This time I answer a question concerning mpc kits brought by Jason @blueoxmodelshop3405 and I ask how many projects (ongoing at the same time) is too many.
Ha Ha, I completely understand. I have all the projects laid out in somewhat of an order and keep all their parts organized. This would make you think that I'd be more like you but that's not the case. 🤣
Only have seven cars going at the moment, with one on the way. Sometimes, you have to step away from one and go to another. It's an addiction, but better than drugs alcohol, and eating sweets. Thankful for this hobby that I love!
Seven cars ...... now you're cooking with gas ! LOL It is an addiction and you've hit it right on the head .... better than alcohol and drugs ! Have a Merry Christmas brother 🍻
😮 That's alot of projects! I prefer the 2-3 range, enough to bounce around while things are drying or add a little more to a paint session. I currently have 4. 3 are body prep and paint only so won't be current for too awful long. Plenty of others in the queue though already waiting their sessions.
I try to have fun with all my builds, I have only 5 on the bench at this time, when I need to build a simple kit to get my brain right I build a 1/32 scale or a Tom Danial kit, I love Tom Danial kits, no paint needed just build them, thanks for showing what you have on the bench
Excellent idea, something simple like a Tom Daniels kit is a great idea. I take part in the small scale group build in February each year. Although those builds aren't simple (I toss a good bit of detail at them)I really enjoy them ! Merry Christmas ! 🍻
I have 14 unfinished projects going, 15 if I include a broken resin model. I work off and on now for 4 years. Whenever the mood strikes. I'm in an apt with limited resources and do my model building on a banquet table. My models range from 1932 to mid-70's in years
Great video, brother! I bought one of those MPC '67 Goats and may join in because I don't have a GTO in my display case or stash other than that one. I may not join in either, though, because I joined so many GBs for 2023 that I stayed burned out most of the year and only built 1 model (obviously that's not the only culprit that kept me from building, but I actually sitting here as we speak looking at a barely started USACC project that has about 3 weeks before deadline and I just can't get myself to work on it...), lol 😂 So if you count "stalled projects" as "currently on my bench" projects, I'd say I've got around 5 going, but in actuality, there's 1 half built Under 1000 GB and 1 barely started USACC GB truck and 3 boxes I've opened and said "this is my entry for the ______ GB" with intentions to follow through with it...but the truth is I'm not in the mood to tinker with any of them rn, I'm in the mood to build something else (something specific), but I won't let me start it because I've got at least 4 GB projects with impending due dates coming soon, so I just sit here at the bench and watch videos and send a text to my wife "remind me tomorrow that I NEED to work on ______" each day 🤦🤣 It's mostly been life stuff kept me from building this year, but all that I just said true too. The thing is, I WANT to build these GB projects because I enjoy the channels (and in some cases, the friendships with the guys ) hosting them, but just can't seem to get in the groove, if that makes sense? ANYWAYS, lol, Merry Christmas, brother 🎅✌️
I completely understand what you're saying about getting in the groove. I have a hard time shutting off my mind and just having fun with the hobby.... then i get several projects stacked up and get nothing done on any of them. You have a Merry Christmas brother ! 🍻
howdy boys! Im a one at a time modeler . However I'll buy models that want to build any time i one or see a good deal. When choosing a vehicle i might buy two or three different kits to use the tires n rims and a motor from another. After market stuff i try to keep plenty on hand such as wheels, tires (not much of a selection for my imagination ) , wired distributors asst colors, chrome foil, braided hose wire, paints .my goodness there is so much to list n to pull from to use for car modeling . Like open wheel modified roundie rounders have 3 different size large tires , so I'll buy two giving me 3 pairs with 4 big ass rear tires n rims. monogram has the best molds for builders (us). First model i built was 1969 or 1970 .........and was ab air force Bratt and lived UP Michigan - snow for 7 months so there was alot building going on. Also i worked in Facilities for 20 years and would come across some of coolest wires from all kinds of electronics........the skies the limit ! thanks john👽
I have two MPC 67 GTOs one is stock and the other one is kinda like a resto mod, and I like the body but I don't really like the chassis, and I have two projects going on right now..and I'm a slow builder and I try to focus on one project at a time. I don't get alot of bench time at home..just make 30mins a day lol😂
Personally I envy people who can jump around from one to the other.. I have to FOCUS on one build or things go GUANO CRAZY in my head.. 😎👍🎄⛄🎁🎄

Sounds like you've got the right idea, picking up the race cars for parts, they are full of useful little parts !
Have a Merry Christmas brother ! 🍻

Taking 30 minutes a day is a great idea, do what you can that fits in your day !
Have a Merry Christmas ! 🍻
I like to have 2 or 3 going at the same time, any more than that and it gets too confusing.
2 or 3 is good, as long as you are enjoying yourself and the hobby !
Have a Merry Christmas !
