  • Thought this was going to fix my sonata from randomly dying at stop lights but it didn't. It ended up being the fuel pump so try that if this doesn't do it for you.

    This was the best video I could find on here for this sensor. The only issue I have is nobody on any video tells u how hard it is to pull It out, It’s literally stuck back there.

    This video is spot-on and the layout and sensor location is indeed the same on a 2009 2.4 Sonata.

    Thanks to your video I changed my CPS on 2010 Santa Fe 2.4L. Very similar. I removed a heat shield over the exhaust manifold - 3X10mm bolts. The center of the exhaust manifold shield has an oxygen sensor. I did not remove the oxy sensor but instead enlarged the hole on the shield with a screwdriver and fit the shield over the sensor and out of the way. After that you lay on top of the valve cover as you did and do everything with a drop light and a mirror. The CPS cover on the 2010 Santa Fe has 2 bolts, one 10mm and one 12mm. Put cardboard under the car so if the bolts are dropped you'll easily find them. Careful - CPS mount bolt and 2 cover bolts torque to 4.3 foot lbs. Take the connectors out of the mounts before undoing the metal retaining clip. I made a tracing of the clip on paper . Good thing because until I figured out to take the connectors out of the mounts, I lost that clip. I made a new clip with bailing wire using the tracing and electrical taped over the CPS connector. Thanks - fantastic help from your video.

    Thank you so much for this video and the prices to fix these vehicles are ridiculous

    Thanks for sharing this, it really helped me. You are right about the "Stealerships" charging excessive amounts to fix simple things and hiding information. Even though I could afford to have a dealer repair mine I just can't allow myself to be ripped off with 10X prices. I wouldn't mind paying a little more fro trained experts but most of their mechanics are just part swappers anyway. If they ever get more reasonable I would consider them but not until then They wanted $1500.00 for brakes and rotors on my 2013 :-(

    Thank you so much. My check engine light came on and this was one of the issues. Now I just need to figure out where the variable valve timing solenoids are as that was the other error code. Thankfully it isn’t shutting off randomly yet

      anarchyamp well after getting the part it didn’t look the same, found out my error code was for a camshaft sensor not crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor was way easier to replace. Also the solenoids aren’t bad, it was dirty oil clogging the solenoid screens so after I changed the oil and the sensor my check engine light shut off

    Thanks, I have a 2008 Rondo, which has the same 2.4l engine as your Sonata. I was looking for the location of the crankshaft sensor and how to get it out. Your video was a lot of help.

    • @anarchyamp

      Hi there, I did not. After replacing it, it still didn't fix my problem. It actually ended up being a fuel pump that was going out and after I replaced that it was good to go.

      Go to autozone or O’Rileys they checked the code and showed me exactly what part the code said was faulty and it cost me $70 for the sensor and an oil change and it saved me $700

      Unfortunately I don't think so, that gen of sonata ended in 05 and they changed them completely in 2006

    I have a 2006 Hyundai Entrantra and when it starts to idle it chocked and after a while the car has no power. A check engine light came on, when I scan it, it says: P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction. One time the car would not start at all.

    • @anarchyamp
      @anarchyamp  7 років тому

      I would start with replacing that sensor

  • @nickv4073
    @nickv4073 5 років тому

    When a crank sensor stops working, even for a second, you will get a stall and a check engine code for the sensor. Did you have a code? What was it? If you had no code, you replaced the sensor for nothing.

    Have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata the day before yesterday started it and drove home fine but tried going to store last night and wouldn’t start or turn over at all no fuse is blown battery has plenty of juice we just can’t figure it out why it won’t do anything really need help with this, could it be the starter?

    • @anarchyamp
      @anarchyamp  6 років тому

      Matthew Thorpe I really don't know but if the car is cranking, that's the starter working so it wouldn't be the starter if you hear cranking but again, I have no idea what it could be

    • @SteelMckeelZ
      @SteelMckeelZ 6 років тому

      anarchyamp yeah it won’t crank at all it’s stressing the shit out of me my gf is pregnant at 8 months and the hospital is 30 miles away and that’s the closest one I work like 15 miles away and I don’t need anything happening to her while I’m gone I just don’t know what to do no fuses are blown we think it may be a code thing that’s not getting transferred but thanks for the reply cargurus sucks ass on answers

    • @anarchyamp
      @anarchyamp  6 років тому

      No problem man, what do you mean by code being transferred? Does it have a check engine light on? Whatever it is get it fixed asap with a pregnant wife for sure man

    • @SteelMckeelZ
      @SteelMckeelZ 6 років тому +1

      anarchyamp got a diagnosis reader a code came back as the inhibitor switch so I’m pretty sure it’s that I’m hoping it’s just that bc I looked it up and if that goes out I guess it won’t send power to the starter to engage
