With a ban, you get smugglers who sneak it inside the state. And you are forced to launch them in your backyard or streets where people can get hurt so you dont get immediately caught. If they were launched at the beach over water, then this accident wouldn't have happened. Police can easily monitor the beach over several miles of streets and neighborhoods

I hated those crazy new year's fireworks/fire crackers when I used to live in Honolulu. Not only dangerous, but also it creates a serious health hazard for people with respiratory problems. I remember having to use earplugs, making sure all of the windows closed, and cranking up the air purifier because the smoke seeped in my apartment anyway. The locals said it was *cultural*, and I didn't get the mentality behind that. I'm glad I left the island.

And after surviving the Lahaina fire, it pisses me off people get so careless and look what happen horrible lost four people now and brains were splattered all across the sidewalk. It was really really bad. Those weren’t fireworks for your front yard those were professional show fireworks. The pets here were fine until the illegal fireworks went off. I thought I was gonna break my windows. the pets, where trembling 🤬
The real stories of people who lit up to fireworks and from different places and they both knocked into each other the fireworks knocked to each other and it made like a bomb thing three people are dead and like 22 survived in hurt

Killed three so far, 20+ seriously injured and many others injured. Blasted holes, broken windows, damaged vehicles, even across the street. In another video, an official said the explosion was so powerful there was brain matter from one of the victims scattered across the sidewalk. What a nightmare!

That’s faulty logic. People who want aerials are not going to be satisfied by sparklers & fountains. And BTW, sparklers generate a lot of smoke, which is hazardous for people with asthma.

Fireworks are quickly losing their appeal as i get older. Used to love 5th november in the UK as a child. Now i spend 5th of november in a crowd of people, freezing, watching fireworks go off until i am bored sh**less. It really is not worth the money anymore. Yes, celebrate Guy Fawkes and other traditions, but maybe in a different way now.
