Recommendation for your next GX mod/upgrade: add Crawl Control & Multi-Terrain Select ( full DIY guide and discussion pinned @ forum.ih8mud.com/forums/gx460-prado150.271/ )
Make that quad thumbs. That's how I learned to drive, except that I was on the other end of the height scale until I turned 12. I very clearly remember my very first time at the wheel. I'm sure my sisters do too. [cough] =)
Thank you for picking up after others. It breaks my heart every time I see what others left. I don't understand the mentality, but all I can do is to pick-up what I can. We need to respect this beautiful world. I love watching you guys. Keep sharing these beautiful places, stories and smiles.
I'll add another vote to go back and watch from the start. At the very least watch the playlists -- "The Enchanted Rockies Trail" (aka In the beginning), "Overlanding the North Country" (aka Season 1), "Season 2 - Lifestyle Overland", and "High Country Overland Trail Series (Season 3)". There are lots of other videos, but the playlists above are the main story, and worth EVERY minute. (Disclaimer: These videos can be highly addicting. Addiction can be habit forming. Withdrawl symptoms can be harsh. YMMV)
I love watching how the two of you instill such great values to Caroline and giving her such great experiences that she will look back on for the rest of her life. You are doing it right!
Some of my best memories are teaching my kids to drive just exactly like you did. Caroline is going to grow up respecting our public lands as much as you do. Please tell her that I'm one of her biggest fans. It's always fun watching her antics. Hope to see you out there one day so I can meet you all in person. Ted and Monica, Black Pearl Voyager
Thank you guys for the great trip idea! This week we had our first real Overland trip and did sections of the Enchanted Rockies trail started from I40 heading North trough Pecos, and then we did set out to find this Epic Campsite, and we did! :-) The road from Espanola NM West is an awesome trip, we spent two night on "Top of the World" and we loved it! New Mexico changed in our eyes forever for the better. With Love from Texas!
I'm heartened you're so respectful and responsible while enjoying the natural world when so many are not. Keep up the excellent and wholesome vids...especially in our mutual state: New Mexico! Land of Enchantment. 🏜👍
I can not tell you how much I loved this video. I used to let my kids sit in my lap and steer or drive when we were out in the sticks. Safely of course. Now, I just started letting my granddaughter steer while we creep down a only, desolate, dirt road. Life long memories are being made. She will always remember it.
Absolutely love this. My little one is her age and our adventures are not near as exciting, but I am trying to show her life through adventure. Funny how their personalities are so much alike...little comments while looking at an iPad hit home. They'd probably be best friends if they ever met....one day, my 4R will be right behind you. Hey, one can dream! Appreciate the content.
I've been to the most remote places and still have found trash left behind. Major props for going above and beyond with your "pack it in, pack it out" practices. 👍
Thank you for caring about the land and picking up other people's trash. We've always packed out more that we took in, too. People need to understand that it's easy to close off public lands simply by designating them as wilderness. So, you're exactly right. We remember 20+ years ago our son, and later our daughter, when either of them were about 4 years old, taking control of the wheel of our old manual 1980 Ford pickup here on a back country road in Southeast Arizona. We'll never forget it. More importantly, what a beautiful video and an example of the beauty of family! Thank you!
thanks again for the memory. I remember sitting in my dad's la; in the old 55 ford station wagon driving down a dirt road listening to the gravels to keep in the lanes.
Guys, you're an amazing family. These adventures are the best holidays your little girl will remember more than any other trip she makes in her life. Pure quality family time for the king, queen and little princess. Keep doing exactly what you're doing guys
A wonderful montage, and a distinguished team that deserves to be followed up. Thank you for what you and your family offer to the viewer. I hope that you will visit us in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You are welcome at any time.
Love your channel and all the adventures! My wife got me that same aluminum French Press and I love it. Nothing beats campfire coffee pressed out of that unit!
Yep, always, ALWAYS leave trails and campsites cleaner than you found them. It's easy to pick up the litter others leave behind. I always love the warm, self-righteous feeling it gives me too!
One of my favorite memories is of my dad letting me drive his 1979 GMC home from grandmas house one night. In town of all places. She will remember that for ever.
Great Video, as always. Watching and listening to Caroline drive must made me smile. It's been fun watching her grow up. Thanks for your work in cleaning up after others. I do the same. It drives me crazy that I need to do that and that people aren't willing to clean up after themselves. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the great videos.
Love this video..Heart warming and having your daughter drive and learn the ropes of Overlanding..I have a smile in my heart ...Well done! Great Parents!
Thinkin' Kevin musta been dicing onions while Caroline was as drivin'... Guys, thank you for another great video, and for being true ambassadors of the outdoors, outdoors peeps, and outdoor recreation, you're the best!
Enjoyed your video. I loved the part when you're teaching your little girl to drive off road. I remember my two girls when they were that small. They are much older now but they are still "my little girls". I use to off road in Colorado but now I'm a Desert Runner in Arizona. Take care and be safe.
Ah, that Alan Jackson hit "Drive", comes to mind. First thing I ever drove was the family power boat, at age 11. Felt like king of the world! Can't imagine how excited Caroline was!!! Good job, kiddo!!
From the car seat, to the booster seat, to the back seat, to the passenger seat, and now to the drivers seat, u know you will never be able to get rid of that silver family member now! Special moments and I am so glad we got to share them with y'all😎
This is turning out to be a great series. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Watched your channel from the beginning to the end when I was in the hospital in February. Watching your trip to the Arctic Circle inspired us to start planning and eventually move into our jeep. Keep up the amazing content!
95th percentile?! Wow! It must have been all that good cooking from momma bear. Or all the time spent outside in the fresh air running around like a kid with access to the great outdoors. Love the video and your family. Keep up the good work.
I was loving the video until I saw you picking up other people’s trash. You may not be angry about it, but WE certainly are. Thank you for caring and sharing.
BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS SCENERY VIDEO ! CAMERA IS AWESOME ! LITTLE ONES GROW UP SO FAST ! BEAUTIFUL CAMPSITES & SKIES ! GOING TO HAVE TO TRY MAMMA BEARS RECIPE LOOKED SO GOOD . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! THANK YOU ! ENJOYED !
I'll be passing through this area in late October. I never heard of Valle Caldera until researching this trip a few months ago. It looks like one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Hoping it'll be open.
Proud dad moment with Caroline behind the wheel. And thank you for helping keep our lands clean so the next person can enjoy. Is that a specific garmin window mount for your mini?
I thought it was called The Land of Enchantment, not the land of ENTRASHMENT! On a much better note, That was an AWSOME job driving Caroline!!! Keep up those great skills!!
I'm not sure if I liked you guys being separated in two different rigs. But awesome video, huge fan. Also, good job caroline!! Before you know it you'll have your own rig
We watch your channel a lot. We are awaiting a TetonX overland trailer in October so we like to get ideas from your channel. I love Sara's recipes and am planning on trying the "blackened chicken alfredo" and the "egg roll in a bowl" meals as some of our first meals when we get our trailer. We live in Los Alamos so we loved this most recent video. I am assuming you were on Road 144. It is beautiful up there. I must add that since the beginning of May, the Jemez has been "packed" with people and their RV's/campers. I am surprised that you were even able to find an area that did not already have people in it. Trash has been a big problem. I understand people wanting to get outside because of Covid but "yes" they definitely need to take their trash with them.
Love watching your family, adventures and your sweet baby girls reaction to the wonders you undercover on your journeys. Thank you for cleaning up after others. We all need to do the same. If we all picked up even a small bag of trash we would have a cleaner country for the next generation. PS. Can you list your recipe that looked so yummy. Just couldn’t tell what sauces you were adding! 😊
Awesome video of the Valle, I live about 2 hours from there. I was up in Valle Vidal a couple weeks ago, another beautiful area. I agree with you, people either need to clean up after themselves or stay out of wilderness areas and public lands .
OMG Kevin ,you nailed it with the pass-afire Thank you guys for cleaning up after the uneducated land users . makes you wonder what there residence looks like .
Can you post the details of that easy and delicious looking egg roll in a bowl recipe? Mainly the type of salad kit and was that soy sauce or hoisin? Have enjoyed your wholesome content for a couple years now. Congratulations and great job!
I pledge to pick up an extra bag of trash, i'm going to carry extra trash bags when i'm out to pick up the trash. I'm gonna do my part. Thanks for this wonderful video!
Wow, Kevin you guys are doing an awesome job teaching Caroline. I have been ready busy with work since you guys transition to the Lexus, but man.... Has Caroline grown up so much since the Alaska trip and looks more like a carbine copy of your wife. By the way, This place that you all Camp at looks amazing, except for the rat people trying to destroy the land with all that litter. Please keep these awesome adventures coming.....
K....Just sayin.....The Cook Partner is the only stove I've been able to use at over 10,000 feet elevation without a problem. I have a couple Camp Chef outfitter type stoves.... Love them but the Cook Partner is something really awesome and special!! Just noticed the new stove and wanted to chime in! I'm sure you still use it in your Trailer!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your effort to keep things clean. Drifta (Check them out) in Australia have started a campaign to get trash out of the bush! They have bags they send (two to you) and you carry out one of your own and one that others left behind! AMAZING...I would love to see this started here in the US. Imagine...if everyone going into the natural setting came out with a little more trash than they took in....we would have this whole country cleaned up in no time...and the natural things...animals...would love having a clean home again! Anyway..love it!

Double thumbs up for letting Caroline drive!! I remember my Dad did that for me and my brother, memories forever!
Teach em young 😍
Careful, may need a 3rd rig ...
Make that quad thumbs. That's how I learned to drive, except that I was on the other end of the height scale until I turned 12. I very clearly remember my very first time at the wheel. I'm sure my sisters do too. [cough] =)
this video needs more views. more Dads needed like this in this world.

Hermosa familia❤️gracias por lo que hacen, nos alegran los sentimientos.. desde Buenos Aires - 🇦🇷Argentina, abrazo fraternal... Dios los bendiga 😏❤️🙏
First video I've seen from this channel. I really love that you were collecting trash, showing the respect our Earth deserves.

I'm impressed she drives better than most people on the road and she's just a kid. Great work
I can not tell you how much I loved this video. I used to let my kids sit in my lap and steer or drive when we were out in the sticks. Safely of course. Now, I just started letting my granddaughter steer while we creep down a only, desolate, dirt road.

You are right that campsite is beautiful. And yes some people who leave their trash, shouldn't be in the woods. Love the video.
Great video of family time and EPIC views to compliment Sarah's eggroll salad dish, which is a great twist to one of my favorite asian salad kit.👍🏽👌🏽
Love your channel and all the adventures! My wife got me that same aluminum French Press and I love it. Nothing beats campfire coffee pressed out of that unit!
Thanks for all you do. Stay safe and happy travels.

Love those off-road driving scenes without the music

It's interesting to watch yall transition from the turtleback to the way back in the back of the car! This is my overland style :)
I get so angry that people leave their garbage behind!!! THANK YOU FOR CLEANING!
