For example, when you control Sonic you are slow as hell compared to the cut scenes / movie / animation. He can run 767 miles per hour. So yeah, you defiantly aren't running that fast when you are playing as him. This example is universal to many games like Smash Bros, God of War, Star Wars whatever it maybe. You really thinking Krillin can beat Super Saiyan Blue Goku like in Dragon Ball FighterZ OR Piranha Plant beat Ganon in a real fight compared to Smash Bros.

This video hurts my eyes. Death battle, again, used non-canon sources and facts pulled out of their ass so their favorite character wins. Now look, I do like Luigi better than Tails, but that isn't a reason to call me biased. Luigi is not weak, he lifted a castle effortlessly, busted metal, and most likely can punch through a planet. He has survived being on the sun and an entire black hole and supernova. There is a large chance that Luigi is faster because he outran a black hole in space. He is also very intelligent, but while Tails is smarter, he isn't a big strategist. He only uses his intelligence for building and repairing. He has much more attacks than only his smash moves, thunder hand and his hammer. The animation was cool and all until the death, because Luigi easily tanked getting crushed by a godly hammer and getting hit by gods. If you don't agree, I can just block you because I don't feel like debating.

Devin Gay Luigi is way cooler than Tails in my opinion, and at first I thought he would win, but after watching this Death Battle I acknowledged defeat. Just because he lost here doesn't make him any less cool than he was before. If anything, I now have a newfound respect for Tails. Anyone who can defeat Luigi has got to be a powerful character.

Hold the hell up. You guys clearly stated that Tails gets dizzy easily. You also stated that Luigi's Negative Zone inflicts a multitude of effects, the main ones being slow movement and dizziness. And if I remember correctly, if a character was *airborne* while inside the Negative Zone, they immediately fell to the floor and stood up in a dizzy state. Now the turning point in this fight should have been when Luigi unleashed his power, but instead we got this: 1. Tails was barely affected by the zone. He slowed down, dodged the hammer and then started *flying away*. 2. Luigi barely took advantage of this situation. All he did was swing his hammer and then resort to the vacuum, only to throw it right after, sit there for a bit and have it blow up on him. Look, I know Luigi isn't some sort of super genius, but come on now. You guys know he isn't affected by his own power and isn't a total bonehead, so you could have at least have him do a little more than THAT. By the way, sorry for making this so goddamn long. It's pretty dumb, I know.
you clearly don't know how death battle works, right? the fight is never to be judged, is nothing else than a visual meant to be a fight losely based on the results, just to show off the characters skills and to show a winner and a loser, it will always have problems, because its not important, anyone that judges the animation automatically loses the argument. also, tails gets dizzy easily in impacts only, it doesn't make sense that a self taught pilot will easily get dizzy, ohh and, tails has an item that prevents dizziness, your complains has been addressed.

I had a feeling Tails would probably get it (even though I like Luigi and was rooting for him), but not for the reason he won in the video. If he can run 100 Mph without using his tails to boost his speed, then I'm curious why that didn't play a bigger part during the fight. Honestly I think that would have been the biggest deciding factor here.

A huge reason of to why Tails won this death battle, is because he used Strategy against fighting. Luigi is there to be a sidekick, to fight along Mario. Tails is a flying fox cub who, first off, CAN FLY. He has an IQ of 300, as he uses that to make all the stuff he's made over 25+ years. Yes, tails also fights, but he fights with gadgets. And uses his knowledge against egg man. I already knew that Tails had it the first time I had seen this.
My one real complaint is the strength thing. I've seen Luigi easily lift things much heavier than that radish, and they only took the word of one game to confirm that Tails can SLOWLY DRAG a 10 ton weight. Also keep in mind that he was using a gadget which could have improved his ability to do so.

Plus, they let Luigi use his negative zone, something exclusive to one non-canon crossover game and I don't see anyone complaining about that. These versions were complete composites.

Dude I stopped listening to Death Battle when they totally bullshit Superman Versus Goku with that dumb Golden Age Superman scam. They didn't even take into consideration that it took superman years to acquire that energy. and that Goku isn't that stupid. That Goku has done FTL and can freaking spam IT (Instant Transmission) and that moving planets has nothing to do when you are in the middle of a fight. They never took into consideration that the strength of a SSJ one Kame Hame Ha can blow up Earth and that he can traverse half of Namek in a second. Death Battle is not the end all be all in versus battles, they are still human but people need to stop holding them so highly.
While I am a huge fan of luigi, I gotta agree that he isnt all that bright.Luigi also isnt that great of a strategist in battle. I was hoping luigi would win but I expected tails to come out on top. There is also alot more they could have done with tails considering the outrageous shit he did in the comic.

Ok, after a few days and seeing everyone's complaints, I think I have the answers for most of the problems people have with this, so here we go. 1. First off, the animation's for entertainment purposes only, any nitpick that "Luigi should've killed Tails here" can be countered, but complaints regarding that will be implemented into this list. Besides, Tails could've killed Luigi when he used the flash grenade. 2. "Tails is scared of lightning and Luigi has lightning powers, Luigi wins!" Having a fear of lightning and seeing someone with electric powers isn't a guaranteed win. Luigi is scared of A LOT of things yet he's able to conquer them, same can be applied with Tails. Besides, in the opening of Rush Adventure, Tails had no problem with the lightning storm he and Sonic were going through. 3. "Luigi's Negative Zone didn't do anything!" It made Tails trip and made him slower, 2 effects. 4. "No-one can escape the Negative Zone, it should have devastated Tails!" Actually it's easy to get out. Even if I get the sleeping effect or dizzy at first, I'm able to escape because Luigi spends the first half dancing so I'm able to get out before he gets me. You can also avoid effects with a shield roll or b up move. Tails has a shield and his flying may as well be Pit's wings of Palutena. You need brains and speed to escape the Negative Zone, and Tails has both. Also his rhythm badge does help keep his balance. 5. "Luigi didn't have as much items in this fight while Tails got a lot!" Mario vs Sonic proved that standard power ups countered each other, so there's no point in using them again. Luigi doesn't have as much in his unique arsenal as much as Tails because Nintendo didn't give him too much to differentiate from Mario, while Tails is an inventor so he uses more items than Sonic. 6. "They didn't make Tails tired with his flight and he went higher than usual!" They did make him tired once when Luigi used the flower, and Tails has proven to fly for longer periods of time and higher heights than the some games portray it. 7. "That magic hand was rigged!" You want a different killing move? Fine. Tails cuts off Luigi's head with a high speed tails slash, a regular one can cut metal so imagine what one at high speeds can do. 8. "Luigi has elemental medals in the poltergust, why weren't they used?" Does Luigi or Tails have a torch, sink, or freezer with them? That's why. 9. "Mr. L and Brobot!" Mr. L is Luigi brainwashed, and building a mechanical robot is a Mr. L feat, not Luigi. That's like if the Zelda vs Peach DB was Shadow Queen Peach vs Ganon Possessed Zelda. All of these characters require someone controlling them, AKA Outside Help. 10. "Both Mario Bros lost to Sonic characters, Screwattack's staff are Sonic fanboys!" Try comparing the amount of Mario videos on this channel to Sonic videos. Plus favoritism is taken out of DB. If they used favoritism, Batman, Chun-Li, Haggar and Goku would've won their battles.

Also, about number 7, I actually wish the animator had done that instead, because while I agree with the outcome, that final blow did seem rather anti-climatic, phoned-in, and half-assed.

Mario is fast comparing his running to a 5-30 miles. His 5K time would be about 17-15, nearly 4 minutes and 22 seconds slower than the world record holder in the 5000 meters. Luigi runs faster and jump higher than Mario and is capable of kicking his legs back and forth at an extremely fast pace. and as I've stated before, Luigi is capable of running on water so he is more than likely no slouch when it comes to speed. It's to be noted that in both L's M games, all the ghosts can act around the mansion with physical properties meaning their contact, their height and most importantly their weight. Mr. Luggs is a very good example especially he was captured in the Poltergust 3000, and remember, 5000 is an upgrade to the original, so it's more than possible that the Poltergust 5000 can suck up bombs and withstand explosions and work properly just like I've said before. Luigi has both natural Pyrokinesis and Electrokinesis so he really doesn't need any power up to activate these powers. his fire is capable of defying gravity, and both kinetic properties can be added into his attacks to give more damage. His Ultra hammer can reflect any kind of oncoming projectile and destroy any kind of mineral there is. not to mention he has the option to charge the attack up so it can hit harder. The Vanish Power Flower makes him Invisible and intangible to any attacks and Finally the Negative Zone is Forged of Luigi's Shadows and Negative Energy which damages foes and slows them down on contact. the actual random effects are dizziness, sleeping, tripping, and taunting. Durability - Luigi has more durability attributes than tails - Can survive a supernova, while Tails can't survive a collision towards earth from the moon - Can survive underwater - Can fall from any height or surface without and sign of damage - Can survive travels at the speed of light through outer space without a spaceship - Luigi's clumsiness makes him get his head stuck into nearly anything while using his green missile so it's more than likely Luigi can crush more minerals than brick especially with his head Verdict: Tails only seems to outclass Luigi in Speed and IQ. Luigi easily trumps everything else. His Poltergust can suck in any of Tails' gadgets or weapons that could help him win. Even if Tails could rework the Poltergust into a bomb and take it out of play completely, Luigi could easily endure the explosion and use his hammer to reflect the magic hand or any of his bombs and even destroy his gadgets by jumping on them or crushing them with his hammer. If the two got into a hand-to-hand combat fight, Luigi would instantly win due to being stronger and having more combat experience. and honestly, if Luigi even hit Tails once, he should be seriously damaged Because despite being weaker than Mario, Luigi's punches are practically like explosions of damage and pain. then only weakness that could impact him hard in this fight would be his low traction. Actually no, they are, "canon in their own way" they're not canon to the video games. Thats pretty much it. If you choose to use them you could if you wanted. Theres no exact proof that it's canon or not

There are a number of videos here on UA-cam that have the "Luigi wins *insert Mario Party game* by doing absolutely nothing" thing in its title. Never thought that'd come in as one of Luigi's achievements.
He's even Killed 3 level 50 Sonic Amiibos at once by doing absolutely nothing! Now, I'm no expert on what's considered "Canon" in the Smash games, but if the Kid Icarus and Kirby Franchises treat it as actual events that happened in their timelines, I'd say we are safe to say that Luigi could kill anything at this point.

Tails never used gadgets either, and luigi used the negative zone, his lightning power, his polter-gust 5000, spin jump, jump punch, and he DID use an invisibility flower at 9:54, and also his hammer, scuttle jump, time-bomb, and even "Koopa Surfed" not too far after his invisibility move. So yeah. All tails used was his raygun, spin attack (No reference to screw attack intended), flight, spin dash, healing thing that has a name that is hard to remember, bombs, grapple ring, magic glove and shield power-up. Luigi used: 10 Tails used: 9 Pretty fair.

Yeah no, the only advantages that Tails has over Luigi are: Speed (as Super Tails) Agility (as Super Tails) Intelligence Other than that, Luigi *destroys* Tails in every category, Tails would have to turn Super to even stand a chance against our favourite Italian sidekick. Luigi was able to stand his own against Dreamy Bowser, can scale to Mario who defeated Culex, both feats were done by base form characters, whereas Tails' best base form feat was comparing to Ultimate Emerl who was Galaxy level compared to Luigi's Multiversal feats. Even Super Tails' best feat was defeating the Phantom King and Egg Reverie, both of whom were Low-Multiversal, still pales in comparison to Luigi. Power-Ups? Luigi has hundreds of them to use, he can simply put on the White Tanooki (Which makes him completely invincible to weaker opponents) and defeat Tails that way. Combat experience? Luigi has had decades worth or experience, Tails is only 8, meaning that Luigi has been taking on bad guys before Tails was even born. Seriously, once Luigi fights seriously, any hope for Tails to win would crumble. This isn't like the 'Mario vs Sonic' debate, there, Mario and Sonic are basically equal in a base to base fight, (With Mario having a slight upperhand) over there, once Sonic turned Super he would instantly one shot Mario. (Because Complex Multiversal outright godstomps Multiversal+) If Sega actually gave Tails more time in the spotlight, he would've had a better chance against Luigi, but for now, the result would be a Luigi victory. This video downplayed both characters tremendously, especially Luigi.
Did you just say Game Sonic is multiversal? That's wrong on so many levels. The only multidimensional beings are Solaris (To a very lesser extent time eater) and he only defeated Solaris with help and that's the strongest Final Boss in the games. Well they did neglect to mention things like Luigi lifted a castle (way more than 10 tons) and that him beating the reality warper Dimensio is more impressive than any victory Tails has achieved (that I know of). Though I'm honestly not butthurt because the animation was sweet and I like both characters
Luigi was also shown being able to lift King Bob-bomb and swing/throw Bowser in Super Mario 64 DS. He may not be able to move as quickly as his brother while carrying large objects but he's still pretty strong regardless.
@ShadowNathan 777 However you have to remember in a fight featuring "Brawn vs Brain" brain usually wins. Tails is pretty clever and calculating. A majority of Luigi's "fighting tactics" sees him throwing himself aimlessly at his opponents. While Luigi may be stronger, Tails is no stranger to dealing with stronger opponents who can easily beat him in strength. Tails pretty much played Luigi right into his hands. Remember despite all the strength Luigi has, in the Luigi Mansion games (specifically Dark Moon) he doesn't have the sharpest reaction timing nor is he that bright.

Really How about how the featless wonder. Metal Sonic, who literally has been destroyed and rebuilt a hundred times over. Who's outright failed every single time he's fought. One shotting all of Doctor Wiley's Superior robot masters. Or how Eggmans weaker, clunkier, machines wheren't instantly flattened by the more durable less clunky Wiley robots. How about the asinine "Tails is stronger then Luigi" when Luigi has lifted and threw castles Or how about "Vegeta surviving Super Shadow" Shadow literally should've been flattened. Vegeta who is plain better then Shadow every way shape and form, and have him struggle for even second. Alright, some people are super pissed about the outcome of this fight, so let me help you: 1. Luigi is superior to Mario in every way except experience, and he has a far deadlier arsenal than his brother. This includes all of Mario's powerups and lightning, negative powers and many more that Mario doesn't have. 2. Tails does still have the Intelligence advantage on his side though. We don't even know Luigi's IQ (though we do know that he's at least smarter than Mario). 3. Luigi's feats of strength are just as good as Mario's. He managed to lift the same castle as Mario in the same game as Mario. And he managed to stand close to a black hole just like Mario. 4. Can we even take Mario Bros. 2 into account in this fight (this has to do with the statement about Luigi's large radish trouble)? If that were the case then Mario is weaker than Tails as well, AND that would make Toad stronger than them both (which is canon even outside of Mario Bros. 2) I gotta say though, Luigi stomps. If Mario can beat Sonic, then Luigi can too. And if that means anything, then Luigi is guaranteed to stomp the weaker Tails. Luigi would stomp a majority of characters from the Sonic franchise (Silver being the obvious exception due to him having telekinesis). Also, to those people who talk about power scaling in video games like they can destroy planets and have fought Universal level enemies, stop it. You know that Yamcha could destroy everyone in the Sonic franchise and everyone in the Mario franchise (Bowser being the exception due to literally tanking a black hole while being inside of it while Mario and Luigi only stood around it and they do die if they get sucked into it), and he can't be Universal level in the slightest.
@@SK-S2 I'm not lowballing them. Even with their speed, Mario and Luigi have nearly the same reaction times as them. Also the fact that a lot of these characters (Tails) have had actual trouble with smaller things (like a 10 ton weight). Sonic and Tails have survived plane crashes while The Mario Bros. have survived crashing into multiple small planets at high speeds without injury. I think that statement alone serves my point, but I'll go further. The Mario Bros. have survived being just a few yards from a black hole. They've also got powerups that nullify things like Super Sonic. The Super Star would destroy Super Sonic because, as of Sonic Mania, Super Sonic is no longer invincible (look up the egg reverie zone fight). Super Sonic only makes you invincible to anything weaker than you, the Super Star allows you invincibility AND the ability to instantly kill anything weaker than you. Also, we know that Toad is actually stronger than the Mario Bros. by a lot! Not just in Super Mario Bros. 2 either. He's the strongest in all the other games where characters are different as well. But this is about Luigi, who is slightly stronger than Mario and has a deadlier arsenal. And so, if Sonic can beat someone like Shadow without any kind of powerup (yes he uses chaos control when you pick the dark story), then Luigi can too.

For any Luigi fan about to type a complaint in the comments, I've countered most of the problems the Luigi fans have with this video, so before you type in a complaint, read this. 1. First off, the animation's for entertainment purposes only, any nitpick that "Luigi should've killed Tails here" can be countered, but complaints regarding that will be implemented into this list. Besides, Tails could've killed Luigi when he used the flash grenade. 2. "Tails is scared of lightning and Luigi has lightning powers, Luigi wins!" Having a fear of lightning and seeing someone with electric powers isn't a guaranteed win. Luigi is scared of A LOT of things yet he's able to conquer them, same can be applied with Tails. Besides, in the opening of Rush Adventure, Tails had no problem with the lightning storm he and Sonic were going through. 3. "Luigi's Negative Zone didn't do anything!" It made Tails trip and made him slower, 2 effects. 4. "No-one can escape the Negative Zone, it should have devastated Tails!" Actually it's easy to get out. Even if I get the sleeping effect or dizzy at first, I'm able to escape because Luigi spends the first half dancing so I'm able to get out before he gets me. You can also avoid effects with a shield roll or b up move. Tails has a shield and his flying may as well be Pit's wings of Palutena. You need brains and speed to escape the Negative Zone, and Tails has both. Also his rhythm badge does help keep his balance. 5. "Luigi didn't have as much items in this fight while Tails got a lot!" Mario vs Sonic proved that standard power ups countered each other, so there's no point in using them again. Luigi doesn't have as much in his unique arsenal as much as Tails because Nintendo didn't give him too much to differentiate from Mario, while Tails is an inventor so he uses more items than Sonic. 6. "They didn't make Tails tired with his flight and he went higher than usual!" They did make him tired once when Luigi used the flower, and Tails has proven to fly for longer periods of time and higher heights than the some games portray it. 7. "That magic hand was rigged!" You want a different killing move? Fine. Tails cuts off Luigi's head with a high speed tails slash, a regular one can cut metal so imagine what one at high speeds can do. 8. "Luigi has elemental medals in the poltergust, why weren't they used?" Does Luigi or Tails have a torch, sink, or freezer with them? That's why. 9. "Mr. L and Brobot!" Mr. L is Luigi brainwashed, and building a mechanical robot is a Mr. L feat, not Luigi. That's like if the Zelda vs Peach DB was Shadow Queen Peach vs Ganon Possessed Zelda. All of these characters require someone controlling them, AKA Outside Help. 10. "Both Mario Bros lost to Sonic characters, Screwattack's staff are Sonic fanboys!" Try comparing the amount of Mario videos on this channel to Sonic videos. Plus favoritism is taken out of DB. If they used favoritism, Batman, Chun-Li, Haggar and Goku would've won their battles.
The last one really makes me mad because people are so much of a hard core fan that if their character doesn't win then with their infinite logic they assume Screw Attack are a bunch of fanboys and never think that maybe the Mario Bros aren't as powerful as they think and that their Rivalry with Sonic and Tails is based solely on the Nintendo/Sega rivalry.

They've stated several times they don't choose on favoritism but people like you are too ignorant. And to counter that one, Tails is way faster than Luigi and would easily avoid that.
The whole "Tails can move 10 tons" is actually a funny detail that the developers of his game put just for humor, Luigi in the other hand can easily jump two times his height, the actual strength that human will need to do that is massive. The most realistic outcome would have being Luigi killing off Tails in one single blow.
These fights are so stupid. You can not compare the Sonic universe to the Mario universe. Anyone in the Sonic universe is so damn powerful it is unreal. I still Call Bullshit For Many Reasons 1. Luigi has the most defense out of any nintendo character as is (I'm not exaggerating.... I'm being Honest,) and with all the attack Nintendo Characters have taken on from each other, Luigi could've been able to survive that blow. 2. The Strength in Tails is literally not an issue for Luigi. Luigi has Defeated all types of enemies with the same and even better strength factor than tails, With or Without Mario. Tails' IQ is at about 300, But only twoards the spectrum of engineering while on Luigi's side he is very cunning. Hell even An enemy in the Mario Series Named "Fawful" Appeared twice in the games that had the same brain attributes as Tails but Way Smarter and Luigi "Killed" him in Super Star Saga 4. Luigi can jump WAY higher than what was displayed in the Death Battle and Tails was still in the air for a long period of time when in reality, Tails Tires out from flying for a few seconds, This time period was decreased as Sonic Games went by. 5. Tails' Body is Very fragile and Luigi's Green Missile attack allows his head to penetrate ANY Surface, even at the first shot, Tails should've been Dead.

In most of these death battles, they are easy to spot how they will win. and sometimes flat out tell u before it starts But this one was a load of crap. It was almost a random occurrence. That my opinion. Personally. They wouldnt even be fighting It would be the same thing with Goku vs superman. They wouldnt fight PRETTY sure it wold just be a "you dont look menacing, LETS BE FRIENDS" thing.
Mobility is such an important thing in fighting. It increases your chances of dodging potentially devastating attacks and increases your chances of closing in and starting a close-range offense or efficiently keeping opponents out and mounting long-range offense. Luigi and Mario are fast, powerful, and are some of the most well-round fighters. But, they lack the insane mobility of Sonic and Tails. Mobility helps control the pace of the fight in many circumstances. Ir one lacks mobility they must be near invulnerable to attacks or damage (as shown with Robocop) or they must be able to keep opponents out or keep them as close as possible to keep the pressure.
One problem though with mobility in this fight: it isn't worth squat in the negative zone. In SSBB, because of Sonic's insane mobility, he has much more difficult time escaping the negative zone because of counteracting forces. While I agree with the overall outcome of this fight, I highly doubt that Tails should have won simply because he got caught in the negative zone (not to mention throw in the vacuum Luigi used inside it makes it more ridiculous that Tails should have escaped it unscathed).
If you're upset about Luigi losing, think of it this way:
He lost because he did anything. Had Luigi done absolutely nothing he would've won hands down.

For example, when you control Sonic you are slow as hell compared to the cut scenes / movie / animation. He can run 767 miles per hour. So yeah, you defiantly aren't running that fast when you are playing as him. This example is universal to many games like Smash Bros, God of War, Star Wars whatever it maybe. You really thinking Krillin can beat Super Saiyan Blue Goku like in Dragon Ball FighterZ OR Piranha Plant beat Ganon in a real fight compared to Smash Bros.

This video hurts my eyes. Death battle, again, used non-canon sources and facts pulled out of their ass so their favorite character wins. Now look, I do like Luigi better than Tails, but that isn't a reason to call me biased. Luigi is not weak, he lifted a castle effortlessly, busted metal, and most likely can punch through a planet. He has survived being on the sun and an entire black hole and supernova. There is a large chance that Luigi is faster because he outran a black hole in space. He is also very intelligent, but while Tails is smarter, he isn't a big strategist. He only uses his intelligence for building and repairing. He has much more attacks than only his smash moves, thunder hand and his hammer.
The animation was cool and all until the death, because Luigi easily tanked getting crushed by a godly hammer and getting hit by gods.

Hold the hell up. You guys clearly stated that Tails gets dizzy easily. You also stated that Luigi's Negative Zone inflicts a multitude of effects, the main ones being slow movement and dizziness. And if I remember correctly, if a character was *airborne* while inside the Negative Zone, they immediately fell to the floor and stood up in a dizzy state.
Now the turning point in this fight should have been when Luigi unleashed his power, but instead we got this:
1. Tails was barely affected by the zone. He slowed down, dodged the hammer and then started *flying away*.
2. Luigi barely took advantage of this situation. All he did was swing his hammer and then resort to the vacuum, only to throw it right after, sit there for a bit and have it blow up on him.
Look, I know Luigi isn't some sort of super genius, but come on now. You guys know he isn't affected by his own power and isn't a total bonehead, so you could have at least have him do a little more than THAT.

the fight is never to be judged, is nothing else than a visual meant to be a fight losely based on the results, just to show off the characters skills and to show a winner and a loser, it will always have problems, because its not important, anyone that judges the animation automatically loses the argument.
also, tails gets dizzy easily in impacts only, it doesn't make sense that a self taught pilot will easily get dizzy, ohh and, tails has an item that prevents dizziness, your complains has been addressed.

I had a feeling Tails would probably get it (even though I like Luigi and was rooting for him), but not for the reason he won in the video. If he can run 100 Mph without using his tails to boost his speed, then I'm curious why that didn't play a bigger part during the fight. Honestly I think that would have been the biggest deciding factor here.

A huge reason of to why Tails won this death battle, is because he used Strategy against fighting. Luigi is there to be a sidekick, to fight along Mario.
Tails is a flying fox cub who, first off, CAN FLY. He has an IQ of 300, as he uses that to make all the stuff he's made over 25+ years. Yes, tails also fights, but he fights with gadgets. And uses his knowledge against egg man. I already knew that Tails had it the first time I had seen this.

My one real complaint is the strength thing. I've seen Luigi easily lift things much heavier than that radish, and they only took the word of one game to confirm that Tails can SLOWLY DRAG a 10 ton weight. Also keep in mind that he was using a gadget which could have improved his ability to do so.

Dude I stopped listening to Death Battle when they totally bullshit Superman Versus Goku with that dumb Golden Age Superman scam. They didn't even take into consideration that it took superman years to acquire that energy. and that Goku isn't that stupid. That Goku has done FTL and can freaking spam IT (Instant Transmission) and that moving planets has nothing to do when you are in the middle of a fight. They never took into consideration that the strength of a SSJ one Kame Hame Ha can blow up Earth and that he can traverse half of Namek in a second. Death Battle is not the end all be all in versus battles, they are still human but people need to stop holding them so highly.

While I am a huge fan of luigi, I gotta agree that he isnt all that bright.Luigi also isnt that great of a strategist in battle. I was hoping luigi would win but I expected tails to come out on top. There is also alot more they could have done with tails considering the outrageous shit he did in the comic.

Ok, after a few days and seeing everyone's complaints, I think I have the answers for most of the problems people have with this, so here we go.
1. First off, the animation's for entertainment purposes only, any nitpick that "Luigi should've killed Tails here" can be countered, but complaints regarding that will be implemented into this list. Besides, Tails could've killed Luigi when he used the flash grenade.
2. "Tails is scared of lightning and Luigi has lightning powers, Luigi wins!" Having a fear of lightning and seeing someone with electric powers isn't a guaranteed win. Luigi is scared of A LOT of things yet he's able to conquer them, same can be applied with Tails. Besides, in the opening of Rush Adventure, Tails had no problem with the lightning storm he and Sonic were going through.
3. "Luigi's Negative Zone didn't do anything!" It made Tails trip and made him slower, 2 effects.
4. "No-one can escape the Negative Zone, it should have devastated Tails!" Actually it's easy to get out. Even if I get the sleeping effect or dizzy at first, I'm able to escape because Luigi spends the first half dancing so I'm able to get out before he gets me. You can also avoid effects with a shield roll or b up move. Tails has a shield and his flying may as well be Pit's wings of Palutena. You need brains and speed to escape the Negative Zone, and Tails has both. Also his rhythm badge does help keep his balance.
5. "Luigi didn't have as much items in this fight while Tails got a lot!" Mario vs Sonic proved that standard power ups countered each other, so there's no point in using them again. Luigi doesn't have as much in his unique arsenal as much as Tails because Nintendo didn't give him too much to differentiate from Mario, while Tails is an inventor so he uses more items than Sonic.
6. "They didn't make Tails tired with his flight and he went higher than usual!" They did make him tired once when Luigi used the flower, and Tails has proven to fly for longer periods of time and higher heights than the some games portray it.
7. "That magic hand was rigged!" You want a different killing move? Fine. Tails cuts off Luigi's head with a high speed tails slash, a regular one can cut metal so imagine what one at high speeds can do.
8. "Luigi has elemental medals in the poltergust, why weren't they used?" Does Luigi or Tails have a torch, sink, or freezer with them? That's why.
9. "Mr. L and Brobot!" Mr. L is Luigi brainwashed, and building a mechanical robot is a Mr. L feat, not Luigi. That's like if the Zelda vs Peach DB was Shadow Queen Peach vs Ganon Possessed Zelda. All of these characters require someone controlling them, AKA Outside Help.
10. "Both Mario Bros lost to Sonic characters, Screwattack's staff are Sonic fanboys!" Try comparing the amount of Mario videos on this channel to Sonic videos. Plus favoritism is taken out of DB. If they used favoritism, Batman, Chun-Li, Haggar and Goku would've won their battles.

It would also be prudent to remark that statistical capability in reference to strengths and weaknesses are ultimately what win a Death Battle, not relying on a game-breaking special move, further debunking those screaming about the Negative Zone. Also, about number 7, I actually wish the animator had done that instead, because while I agree with the outcome, that final blow did seem rather anti-climatic, phoned-in, and half-assed.

Luigi runs faster and jump higher than Mario and is capable of kicking his legs back and forth at an extremely fast pace. and as I've stated before, Luigi is capable of running on water so he is more than likely no slouch when it comes to speed. - Luigi is capable of taking down giant fortresses and megaton robots with his bare hands.
- Luigi is capable of defeating Mario who is obviously stronger than him

IQ - it's never been calculated or given any specific rate by Nintendo how smart Luigi is so it remains a mystery on his overall IQ.
- Gotten multiple high level occupations such as a doctor
- Due to being a plumber, Luigi works well with PSI and water pressure so it's more than likely he's really good with some sort of engineering
- Can be able to drive a car, and play professional sports as an infant
- Outsmarts and outwits some of the smartest characters in the Mario Universe
- Can adapt to any environment
- Very Strategic and Cunning
- Higher Leadership Skills
Now I'm not entirely saying Luigi is smarter than Tails, but I'm giving note that he's an extremely Smart Character when it comes to the Mario franchise.
Arsenal - Pay close attention because I'm gonna get more technical with the poltergust's capabilities. It's to be noted that in both L's M games, all the ghosts can act around the mansion with physical properties meaning their contact, their height and most importantly their weight. Mr. Luggs is a very good example especially he was captured in the Poltergust 3000, and remember, 5000 is an upgrade to the original, so it's more than possible that the Poltergust 5000 can suck up bombs and withstand explosions and work properly just like I've said before.
Luigi has both natural Pyrokinesis and Electrokinesis so he really doesn't need any power up to activate these powers. his fire is capable of defying gravity, and both kinetic properties can be added into his attacks to give more damage.
His Ultra hammer can reflect any kind of oncoming projectile and destroy any kind of mineral there is. not to mention he has the option to charge the attack up so it can hit harder.
The Vanish Power Flower makes him Invisible and intangible to any attacks
and Finally the Negative Zone is Forged of Luigi's Shadows and Negative Energy which damages foes and slows them down on contact. the actual random effects are dizziness, sleeping, tripping, and taunting.
Durability - Luigi has more durability attributes than tails
- Can survive a supernova, while Tails can't survive a collision towards earth from the moon
- Can survive underwater
- Can fall from any height or surface without and sign of damage
- Can survive travels at the speed of light through outer space without a spaceship
- Luigi's clumsiness makes him get his head stuck into nearly anything while using his green missile so it's more than likely Luigi can crush more minerals than brick especially with his head
Verdict: Tails only seems to outclass Luigi in Speed and IQ. Luigi easily trumps everything else. His Poltergust can suck in any of Tails' gadgets or weapons that could help him win. Even if Tails could rework the Poltergust into a bomb and take it out of play completely, Luigi could easily endure the explosion and use his hammer to reflect the magic hand or any of his bombs and even destroy his gadgets by jumping on them or crushing them with his hammer. If the two got into a hand-to-hand combat fight, Luigi would instantly win due to being stronger and having more combat experience. and honestly, if Luigi even hit Tails once, he should be seriously damaged Because despite being weaker than Mario, Luigi's punches are practically like explosions of damage and pain. then only weakness that could impact him hard in this fight would be his low traction. Luigi can easily be prompted to do something brave, and it's been a while since he's actually done something clumsy.

Tails never used gadgets either, and luigi used the negative zone, his lightning power, his polter-gust 5000, spin jump, jump punch, and he DID use an invisibility flower at 9:54, and also his hammer, scuttle jump, time-bomb, and even "Koopa Surfed" not too far after his invisibility move.
So yeah.
All tails used was his raygun, spin attack (No reference to screw attack intended), flight, spin dash, healing thing that has a name that is hard to remember, bombs, grapple ring, magic glove and shield power-up.

Yeah no, the only advantages that Tails has over Luigi are:
Speed (as Super Tails)
Agility (as Super Tails)
Intelligence
Other than that, Luigi *destroys* Tails in every category, Tails would have to turn Super to even stand a chance against our favourite Italian sidekick.
Luigi was able to stand his own against Dreamy Bowser, can scale to Mario who defeated Culex, both feats were done by base form characters, whereas Tails' best base form feat was comparing to Ultimate Emerl who was Galaxy level compared to Luigi's Multiversal feats. Even Super Tails' best feat was defeating the Phantom King and Egg Reverie, both of whom were Low-Multiversal, still pales in comparison to Luigi.
Power-Ups? Luigi has hundreds of them to use, he can simply put on the White Tanooki (Which makes him completely invincible to weaker opponents) and defeat Tails that way.
Combat experience? Luigi has had decades worth or experience, Tails is only 8, meaning that Luigi has been taking on bad guys before Tails was even born.
Seriously, once Luigi fights seriously, any hope for Tails to win would crumble.
This isn't like the 'Mario vs Sonic' debate, there, Mario and Sonic are basically equal in a base to base fight, (With Mario having a slight upperhand) over there, once Sonic turned Super he would instantly one shot Mario. (Because Complex Multiversal outright godstomps Multiversal+)
If Sega actually gave Tails more time in the spotlight, he would've had a better chance against Luigi, but for now, the result would be a Luigi victory.
This video downplayed both characters tremendously, especially Luigi.

Did you just say Game Sonic is multiversal? That's wrong on so many levels. The only multidimensional beings are Solaris (To a very lesser extent time eater) and he only defeated Solaris with help and that's the strongest Final Boss in the games. Well they did neglect to mention things like Luigi lifted a castle (way more than 10 tons) and that him beating the reality warper Dimensio is more impressive than any victory Tails has achieved (that I know of). Though I'm honestly not butthurt because the animation was sweet and I like both characters
Luigi was also shown being able to lift King Bob-bomb and swing/throw Bowser in Super Mario 64 DS. He may not be able to move as quickly as his brother while carrying large objects but he's still pretty strong regardless.

@ShadowNathan 777 However you have to remember in a fight featuring "Brawn vs Brain" brain usually wins. Tails is pretty clever and calculating. A majority of Luigi's "fighting tactics" sees him throwing himself aimlessly at his opponents. While Luigi may be stronger, Tails is no stranger to dealing with stronger opponents who can easily beat him in strength. Tails pretty much played Luigi right into his hands. Remember despite all the strength Luigi has, in the Luigi Mansion games (specifically Dark Moon) he doesn't have the sharpest reaction timing nor is he that bright.

Alright, some people are super pissed about the outcome of this fight, so let me help you:
1. Luigi is superior to Mario in every way except experience, and he has a far deadlier arsenal than his brother. This includes all of Mario's powerups and lightning, negative powers and many more that Mario doesn't have.
2. Tails does still have the Intelligence advantage on his side though. We don't even know Luigi's IQ (though we do know that he's at least smarter than Mario).
3. Luigi's feats of strength are just as good as Mario's. He managed to lift the same castle as Mario in the same game as Mario. And he managed to stand close to a black hole just like Mario.
4. Can we even take Mario Bros. 2 into account in this fight (this has to do with the statement about Luigi's large radish trouble)? If that were the case then Mario is weaker than Tails as well, AND that would make Toad stronger than them both (which is canon even outside of Mario Bros. 2)
I gotta say though, Luigi stomps. If Mario can beat Sonic, then Luigi can too. And if that means anything, then Luigi is guaranteed to stomp the weaker Tails. Luigi would stomp a majority of characters from the Sonic franchise (Silver being the obvious exception due to him having telekinesis).
Also, to those people who talk about power scaling in video games like they can destroy planets and have fought Universal level enemies, stop it. You know that Yamcha could destroy everyone in the Sonic franchise and everyone in the Mario franchise (Bowser being the exception due to literally tanking a black hole while being inside of it while Mario and Luigi only stood around it and they do die if they get sucked into it), and he can't be Universal level in the slightest.

@@SK-S2 I'm not lowballing them. Even with their speed, Mario and Luigi have nearly the same reaction times as them. Also the fact that a lot of these characters (Tails) have had actual trouble with smaller things (like a 10 ton weight). Sonic and Tails have survived plane crashes while The Mario Bros. have survived crashing into multiple small planets at high speeds without injury.
I think that statement alone serves my point, but I'll go further. The Mario Bros. have survived being just a few yards from a black hole. They've also got powerups that nullify things like Super Sonic. The Super Star would destroy Super Sonic because, as of Sonic Mania, Super Sonic is no longer invincible (look up the egg reverie zone fight). Super Sonic only makes you invincible to anything weaker than you, the Super Star allows you invincibility AND the ability to instantly kill anything weaker than you.
Also, we know that Toad is actually stronger than the Mario Bros. by a lot! Not just in Super Mario Bros. 2 either. He's the strongest in all the other games where characters are different as well. But this is about Luigi, who is slightly stronger than Mario and has a deadlier arsenal. And so, if Sonic can beat someone like Shadow without any kind of powerup (yes he uses chaos control when you pick the dark story), then Luigi can too.

Meaning that if I lowballed Luigi and highballed Tails by saying he could actually lift the 10 tons off of the ground, Luigi is still 193 times stronger than Tails.

For any Luigi fan about to type a complaint in the comments, I've countered most of the problems the Luigi fans have with this video, so before you type in a complaint, read this.
1. First off, the animation's for entertainment purposes only, any nitpick that "Luigi should've killed Tails here" can be countered, but complaints regarding that will be implemented into this list. Besides, Tails could've killed Luigi when he used the flash grenade.
2. "Tails is scared of lightning and Luigi has lightning powers, Luigi wins!" Having a fear of lightning and seeing someone with electric powers isn't a guaranteed win. Luigi is scared of A LOT of things yet he's able to conquer them, same can be applied with Tails. Besides, in the opening of Rush Adventure, Tails had no problem with the lightning storm he and Sonic were going through.
3. "Luigi's Negative Zone didn't do anything!" It made Tails trip and made him slower, 2 effects.
4. "No-one can escape the Negative Zone, it should have devastated Tails!" Actually it's easy to get out. Even if I get the sleeping effect or dizzy at first, I'm able to escape because Luigi spends the first half dancing so I'm able to get out before he gets me. You can also avoid effects with a shield roll or b up move. Tails has a shield and his flying may as well be Pit's wings of Palutena. You need brains and speed to escape the Negative Zone, and Tails has both. Also his rhythm badge does help keep his balance.
5. "Luigi didn't have as much items in this fight while Tails got a lot!" Mario vs Sonic proved that standard power ups countered each other, so there's no point in using them again. Luigi doesn't have as much in his unique arsenal as much as Tails because Nintendo didn't give him too much to differentiate from Mario, while Tails is an inventor so he uses more items than Sonic.
6. "They didn't make Tails tired with his flight and he went higher than usual!" They did make him tired once when Luigi used the flower, and Tails has proven to fly for longer periods of time and higher heights than the some games portray it.
7. "That magic hand was rigged!" You want a different killing move? Fine. Tails cuts off Luigi's head with a high speed tails slash, a regular one can cut metal so imagine what one at high speeds can do.
8. "Luigi has elemental medals in the poltergust, why weren't they used?" Does Luigi or Tails have a torch, sink, or freezer with them? That's why.
9. "Mr. L and Brobot!" Mr. L is Luigi brainwashed, and building a mechanical robot is a Mr. L feat, not Luigi. That's like if the Zelda vs Peach DB was Shadow Queen Peach vs Ganon Possessed Zelda. All of these characters require someone controlling them, AKA Outside Help.
10. "Both Mario Bros lost to Sonic characters, Screwattack's staff are Sonic fanboys!" Try comparing the amount of Mario videos on this channel to Sonic videos. Plus favoritism is taken out of DB. If they used favoritism, Batman, Chun-Li, Haggar and Goku would've won their battles.
The last one really makes me mad because people are so much of a hard core fan that if their character doesn't win then with their infinite logic they assume Screw Attack are a bunch of fanboys and never think that maybe the Mario Bros aren't as powerful as they think and that their Rivalry with Sonic and Tails is based solely on the Nintendo/Sega rivalry.

There's a reason I listed off those characters in particular at the end. Those characters lost their fights but Ben and Chad liked them better than the characters that won those fights. They've stated several times they don't choose on favoritism but people like you are too ignorant. And to counter that one, Tails is way faster than Luigi and would easily avoid that.
The whole "Tails can move 10 tons" is actually a funny detail that the developers of his game put just for humor, Luigi in the other hand can easily jump two times his height, the actual strength that human will need to do that is massive.
The most realistic outcome would have being Luigi killing off Tails in one single blow.

I still Call Bullshit For Many Reasons
1. Luigi has the most defense out of any nintendo character as is (I'm not exaggerating.... I'm being Honest,) and with all the attack Nintendo Characters have taken on from each other, Luigi could've been able to survive that blow.
2. The Strength in Tails is literally not an issue for Luigi. Luigi has Defeated all types of enemies with the same and even better strength factor than tails, With or Without Mario. Also I once again call bullshit because they said Luigi "Struggles to pick up a giant radish" while they said he was "Stronger than Mario" the same mario that will lift giant things like it's nothing so Luigi can do better than Mario.
3. Tails' IQ is at about 300, But only twoards the spectrum of engineering while on Luigi's side he is very cunning. Hell even An enemy in the Mario Series Named "Fawful" Appeared twice in the games that had the same brain attributes as Tails but Way Smarter and Luigi "Killed" him in Super Star Saga
4. Luigi can jump WAY higher than what was displayed in the Death Battle and Tails was still in the air for a long period of time when in reality, Tails Tires out from flying for a few seconds, This time period was decreased as Sonic Games went by.
5. Tails' Body is Very fragile and Luigi's Green Missile attack allows his head to penetrate ANY Surface, even at the first shot, Tails should've been Dead.

In most of these death battles, they are easy to spot how they will win. and sometimes flat out tell u before it starts But this one was a load of crap. It was almost a random occurrence. Mobility is such an important thing in fighting. It increases your chances of dodging potentially devastating attacks and increases your chances of closing in and starting a close-range offense or efficiently keeping opponents out and mounting long-range offense. Luigi and Mario are fast, powerful, and are some of the most well-round fighters. But, they lack the insane mobility of Sonic and Tails. Mobility helps control the pace of the fight in many circumstances. Ir one lacks mobility they must be near invulnerable to attacks or damage (as shown with Robocop) or they must be able to keep opponents out or keep them as close as possible to keep the pressure.
One problem though with mobility in this fight: it isn't worth squat in the negative zone. In SSBB, because of Sonic's insane mobility, he has much more difficult time escaping the negative zone because of counteracting forces. While I agree with the overall outcome of this fight, I highly doubt that Tails should have won simply because he got caught in the negative zone (not to mention throw in the vacuum Luigi used inside it makes it more ridiculous that Tails should have escaped it unscathed).
Luigi still has insane mobility. And he as the battle experience and the reaction speed makes tails tiny advantage in mobility almost nule and void
