I was hoping you'd just introduce all 4 decks as normal, and ignore the fat that they were all Godo. Something like: "Here we have ~ piloting Godo, Bandit Warlord. His hand has a ~. Up next, we have ~, who's brought Godo, Bandit Warlord." etc.
While the Godo deck was def fun to watch, I have to say the Godo deck was my favorite here. The way it played against both a Godo deck AND fought up against a Godo deck, all while having to watch out for Godo, really made Godo the go to for me. In all seriousness, I absolutely love the simplicity yet versatility and raw power of Godo. It is a great deck for new players also due to its lower price tag compared to other tier decks and its fairly straightforward playstyle.
this was definitely a lot more entertaining than i was expecting. i’d say this a great representation of how much differently decks can function depending on meta
Damn all the mulliganned hands are both funny and painful to watch. Even so, these quick games are fun to watch. (While typing this, just saw that Ryan died to commander damage. Man that's hilarious)
I loved this!! :D I always think it's cool when you guys point out misplays at the end... We're all human, and EDH can have SO much stuff going on that the table misses things that seem obvious. We're all, ultimately, just here for the good times! ;)
I feel like in the 2nd game there was some fun shenanigans planned with the two non-Helmed Godos and then Lincoln had to come in with his "sensible play" and "actually winning", smh :P
With helm in hand, you search for hammer of nazahn, and then just cast helm. You lose some protection because you're now open to non-creature counterspells, but it still works. No, I read the table wrong and thought I'd see interaction. Since I know another player also had togre, I tried to force the interaction on their combo attempt and then win with hammer. I chose... Poorly.
I really like this idea for other decks actually. If someone is researching a deck to build this is a great option to basically see en mass goldfishing learning how the deck works.
I think thats actually a fair bit below the expected nowadays, I feel like youd expect to finish 4 fast games in16-20 nowadays. But when ur playing 4 mono red decks where u know theres no interaction you get to hard mulligan aggressively. In fact you're watching 16 attempts at goldfishing, and even still the average game length is 3.75 turns.
On the mog salvage misplay: you didn’t use your 2 mana on the following turn other than to activate top once. Thus had you recognized the situation you would have held top until the following turn. All in all, no biggie.
Love your content guys! Keep it up! Oh and I do have a gameplay recommendation.. Zur vs Kess vs The First Sliver vs Edric Thanks guys! Hope you read this!
In the second game, why tf didn't Tony or Alex search helm instead of what they searched for? They would've won on the spot. At least Tony would've. He had enough life to equip Argentum armor, and helm has same equip cost? Idk I just hate when people should win but decide they don't want to. Legit only thing I can think of is if Tony had both Hammer of Nazahn AND Helm in his hand. That HAS to have been the case
I love how after game three, you don't even bother giving a transitionary statement before moving into game four. It made me pause the video, I was laughing so hard.
I’ve always wondered, if the person you’re attacking has an indestructible creature can’t that creature block the new godo copy every single time? Or is there something I’m missing
That's true. It can block every time. There aren't many indestructible creatures in CEDH though. What you do to get around that is attack every other player until they are dead. This creates multiple copies of Godo. Helm's tokens don't go away at end of turn. So you just pass the turn. Then when (if) it comes back around to you, you swing with a massive army. They cannot block all of them, so they would take lethal. If something is granting the indestructibility (such as an aura or equipment), you can fetch up argentum armor with one of your Godos entering, then use an attack to destroy that item.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG option 2 You don't have to pass turn, though it depends on life total math. It's also vulnerable to spite scoops, but that's lame. Player A is godo'ing off. Player D has indestructible critter. Attack player B with the first token, the token trigger untaps it. Next combat, attack player B with the NEW token, but leave the first token untapped. Next combat, do it again, leaving 2 tokens untapped. Keep doing that till players B and C are dead. On the last new combat, alpha strike player D.
I made a Godo cEDH deck because 1) I got most of the pieces and 2) Thassa's Oracle (and similar cards) are overplayed 3) as well as Ad Naseum 4) Win via combat
I'll never understand casting anything with cmc 0 BEFORE playing the first land. Is there a GOOD reason to do so? I'll start running Mana Tither and Force Spike XD
I like your guys live streams but the commentary on these videos is what makes it for me..."Ryan wins the mascarade ball dance contest and gets us started" lol
Game2: assuming Helm was in Tony's hand, so he couldn't search for it, but I think it was no instant win for lincoln, because Alex's Godo is indestructible and can always block Lincoln's Godo
Helm creates a copy of Godo. He can fetch up hammer of Nazahn with the first extra combat. He can then fetch up Argentum Armor in the second one to destroy Alex's hammer.

My favorite part was when Godo fetched helm of the host of the win
Best part by far
Iconic and unpredictable
Yup, that part was the best. No other parts even compare to it. It was unique and truly spectacular.
There were other moments???!!1!1!

this whole episode is like a weird fever dream
This is the quality gameplay I come to see. As a Godo player myself this made my giddy
Same dude!
Spoiler: the godo Player wins
You'd think so, but it was actually the Godo player who won.
Guys, spoilers, come on!
Damn it bro, you ruined it for me

Pretty sure godo lost

So you’re saying I could have won twice! Oof

Seeing someone die to commander damage from an unboosted Godo was worth the entire video.
Damn all the mulliganned hands are both funny and painful to watch. Even so, these quick games are fun to watch.

Makes sense to Mulligan hard with this table though. If you're not winning turn 2 or 3 you're probably just not winning
@@PieShapedPiper true. Just not used to seeing hands less than 5 in my experience
Magnetic theft is gas in this match
I thought "Damn, this game is going to be fun. Heck, a game long 16 minutes?"
I was so wrong. These were FOUR AMAZING games.
When you realize that the opening hands section took longer than the actual games
Now this... does bring a smile to my face.
I want to play my Krrik deck against 3 other krrik players now
Oh my god game 1 was legendary turn 1 strangelhold into a turn 2 win holy hell
Not gonna lie, Ryan first hand is pure gas
This is probably the funniest episode yet. I love it
I want to upvote this at least twice, it is that good.
For all these years we were “ waiting for Godo’ “... now we got four :D Beckett would be proud!
Tony over here like "No hand? No problem"

I feel like in the 2nd game there was some fun shenanigans planned with the two non-Helmed Godos and then Lincoln had to come in with his "sensible play" and "actually winning", smh :P
tony likely had helm in hand which caused him to not be able to search for it.
I was thinking about that. Yeah, how does monored fix that situation? Oops I lose?
With helm in hand, you search for hammer of nazahn, and then just cast helm. You lose some protection because you're now open to non-creature counterspells, but it still works.

4 games four Godos.
Stranglehold the clear MVP.
MVP of the game goes to Godo, Bandit Warlord.
