  • Well, by now you have installed the butt cap, reel seats, handles, and all the guides are wrapped up in a perfectly straight line along the spine of your rod blank. Now, it is time to finish your rod by applying finish to your guides.
Most blends are 50/50 and if you are not extremely accurate, the epoxy will never dry.

I just finished wrapping my 1st rod. Everything is ready to be finished with a poxy. However the area I'm wrapping my rod in is in my garage with very little insulation. Nighttime temperatures can be around 50゚ and the daytime since its Spring is around 75. I'm not too sure if I should wait until it gets closer to summer so the garage doesn't get too cold. What can I do so I can hurry and finish this rod

Can you add a video on applying epoxy to the decal area. When I apply epoxy to this area I get waves when the epoxy dries.

When you put the finish on colorfast thread its kinda translucent does this weaken the strength of the rap?

Do you mean Nylon thread? Colorfast should hold its color and opacity when adding finish. Nylon thread will become quite translucent when applying finish, but in no will it weaken the wrap. You can also apply color preserver to Nylon thread to achieve a similar look as the colorfast, but with a little more sheen.

@@MudHoleCustomTackle the thread is nylon but it isn't colorfast. I like the look but was curious if it weakened it. Thank you i was worried about it weakening it.
