The eighties has never really died for those of us who can recall the fantastic mix of urban and electronic sounds - cannot compare with today's music!
same oooold booooooring comment in every 80's track, move on, there was always good and bad music in every era, do some research there's loads of great new music, maybe not on the mainstream shitty radio stations. Remember, growing old is your own mental defeat. For the record, I Love 80's music. peace
I agree. There is an overabundance of good music in the world today if you're patient enough to look for it yourself. In fact, the 80s sound is on a comeback with modern bands integrating it into their sounds, the whole synth-pop-electro mix. One could also argue it never really went anywhere as a large part of the noughties were spent reviving the 80s sound. Just enjoy music!!
+Shikclare Pressley Well I agree with all three of you .......I know I'm just a sweetheart hahahaha todays music is actually not all bad there are good ones like one comment said it's out there you may just have to search .....But I do believe the 80's gave us more ........Better quality , more variety .........And you did not have to search very hard ........As for the guy who said we 80's people leave the same old boring comments ........Simple just don't read them I have also read many comments from teens of this generation who said they wish they had been around in the 80's .........Fact remains one of the best eras in music I highly doubt anyone will be able to say that about this era .
In August of 1985 I turned 18. This song came out some months earlier. Spring of '85. A massive hit. "Tarzanboy" was a real burner everywhere in Europe. France or Hungary, Soviet Union or East Germany
4:58: Cue Les Garland, “I’m looking over that Golden Gate Bridge on another gorgeous sunny Saturday and I’m seeing that bumper to bumper traffic. ...It’s your favorite radio station, in your favorite radio city, the city that rocks, the city that NEVER sleeps!”
I think i had this on a CD or maybe even a cassette lol. ! I was so obsessed with a longer version of it . Remember you could find obscure 80s n 90s remixed and extended variations in places like Media play and the very early days of circuit city and best buy! Going thru those single song cds for hours was a great time yo be alive to get real music! Thx for posting 🙏
"Doble S - LASER..." 98.1 fm Guatemala City, emisora lider en fm. Esta era una de esas versiones especiales que todos queriamos tener en nuestro archivo musical. Excelent version. 1986 good memories. 80s are FOREVER !!!
I think it is becuase people thought the lyrics meant that the band Starship claimed that they mended a city to what it was. Though Mickey (lead singer) said in an interview that the lyrics ment that "we" was all the people from 60's and 70's that made rock'n'roll into what it was in the 80's. "Built this city" was another way of saying "the people" as a bunch of them in a city that was in the process. Either that or people are just assholes. I love this song.
This remix sounds good. Must have been recorded shortly after the original. Has a 1980s European electronic sound to it. Mid 1980s was the start of rock and pop songs having extended remixes done to them instead of only dance songs being extended.
Back then, it was, oh, so easy. In fact, even when things weren't exactly going quite right all one would really have to do was step out to one of the local discos and dance the night away. What's more, it didn't matter what kind of woes you had or what night of the week it was. You simply danced your troubles away to the steady-beat pop music just like everyone else did, even if only for a short while. Today; however, it's another story altogether. For example, local clubs aren’t necessarily a party waiting to happen like the days of ole. Moreover, you're lucky if you even have money enough to live on let alone something like clubbing. Even worse, a lot of folks today don’t have a steady job or a reliable source of income anymore. In sum, things sort of suck for all of us right now to say the least. ☹
hola gente linda , siempre me encantaron los starship , estuvieron tocando por alguna pelicula .................................................................................
About a month ago I ate an entire bag of Juanita's corn chips. I don't know how it happened, they were there, then they were gone. I felt sick. But what I didn't know is that I had a stomach flu coming on. Two hours later, I was yakking up that bag of Juanita's. A fire hose of corn and grease and stomach acid. I can still taste it. Now when I see a bag of Juanita's I gag a little and, I'm not making this up, I have to stop myself from crying. Which is exactly how this song makes me feel.
Sorry I'm a little late to the party here. I love the song to begin with and I love the extended mix even more. I have the disc this is from. I hesitate saying so, but I'll say it anyway ... anyone who thinks this is "the worst rock song ever" is a total idiot. That's all.
@@ironinquisitor3656Ikr, like 1970s and 1980s music will always be the best era of music and also real music compared to some most lame, trash, garbage music from the middle and late 2000s decade, throughout the 2010s decade, and this decade.

This is such a great song. One of my favorites of all times.
I love the picture quality
Same!!! It makes it feel like the real 80s
I was 5 years old when this first came out still love it 1985 those were the days
Is it just me or this version is better than the originals?
I agree with that.
It combines the best of both originals, and extending instrumentals, to make this beauty.
saw this tour on Pensacola Beach, with The Outfield opening, great Spring Break Concert Series...

Very Interesting way of looking at this Golden Tune!..
The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin (remember Elton John)? So "we" could not possibly mean exclusively "Starship".
Just…beautiful! 🥲🎶🎸
i love this one better than original song! thank you for the upload!!

Not sure why there's so much hatred for this song. The 1980s had a whole lot of music that's significantly worse.
so sickening
Love this mix. well done
Love this mix!
80s 💗

Glendale Arizona and it's theme song
The instrumental sections of this version are off the hook. Except the very beginning. Pretty over done in the first few bars
What are you calling "mistake"? It could have be done on purpose!
i will pay someone to send to me!
My mistake. Corrected. Thank u.
fun :)

TheUTubeTeamSucks Funny question
+Josiel de Assis Look for a comment on this clip from four years ago (may have to expand the "show more comments" bit) ;-)
