I agree. The home, inside and out, is featured in the new(ish) Netflix series about the Menendez brothers. They used the real interior for the Christmas tree scene. I hope the home is safe--Mandeville Canyon is currently under fire evacuation orders.
I loved this house in the show .I know the interior of the house seen on tv was even a set. But i loved the late 70ies and early 80ies Style ,especially the Kitchen and the Master Bedroom with the great Bathroom and the walked in -wardrobe. Now the outside is to cleaned up and the attached spaces affect inharmonious. If i had Millions of Dollars i would buy the Ranch and bring it back to the original condition .I would reconstruct the interior like the original set.And on the driveway stands a 79 Mercedes SL in yellow . I DREAM;)
I have always been fascinated by this house, especially the way it appeared in the original series. I know the house was said to be located at 3100 willow Pond Road, Bel Air but in reality it was located at 3100 Mandeville Canyon Rd. just west of the 405 freeway. I lived not far from there from 1988 to 2013.
The Powells bought the property from the singer John Charles Thomas c. 1952. Thomas had bought it in '42 from a Hollywood Producer worried about a Japanese invasion. Some of the b&w photos are from JCT's time
Yeah I guess, except for the fact that the stars were both cheating on their significant others. They deny it today but back then it was obvious. She even said the Wagners kids were ugly. There's enough clues for those that look. He was in love with her and that's what really made the show.
I loved this house when I was a kid. In my high school architectural drafting class, I drew this house and added a few interesting tweaks and got a great mark! I still have it.
I need that t-shirt, or a Hart Industries one.... Maybe with all its little sub companies on the back like a real company tee. All his little umbrella companies like Chem-o-Cal, hartco toys etc

Wonderful video. The additions have spoiled this house though, and I much prefer the original home as designed by architect Paul Williams. The interiors in the tv series were so much more fitting of the exterior of the house, especially the front staircase. I always loved the Hart's entrance hall and staircase. Thank you for posting this.

I haven't seen the show since my childhood and maybe my memory deceives me, but the way I remember the house's interior, there was a lot of crude natural stone, which gave it not just a rustic, but even a bit of a cozy cave atmosphere. Bummer that isn't the case anymore, if it ever was the way I remember it, hehe.
@@rjcelli I see, thanks. I checked out some pictures of the set in the meantime and while I still like how it looked, my memory really was exaggerated. The way I remembered it, most of the walls were made out of large, jagged, natural stones, with the stairs and other elements being made out of thick logs and dark woods. You know, much like you see in rustic "log cabin" style mansions in Colorado, Wyoming and so on.
***** It was a long time coming! Back in the 90s I discovered where the property was located. Living here in SoCal, I mailed the owners a nice letter to see if I could interview them and tour/photograph the place for a potential book I was working on (pre UA-cam, etc.). I got a CEASE AND DISIST letter! LOL Well, in 2013, the property went on the market for $47 million. It didn't sell. It went to auction instead and was put up for open houses (selling for $14 million--a STEAL in that neighborhood for that amount of acreage). I went, fulfilling a childhood dream of driving through that gate and pulling up in front of the house--a 1/4-mile trek on the driveway, I might add. I was a big kid that day and loved it so much. To be able to share it with everyone, in spite of the video's shortcomings, is icing on the cake.
Lovely to see that house again after all those years. I wasn't expecting the long drive up to it. Are there other houses on the grounds. I'd love that house. Dreams
There is a guest house and a grounds-keeper house. It's for sale if you have the money. :-) The driveway is about 1/4 mile and has several speed bumps.

Thank you! So glad you like it. The interiors were shot on a soundstage at Fox, and then moved to Burbank Studios (now Warner). For many scenes, they used a duplicate porch on the soundstage and, in later seasons, they recreated the entry gate on the Warner backlot.
Such an exquisite property. You do such a great job on these videos and I really enjoy them. If you ever are in a position to do so, would love to see the Falcon Crest house in Napa Valley.

I enjoyed this video as well as the music! Like this house very much and remember it being used in many TV shows I grew up with. I understand the house was owned by actor Dick Powell and June Allyson . Its a special place, warm and beautiful and I just recently saw it listed for sale Jan.2020.
Yes. It sold at auction for about $14,000,000 around 2014, and that buyer has had it listed for awhile now. I just hope it never gets torn down. I recently saw it in some 1974 episodes of Rockford files--exteriors only. Interiors were sets. Such a special place. Thanks for the nice comments. :-)
Great video. Just curious though, did they put in a new pool? Why get rid of that pool, it’s iconic. I think the bay window in front above the entry just doesn’t look right, not well balanced with the other windows. Thanks again for answering our curiosity🇨🇦
Thank you. They have not added a new pool. The wife wanted a sculpture garden and, for whatever reason, chose the pool site. The bay window over the entry featured in Hart to Hart. It was originally jus a dormer-style, but that room was expanded long before Hart to Hart went into production.
I am most interested in exterior of house - the wonderful architecture. Wish you could have shown more of exterior rather than interior, grounds and five-minute drive to reach house. I always wanted to see more of house exterior because it is hidden by trees in the TV series.
Hi and thank you so much. Yes, the old pool and it pool house were seen in at least a few episodes that I can recall. I cannot imagine filling a pool in in SoCal. Especially in the canyons off Sunset--they get pretty hot in the summer.
I don't know who designed the remodel, but it didn't help the outside, the shed dormer over the entry was much more appropriate than the bay window. The inside is a hodge podge of rooms that don't flow or make any sense. The interior would be a very expensive gut job. The "Hart" house was much more appealing.

And I'll tell you one thing if I was a multi millionaire and solve this house on that property in Brentwood California for $14 million I would've snatched it up faster than you could blink. Even if are the only reason that it was used for the exterior shots of Hart to Hart which is one of my all-time favorite shows!!! I think it's a beautiful place even what ever might still need to be remodeled but I could live with it like it is. The rest of it is certainly beautiful and the grounds are simply great. Oh yes I would've paid 14 million in a heartbeat.

I was so grateful to see the inside of this house. LOVED IT. I wish I could've seen how the master suites and bedroom layout was arranged though. It's kind of hard to figure out, but I SO ENJOYED SEEING THIS and am very thankful you posted it. You asked for suggestions. I would love to see the inside layout and grounds behind the house of the Robert Taylor ranch, which right across the street from Amber Hills. I don't think any TV shows filmed there, but they have shot movies there, most notably "The Osterman Weekend". That house is so intriguing to me and I would love to see it. Also, the Charmed house at 1329 Carroll St and Brookfield Farm, which once doubled as Gary Ewing's ranch in Knots Landing. I think it's 1464 Hidden Valley Rd in Thousand Oaks. The original house that doubled as Gary's ranch Westfork has been replaced by this more modern house, but the grounds are still beautiful. I wouldn't mind seeing the inside of the house, but would LOVE a walking or riding tour of the trails and paths around the grounds where Gary could be seen riding his horses. And the stables as well. Since we're on the subject, Greg Sumner's ranch would be cool too. LOL. I think it's called Hummingbird Ranch, but I'm not sure. Everyone's done Wisteria Lane, but do you ever venture out of state. There's a beautiful house in Atlanta, GA called Glenridge Hall that doubles as the Salvatore house. That would be cool to see. And there's one home that was featured in the movie Extremities with Farrah Fawcett. It was so beautiful, but it was in the 1980's and I don't even know if it's still standing. lol Anyway, those are my suggestions that I would love to see. Once again, thank you for the videos. It's always a treat. ;-)
+jephybean An episode of Hart to Hart filmed at the Taylor Ranch. Also an episode of Mannix. They both offer a pretty good idea of the layout. Plus you can Google Earth it, too. I've tried very hard to get access to Brookfield Farms, especially now that it's for sale. The house looks nothing like it did when Knots filmed there--totally remodeled exterior. But the grounds are very similar. Google Brookfield Farms and you can find a page from the realtor with video and photos of interior and exterior. Also, I posted a link to it on my Bobbing Along page on Facebook. If I could ever sell my show, then I'd have a budget for country-wide locations. Fingers remain crossed. :)
I've done the google thing with those locations. I'm always looking for ways to see inside Robert Taylor ranch and how the bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned lol. Fingers crossed and sending you lots of good mojo for your show. That would be a fun program to watch.
Maybe a kickstart campaign to get the budget for nationwide visits. You could do Hatley Castle and the Kent Farm from Smallville. lol But I will certainly keep my fingers crossed for the full dream. :-)
Fantasy is always better than reality. I would've loved to see a tour of the sets from Hart to Hart. They had such a great home. It would be fun to see Max room. It was a great show because of how much Robert/Jonathan loved Stefanie/Jennifer.
Actually Jennifer Wellman they DID have a dining room! I don't know exactly which episode but it's in the fourth season where they show the hearts with some guests sitting in their dining room eating and I must say the dining room is quite nice and huge. Just to let you know obviously it was a stage just like every shot taken in the house was on a soundstage. Only the exterior was used!

I wish I were! I'd love to make many, many more. I had many doors shut in my face, almost literally, while trying to get more locations. I had hoped that once I had the Dynasty and Knots Landing episodes to show prospects, they would see that I'm legit. Didn't work. Too many people afraid of strangers approaching their properties. Also, the budget wasn't there to expand beyond California. If I ever get a genuine opportunity to sell this show to a cable channel, then I'll have the budget. Nobody is more disappointed that there aren't more episodes than I am.

Whoever did the remodel in this home in 1994 has NO tasted and has pretty much ruined this house. What a shame. Do a remodel right or don't do it at all. Great video you took though Bob.
I went in 2014 during an open house. That's why the video is so shaky. I couldn't set up with the tri-pod or interview anyone. I had to speed through. But it was a dream come true for me, that's for sure.

I used to go to bed an hour early so I could get up and watch it when it was being filmed in production back then. After all these years Stefanie powers is still gorgeous lady. And if I had an extra $16 million back then lying around I wouldn’t even blinked an eye & bought that property!
I know you did the best you could, but the filming was too fast. I wanted to think about it and then try and remember the way it was and I couldn’t do that as fast as you were moving, but then you said that the reason why it does not look the same is because it was it filmed elsewhere so then I understood why you were going so fast, but there were some things you’re moving so fast on that everything was blurry. Also do you have any videos of the jewellery that she wore because some of the jewellery that I have now I’m looking at hers and I’m thinking wow I have that, like the starfish brooch that she wore ! Otherwise it was fun to see, when we drove from the gate to the house I was overwhelmed with how long of a drive it was, and it seems more like a neighbourhood, rather than just one property! ♥️2♥️

The pool was filled in for no apparent reason. I am with you 100%. The sunroom doesn't cover the space where the pool was. The pool area features a couple of odd Indian art pieces. No pool on all of that land? Strange!
That was the story they told in the movies. Their house burnt so they were in a very white house in the first of the 8 movies. It was a terrible contrast.
Funny to see a dining room, cause they ( the Harts never had one ) They figured the Harts friends ( if they had any ) were either in jail or dead. LOL With the exception of the exterior nothing is where I thought it would be. Same thing happened went I went Boston and saw the bar from CHEERS,
Not sure if you're still interested in posts that are at least a year old, but the Harts did have a dining room. It was shown in at least two episodes. One would be "Always Elizabeth" when Max pretended to be wealthy and the owner of the Hart home to impress a woman he liked. Johnathan and Jennifer were his "maid" and "butler". Another episode would be "Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch", when thieves have a plan to stay in the Hart home with a couple who look somewhat like Jonathan and Jennifer in order to fool others and pull of a robbery. The real Harts return home early and are mistaken for the fake Harts and play along, and entertain a congressman (I think) and his wife during dinner in the formal dining room. You can search for the episodes on UA-cam to see the dining room, of course.
MIchael Barlalnti: I agree. The music was so repetitive that I thought it was caught in place like the old records that used to play one part over and over when there was a scratch on the surface. Also Where Were The Trees that gave Hart residence such a secluded feeling? That was one of it's best features. I felt like I was viewing one of those "Abandoned Mansions" videos so popular these days. I never understood why the original house had to "burn down". Of course, it was obvious that a small model was burned in the final cut. The flames were life-sized and the house was tiny. The trees were still there, though. Possibly most of the sets were unavailable or destroyed so they couldn't be reused. BOB of "BOBBIN' ALONG": It helped to know that you took the videos as you passed through the house on a tour, which would explain the endless stretches of walls and stairs and empty shelves. Haven't viewed your other videos, but will give them a try. One suggestion: cap off the endless repetitive theme song and give us some vocal description of what you were seeing. Interesting idea, filming these homes. Thanks for posting this video. "Hart to Hart" was one of my favorites then and its still one of the best series even today. :0) DBB
Sam Beaton: I'm not wanting to start a thread against the video, and, of course I know the music is from the show. During a number of scenes, though, the same 8 notes from the opening sequences of the theme played over and over and over with no variation into the rest of the theme. It would have been easier to listen to if it had incorporated more of the song rather than just repeating the same few Identifying lines. Right now around 18:21, the same refrain played as we watched the grounds and some interiors of the actual neighborhood. Endless repetition music from the major theme song wasn't necessary. I still would have appreciated more narrative describing what we were seeing. Many of us are not that familiar with the area. The theme music is wonderful and fits the show and the "Harts" perfectly. I love the theme when played through with variations. I wonder if it may have been due to copyrights that the music seldom strayed from the "da-da-da-da, da-DAH-da-das". Still, I appreciate the attention Bob has given to this show. Did you catch the information that the Harts "lived" in Brentwood? Triggered a chill right through me with the sudden reminder of "O.J" back in the day. Such a terrible waste of lives there. The Harts were one of my favorite couples and it was so good that they stayed together throughout the show. Thanks for your comment. I'll keep binge-watching. Can't turn away. DBB
Well, the home has undergone several additions since it was built long ago. In the studio, they had open space and could create whatever they wanted. There is no way to recreate the show set in the frame of the actual home.
Whoever bought the house obviously has money...but NO taste....If you were going to remodel it, WHY wouldn't you remodel it to look as close to the interior of the tv house?...The tv house has so much more character, and, in my opinion, was 10x more beautiful than than this complete disaster....and they filled in the pool!?...That takes a special kind of stupid to do that...great vid, but man, what a disappointment
The owners lived there for decades and, like you, I think they ruined the place with the additions. It needs a lot of work, especially upstairs. The new owner, who purchased in nearly 10 years ago, has done nothing since. At least they haven't torn the place down--a real possibility in LA.

The set for the show used stone, or created stone, that matched the stone on the exterior of the actual house. I agree, it was really nice.

Living here in SoCal, I mailed the owners a nice letter to see if I could interview them and tour/photograph the place for a potential book I was working on (pre UA-cam, etc.). I got a CEASE AND DISIST letter! LOL Well, in 2013, the property went on the market for $47 million. It didn't sell. It went to auction instead and was put up for open houses (selling for $14 million--a STEAL in that neighborhood for that amount of acreage). I went, fulfilling a childhood dream of driving through that gate and pulling up in front of the house--a 1/4-mile trek on the driveway, I might add. I was a big kid that day and loved it so much. To be able to share it with everyone, in spite of the video's shortcomings, is icing on the cake.

There is a guest house and a grounds-keeper house. It's for sale if you have the money. :-) The driveway is about 1/4 mile and has several speed bumps.

Thank you! So glad you like it. The interiors were shot on a soundstage at Fox, and then moved to Burbank Studios (now Warner). For many scenes, they used a duplicate porch on the soundstage and, in later seasons, they recreated the entry gate on the Warner backlot.

I miss doing these shows a lot, but I haven't found any more property owners willing to go on camera or allow me to video their homes, etc. Pretty frustrating.
Falcon Crest is actually an operating winery called Spring Mountain so they dont allow tours and whatnot

I enjoyed this video as well as the music! Like this house very much and remember it being used in many TV shows I grew up with. I understand the house was owned by actor Dick Powell and June Allyson . Its a special place, warm and beautiful and I just recently saw it listed for sale Jan.2020.
Yes. It sold at auction for about $14,000,000 around 2014, and that buyer has had it listed for awhile now. I just hope it never gets torn down. I recently saw it in some 1974 episodes of Rockford files--exteriors only. Interiors were sets. Such a special place. Thanks for the nice comments. :-)

Thank you. They have not added a new pool. The wife wanted a sculpture garden and, for whatever reason, chose the pool site. The bay window over the entry featured in Hart to Hart. It was originally jus a dormer-style, but that room was expanded long before Hart to Hart went into production.
I am most interested in exterior of house - the wonderful architecture. Wish you could have shown more of exterior rather than interior, grounds and five-minute drive to reach house. I always wanted to see more of house exterior because it is hidden by trees in the TV series.
The house was 💯 times better in the show! It was one of a kind! Now it looks every house out there!

Hi and thank you so much. Yes, the old pool and it pool house were seen in at least a few episodes that I can recall. I cannot imagine filling a pool in in SoCal. Especially in the canyons off Sunset--they get pretty hot in the summer.

I don't know who designed the remodel, but it didn't help the outside, the shed dormer over the entry was much more appropriate than the bay window. The inside is a hodge podge of rooms that don't flow or make any sense. The interior would be a very expensive gut job. The "Hart" house was much more appealing.

And I'll tell you one thing if I was a multi millionaire and solve this house on that property in Brentwood California for $14 million I would've snatched it up faster than you could blink. Even if are the only reason that it was used for the exterior shots of Hart to Hart which is one of my all-time favorite shows!!! I think it's a beautiful place even what ever might still need to be remodeled but I could live with it like it is. The rest of it is certainly beautiful and the grounds are simply great. Oh yes I would've paid 14 million in a heartbeat.

I Love the Original H2H Old house.. it has the warmth & cosy feeling...this open concept I love it bought I thought the tour will take. O the Original house...
The interior of the home, as seen on the show, was all a set in a studio, first at Fox then at Warner Bros.
I was so grateful to see the inside of this house. LOVED IT. I wish I could've seen how the master suites and bedroom layout was arranged though. It's kind of hard to figure out, but I SO ENJOYED SEEING THIS and am very thankful you posted it.
You asked for suggestions. I would love to see the inside layout and grounds behind the house of the Robert Taylor ranch, which right across the street from Amber Hills. I don't think any TV shows filmed there, but they have shot movies there, most notably "The Osterman Weekend". That house is so intriguing to me and I would love to see it.
Also, the Charmed house at 1329 Carroll St and Brookfield Farm, which once doubled as Gary Ewing's ranch in Knots Landing. I think it's 1464 Hidden Valley Rd in Thousand Oaks. The original house that doubled as Gary's ranch Westfork has been replaced by this more modern house, but the grounds are still beautiful. I wouldn't mind seeing the inside of the house, but would LOVE a walking or riding tour of the trails and paths around the grounds where Gary could be seen riding his horses. And the stables as well.
Since we're on the subject, Greg Sumner's ranch would be cool too. LOL. I think it's called Hummingbird Ranch, but I'm not sure.
Everyone's done Wisteria Lane, but do you ever venture out of state. There's a beautiful house in Atlanta, GA called Glenridge Hall that doubles as the Salvatore house. That would be cool to see.
And there's one home that was featured in the movie Extremities with Farrah Fawcett. It was so beautiful, but it was in the 1980's and I don't even know if it's still standing. lol
Anyway, those are my suggestions that I would love to see.

+jephybean An episode of Hart to Hart filmed at the Taylor Ranch. Also an episode of Mannix. They both offer a pretty good idea of the layout. Plus you can Google Earth it, too. I've tried very hard to get access to Brookfield Farms, especially now that it's for sale. The house looks nothing like it did when Knots filmed there--totally remodeled exterior. But the grounds are very similar. Google Brookfield Farms and you can find a page from the realtor with video and photos of interior and exterior. Also, I posted a link to it on my Bobbing Along page on Facebook. If I could ever sell my show, then I'd have a budget for country-wide locations. Fingers remain crossed. :)
I've done the google thing with those locations. I'm always looking for ways to see inside Robert Taylor ranch and how the bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned lol.

Actually Jennifer Wellman they DID have a dining room! I don't know exactly which episode but it's in the fourth season where they show the hearts with some guests sitting in their dining room eating and I must say the dining room is quite nice and huge. Just to let you know obviously it was a stage just like every shot taken in the house was on a soundstage. Only the exterior was used!

I wish I were! I'd love to make many, many more. I had many doors shut in my face, almost literally, while trying to get more locations. I had hoped that once I had the Dynasty and Knots Landing episodes to show prospects, they would see that I'm legit. Didn't work. Too many people afraid of strangers approaching their properties. Also, the budget wasn't there to expand beyond California. If I ever get a genuine opportunity to sell this show to a cable channel, then I'll have the budget. Nobody is more disappointed that there aren't more episodes than I am.

I went in 2014 during an open house. That's why the video is so shaky. I couldn't set up with the tri-pod or interview anyone. I had to speed through. But it was a dream come true for me, that's for sure.

I used to go to bed an hour early so I could get up and watch it when it was being filmed in production back then. After all these years Stefanie powers is still gorgeous lady. And if I had an extra $16 million back then lying around I wouldn’t even blinked an eye & bought that property!

I know you did the best you could, but the filming was too fast. I wanted to think about it and then try and remember the way it was and I couldn’t do that as fast as you were moving, but then you said that the reason why it does not look the same is because it was it filmed elsewhere so then I understood why you were going so fast, but there were some things you’re moving so fast on that everything was blurry. Also do you have any videos of the jewellery that she wore because some of the jewellery that I have now I’m looking at hers and I’m thinking wow I have that, like the starfish brooch that she wore ! Otherwise it was fun to see, when we drove from the gate to the house I was overwhelmed with how long of a drive it was, and it seems more like a neighbourhood, rather than just one property! ♥️2♥️

The pool was filled in for no apparent reason. I am with you 100%. The sunroom doesn't cover the space where the pool was. The pool area features a couple of odd Indian art pieces. No pool on all of that land? Strange!

That was the story they told in the movies. Their house burnt so they were in a very white house in the first of the 8 movies. It was a terrible contrast.
Funny to see a dining room, cause they ( the Harts never had one ) They figured the Harts friends ( if they had any ) were either in jail or dead. LOL With the exception of the exterior nothing is where I thought it would be. Same thing happened went I went Boston and saw the bar from CHEERS,
Not sure if you're still interested in posts that are at least a year old, but the Harts did have a dining room. It was shown in at least two episodes.
One would be "Always Elizabeth" when Max pretended to be wealthy and the owner of the Hart home to impress a woman he liked. Johnathan and Jennifer were his "maid" and "butler". Another episode would be "Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch", when thieves have a plan to stay in the Hart home with a couple who look somewhat like Jonathan and Jennifer in order to fool others and pull of a robbery. The real Harts return home early and are mistaken for the fake Harts and play along, and entertain a congressman (I think) and his wife during dinner in the formal dining room.
You can search for the episodes on UA-cam to see the dining room, of course.

MIchael Barlalnti: I agree. The music was so repetitive that I thought it was caught in place like the old records that used to play one part over and over when there was a scratch on the surface. Also Where Were The Trees that gave Hart residence such a secluded feeling? That was one of it's best features. I felt like I was viewing one of those "Abandoned Mansions" videos so popular these days.
I never understood why the original house had to "burn down". Of course, it was obvious that a small model was burned in the final cut. The flames were life-sized and the house was tiny. The trees were still there, though. Possibly most of the sets were unavailable or destroyed so they couldn't be reused.
BOB of "BOBBIN' ALONG": It helped to know that you took the videos as you passed through the house on a tour, which would explain the endless stretches of walls and stairs and empty shelves.
Haven't viewed your other videos, but will give them a try. One suggestion: cap off the endless repetitive theme song and give us some vocal description of what you were seeing. Interesting idea, filming these homes.

Sam Beaton: I'm not wanting to start a thread against the video, and, of course I know the music is from the show. During a number of scenes, though, the same 8 notes from the opening sequences of the theme played over and over and over with no variation into the rest of the theme. It would have been easier to listen to if it had incorporated more of the song rather than just repeating the same few Identifying lines.
Right now around 18:21, the same refrain played as we watched the grounds and some interiors of the actual neighborhood. Endless repetition music from the major theme song wasn't necessary.
I still would have appreciated more narrative describing what we were seeing. Many of us are not that familiar with the area.
The theme music is wonderful and fits the show and the "Harts" perfectly. I love the theme when played through with variations. I wonder if it may have been due to copyrights that the music seldom strayed from the "da-da-da-da, da-DAH-da-das".
Still, I appreciate the attention Bob has given to this show. Did you catch the information that the Harts "lived" in Brentwood? Triggered a chill right through me with the sudden reminder of "O.J" back in the day. Such a terrible waste of lives there.
The Harts were one of my favorite couples and it was so good that they stayed together throughout the show.

The real staircase in the front foyer is a total, uninteresting disappointment, compared to the TV show "open staircase"
Well, the home has undergone several additions since it was built long ago. In the studio, they had open space and could create whatever they wanted. There is no way to recreate the show set in the frame of the actual home.

Whoever bought the house obviously has money...but NO taste....If you were going to remodel it, WHY wouldn't you remodel it to look as close to the interior of the tv house?...The tv house has so much more character, and, in my opinion, was 10x more beautiful than than this complete disaster....and they filled in the pool!?...That takes a special kind of stupid to do that...great vid, but man, what a disappointment
The owners lived there for decades and, like you, I think they ruined the place with the additions. It needs a lot of work, especially upstairs. The new owner, who purchased in nearly 10 years ago, has done nothing since. At least they haven't torn the place down--a real possibility in LA.
