. In the meantime we will continue to listen to your teachings. ♥
I am planning a vacation down to Flower Mound to come see and experience what I have been listening to and watching g over the years. Thank you for giving the opportunity for those not in the Texas area
David Brooks? C'mon Matt. Don't recommend establishment liberals, under the guise of conservative, which is nothing more than mainstream media. I do dislike both sides. Which is why I'm Maga! Both sides hate Trump and his allies. Which includes both sides.
Mr. Middle of the road. Hate both sides. We do not view Mr. Trump as messianic. Stop. You're being dishonest. We love somone who has ripped the scab off Washington. Yes, Maga is talking policy. Look at the first term. He kept his word. You're being dishonest Matt. Love you. Be honest. You're playing the fickle middle.
When Matt spoke truth, that is, when he spoke from Scripture, he was spot on, of course, and his bit about the objectivity of policy over personality can't be overstated. However, when it came to his opinion, I really didn't understand the vitriol against Trump. I just found it out-of-place...like he knew something very personal about President Trump that I didn't 🤔. My only other minor criticism is that I'd think that those Evangelicals who deify Trump are on the fringes, not representing the majority of U.S. believers. Not that I get around much, but I've yet to meet IRL or see online a single person who appeared to be in danger of mistaking Trump for Messiah. Maybe I'm wrong. As long as Americans understand that their relationship with politicians is transactional, then, yeah, have fun with it. In my mind, going nuts about a presidential candidate makes a lot more sense than going nuts about a football game.
Reality. When Obama was creating racial division and our country burned, the church would not blame the perpetrators. Certain people, I have quotes, went woke. And then claimed "I'm just going with the Word of God." Trump cannot bring peace to the middle east. Only Jesus will someday. But again publicly displaying derangement syndrome, and saying you don't trust. Abraham accords brought as much peace as we will have in a fallen world. Economy lifted all boats, with minorities experiencing the greatest gains in history. Zero wars started. Greatest support for religious freedoms of any president in our lifetime. He did what he said, despite 4 years of false attacks from BOTH sides proven over and over. Russia, Charlottesville , etc. And Matt doesn't trust him and can't figure out why the church stands with this flawed man? Matt is a mentor to me. But as Piper says, sometimes words are like wind. They need to pass and disappear. And I let this lukewarm speech pass like chaff. Matt should NOT endorse anyone. But he should use language to strongly state the sides could not be more polarized and one side is clearly more biblical than the other. But he will drone on about how both are terrible, which has been true until Trump showed up and exposed both sides as corrupt and against the people. If the church does not show up or allows the other side to steal, I will return to my quiet life doing God's work and not vote again. If this doesn't awaken the church, nothing will but destruction. And maybe that's what God will allow. I just won't have any love loss for whining christians who could only point out the log in Trump's eye. Glad Matt mentioned David, but then he used it to hate Trump instead of a reason to recognize God uses sinners for good.
Well said, and I agree. “Confounding both the left and the right! Bravo!”
