I found this to be one of the best opening commentaries on UA-cam. No offense to any other instructors on this channel, but many can be difficult to understand because of their English, and often cover lines you will not encounter in play. I thought this guy did a great job of covering what needed to be covered and was a great primer for getting into the Hyper Accelerated Dragon. I liked how he explained the benefits and drawbacks, as well as quickly reviewing every line again. Will be looking out for more from this GM, thank you for the upload.

I compliment you, too, sir, for not only your mastery of chess, but for your mastery and diction of English. I'm looking forward to any of your chess video lessons always!

I am really thankful to you for these useful pieces of advice. I already put them into practice and I could win against very powerful contenders. I specially liked the smart way I played. I did enjoy those games.
Trying this against 1500 player, im just reached 1300 myself and played only 19 games on chess.com, fingers crossed. Im quite nervous playing against more experienced player, so far we are at 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 g6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Qxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 Nc6. Lets see how it goes wish me luck and thank you for the tutorial to help me and others to learn more defences for black
Thanks a ton, this is very helpful for me and since I'm quite new to chess, to my surprise this actually doesn't seams tooo extremely advanced stuff, for me. I really understod alot of it, and how you actually explain it in away i understand is awesome, it maybe is on how you theaches seams make it more easy for me, thanks again, cheers QuQ
I played the move order 1. Nf3 c5 2.e4 g6 3 d4 ed4: 4. Nd4: Bg7 5. Nc3 Nc6 6. Be3 Nf6 7. f3 d5 After which my opponent plays Bb5, similar to the Rosselino attack. In other words white does not have to take on d5 on the eigth move. I did pretty much as you showed on the vid, but i fail to see why white has to take.
In such lines black should always caste before playing d5. Just like in this video black castles first white did Qd2 and then you play d5. The difference is that after caste Bb5 has no effect because ur king isn't on e8 anymore.
At 13:00 the ideal white queen move seems to be c4. The fork you are hoping for to take the white knight on e5 is cancelled (After you move black queen to a5, white queen moves to c3, covering both white knight, blocking check whilst attacking unprotected black queen). I don't see how black doesn't end up materially worse
Yes, it works but it is positionally weak. After Qc4, d5 is coming. If exd6, Qxd6 or exd6 with Black's white-square bishop roaring out to e6. Black is better. :-)
thanks for the coupon! ...had already bought his Acc Dragon (good summary/update of the material vis-a-vis Roman D's and Nigel Davis' videos) ...used coupon for his Na6 KI; keep up the good work!

the game goes: 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 g6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nc6 5. Nc3 Bg7 6. Be3 Nf6 7. Be2 O-O 8. O-O. but what if on move 5 instead of going Nc3 white decides to take the Knight on c6? do i take with the b-pawn and carry on my merry way? i'm just a beginner. P.S. This was the best explanations that I have found for chess, I love the commentary and I love the explanations keep it up!
You would always want to take it with a pawn that goes toward the centre, so preferably b-pawn. Having said that, there are many players who take with the d-pawn to induce originality in the position, which can quickly become tactical by nature.
What if on 5:08 white brings his dark squared bishop to h6 and after we capture the bishop the queen recaptures? Wouldn't it be a winning postion for white? Or instead of capturing the bishop if we capture the d4 knight, black can take our rook
@@ChesscomGames Thanks for replying! I actually mean what if white plays Bh6 whenever he gets an opportunity. If that happens then the Bxh6 Qxh6 and now all of a sudden our kingside dark squares are weakened severely. Our king is no more safe then how are we suppose to play next? Do we have an advantage?
Can someone help me out here, please (I am a beginner)? Why can't White play Bb5 now at 3:16? Wasn't that the problem shown at 2:24? And why is g6 already played, deemed as worthy in this comparison? Thanks a lot in advance!
nope. castling is actually a little stronger than most people give it credit for. the bishop covers g8, which is not in the kings path, therefore castling is legal.
+smashu2 Yes, both g3 (developing the bishop on g2) and c3 (blocking the diagonal) are interesting moves for white, but why do you think white is better?
+iChess.net White as better pawn structure and safer king. That would be the type of position Carlsen would salivate at he idea of torturing black for the next 40 moves and if black play perfect he get the draw most likely.
Lots of good information on several of the standard variations in the Accelerated Dragon. You seem to overlook the fact that Bb5 can be played at various other points in the game, still with pressure on the Queenside. I think this is a weakness of the AD, at least in my mind. I always want to play a6 early to prevent it, but this does seem to be a bit slow.
Eugene, how do you handle the position 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3, g6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Qxd4 Nf6 5.Bb5......? if 5..a6 6.e5 axb5 7.exf6 exf6. Although black is up a pawn his remaining pawns are a mess? The strength of 5. Bb5 creates a problem with white playing 6.e5 next move because black cannot play the intermezzo Nc6 to threaten the queen because of Bxc6 followed by e5,,

It's very good opening by black. Even in the Maroczy Bind, black has plenty of play if he knows his theory. a4 and then a5 is the newest and statistically best way for black to play against it. He attacks the base of the pawn chain instead of the head of it. If white knows what he is doing also a draw is the usual result. It feels good not to get into crazy positions where anything can happen.
Because the king is reasonably safe, the knight has a good outpost on d5 and the bishop will take control of the long diagonal. There is some structural damage, but Black is still in an okay place.
I'm sorry but Bf7 and Qc1 are both impossible in this position. Do you mean Qc8 instead of Bg7? What's the idea of your move Qc8? I would say this Qc8 is a waste of time. I think White will play Bg5 followed with some Bf6 tricks to force the Rook to move (if you play ...h6 Bf6 for example) or if you play ...Bg4 or Nd5 White will play 0-0-0 with a very good position now! But after ...Bg7 you continue your development and you control the diagonal!
Yes, sorry! Typos. Qc8 instead of Bg7. Bg7 can wait one move (or 2) and Qc8 at least preserves your pawn structure. The queen isn't currently doing anything on b8.
As I said Qc8 will be met by Bg5! If you play Bg7 the Bishop will be not able to go in g5 since you're attacking the g2 pawn (I mean after Nxf5 of course). "The Queen in b8 is doing nothing". I guess the Queen will be able to go on an other square later (c7 d6 ect) when needed. After Qc8 you lose a development tempo for the Bishop (as this Bishop can control g2) and you'll have to move the Queen again later. Anyway let's imagine you play ...Qc8 and now I play Bg5 with White. How will you continue?

hello, is the dvd still available?
6:31 isn’t it illegal to castle since it would be crossing through the line of fire from the bishop on f5
