The best part about getting breakfast at midwestern restaurants is how much food they give you
How do the rest of y'all do it?
I've never done the dishes in the back, but definitely thrown away all my trash and stacked the table's plates for the bus boy. I got weird eyes from my co-workers in from Massachusetts, but who cares. I'd rather be remembered for being overly polite than ever for being rude.
I moved here to Minnesota from NJ three years ago, and have fallen on hard times and even lost my car. I had to go to a food bank which I was dreading because where I'm from it's like freaking Christmas if you find instant mashed potatoes. Walking into a food bank here is like going to a grocery store and you walk out w an entire shopping cart over flowing w almost $300 or more of actual, real, healthy and often organic food too. Even dessert!! And the workers keep telling you to take more!!! I love it here LOL
But seriously God bless the generosity here
@@cherilynkirschbaum2044 Welcome and sorry to hear about the hard times. I'm glad you've had good experiences overall with us. I wish you the best going forward and remember to watch out for deer!😂
@@cherilynkirschbaum2044 just pay it forward when you get back on your feet. 🤗 Be the change you want to see in the world.
@@ellencox8415being from WA and doing this naturally let’s me know I was born in the wrong place.
I’m Subscribed to both channels. So I watched it once on each and liked both videos. I didn’t want to inconvenience either of my favorite Midwest UA-camrs.
Thanks for the reminder! I better pop over to Miles' channel and give him a like as well!😅
In the Army a few years ago, we decided to have a good ole backyard barbecue. My team was myself, a Mexican guy, and a Wisconsin guy. The Mexican guy and I love making spicy food, and we showed up early to get the smoker going and make salsa picosa and such so as not to smoke the guests out with roasting chilis. Wisconsin guy shows up and asks if he can try the salsa. We didn’t think anything of it, but it was an unexpected assassination attempt. He immediately choked up, turned red, was sweating bullets and with a betrayed look, asked why we tried to kill him.
We didn’t think it was that hot, but this is a guy who thinks spicy mayo is a bit much. Ope, sorry bud.
I'm with that Wisconsin guy (as a Wisconsin girl). I suspect he brought harmless cheese and brats to the Q.
A Texan would have brought a brisket and some jalapeno brats@@wellthness6881
LMAO!
oh and some Shiners
I was born in the Bronx and hate spicy food!!
Charlie Berens always makes me feel like I'm back at home. I'm sure if the video went longer they would have brought the plates back up to the bar when they were done and then wiped off the table themselves. Also glad I'm not the only one who hates spicy food.
As a Midwest guy living in NC I approve this message, if that's ok?? Tell your folks I says hi.
As a northeast guy living in Hawaii, this makes me also feel like I’m back at home in a place that I’ve curiously never been to more than a handful of times.
Big Erv's!!!
The Midwest is when you almost bump into a stranger and you both say ope sorry in unison while shuffling past each other.
The sharing of utensils and Miles drinking the bloody Mary when he has 15 beers next to him had me lmfao!
as a shy, polite Southerner, I feel this. 😂
My goodness, me too!
When I get an ice tea that is just pitiful, I don't say a thing.
Sigh.
Bless your heart. 😂👍
@@tinaperez7393Found the Texan. 😂
This was great. You guys are helping me understand where a good part of my struggle has come from. It has taken decades after moving away from the Midwest to get the courage to speak up in situations like this. And it used to be only when it was this severe. Also, why I can't stand folks who are so quick to just be rude to folks even when it's not at all their mistakes. Thanks for bringing home to some of the things I love/truggle with the most about my heritage.
I was taught by my Midwest raising-no special orders, not even at Burger King.
Well, in my 20s, I developed food allergies, so, special orders can’t be avoided.
@@jslferrell same, good allergies here too, hence it matters when they get it wrong and even then I would just not bother them and either do without, or risk it and pick around it. I'm a bit better now. But I'm glad to know it's midwest nice, not just family issues.
I left the midwest at 18 and these guys have helped me understand soo many interactions I've had.
Thanks for providing a funny break from my work day...and no, I was not inconvenienced.
This was hilarious! I once was at a Cracker barrel with my boyfriend. Because he thought our waitress didn’t refill his soda enough times, he totally stiffed her on the tip. I didnt have my purse with me to leave one, so the next day I went back, found her and gave her tip and apologized profusely for his behavior. I'm from Missouri.
I hope you also dumped his ass. How you treat the staff anyplace that serves you is a huge insight to who they are. People who are rude to wait staff is the easiest red flag and "get out now" sign you can get.
So we should all just give a good tip even if the service was not up to par? Tipping culture has become insane.
I feel Charlie needs to have his Midwest Nice card revoked. How could he eat those plain scrambled eggs while Miles suffers through the jalapeños omelette? There should have been a midwest stare down between those two with Charlie insisting on switching his eggs with Miles for the omelette and Miles insisting on not inconveniencing Charlie and refusing the swap.
Hey he let him have some of his bloody
Because paradox is a logical fallacy
Politeness level is off the charts on this one. Canada and Japan have competition. 😜
Canada is so polite they'll help ya die!
@@nalgene247Gotta love MAID service :-/
Wait, the midwest isn't in Canada?
The UK, too! 😂
@@One_Flew_West people from the UK are actually known to be the opposite of nice.
We midwestern folk refuse to inconvenience anyone…except ourselves
Not telling the waiter that they got my order wrong is so true for me
This is so relatable. I feel bad when I get wrong orders at restaurants, and I know I should tell them, but sometimes don’t.
Poor Miles, nothing hotter than salt, reminds me of my little brother, who won’t do anything more than mustard.
+ not spicy or Chinese mustard, I assume.
@@SiiriCressey definitely not for him but’d I’d give it a try!
To be fair, the inconveniencing part is basically the Millennial experience. If someone gets my order wrong, I just kinda accept my fate and deal with it.
“Have some Bloody Mary. C’mon.
Oh, forgot it’s spicy.”
😂😂😂
After moving to Minnesota from the South, I went to a local restaurant and overheard another table ask the waiter “Are those wings Minnesota hot?” 😂
Not realistic, didn't ask for ranch
didn't wanna inconvenience ya
Real mayo
I just saw that a deer chased a bunch of people out of a restaurant in Wisconsin about a week ago. I immediately thought of Charlie and I'm surprised he didn't say anything about it, that I heard anyway
THAT deer was NOT from Wisconsin! LOL!
It was in Beloit, right? Pretty close to the IL border- I bet the deer was from down there.
Watch for deer!
@@dingoDogMan exactly!
I'm Canadian and i feel like i've been "Out - polited." 🇨🇦 💜
Canadians aren’t polite. Maybe compared to New Englanders
We from the Midwest learned from the best
@@Eman1900OMaybe you haven’t met the right Canadians. This video is making me homesick for my small Ontario hometown. Have definitely done some of this lol🇨🇦🇨🇦
It seems like the upper midwest and Canada are so similar. But I'm from out west, so I don't know.
I grew up in the US Midwest but my parents are Canadian. I’m forever apologizing!
Thank you for the behind the scenes of making Miles sweat out that jalapeno
I’m a super polite aussie that now lives in the Midwest and I was wondering why I seemed to fit in so well here in a small town compared to Brisbane 😂😂😂
Cos Brisbanians are selfish a-holes 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m from Wisconsin…cheese IS my spice!! (none of that hot sauce nonsense!)
y'all both showed up on my subscriptions page with two of the same video, had to watch this video twice as to not inconvenience one of ya. Last thing I want is you kids chirpin at eachother over views, great work, keep it up!
Hey, I've been to Big Erv's to eat, and it's pretty good!
Yes!!I hate eating out bc I don't want to be a nuisance to the staff. They work so hard and I always feel so guilty if I say anything so I never do. Yes I get my own silverware😂
You guys are too much!! Love every minute of it!!
As funny as this video was, we need more of the Manitowoc minute. How are else are we supposed to keep up with what’s happening up there Canada
You should do Canadian meet Midwesterner
Midwestern people are the best people
You guys need to do Midwest snacks review
It's not the salt, it's that dang pepper that's so spicy 😂
I tell people all the time- when I say I can't handle spicy, that the bar is set well *below* black table pepper!
Clean plate club reference! I love it. Such growing up in Oconomowoc memories.
Oconomowoc is such a cute place! I've stopped there many times 😊
There is such a thing as a clean plate club. I thought it was something made up with a member of one.
My brother is so sweet, he will gather all the used dinnerware and utensils to make it easier for them to clean the table.
Sound very Canadian all that haha ;)
Hey! I’m a Mexican and a jalapeño made my throat go numb. That ish is real.
Charlie giving Miles the straw-facial was so freaking funny. HAHAHAHAHA
And I'll kindly take the address of that restaurant - jalapeno omelettes and essentially free beer? Sign me up!
Edit: Ugh...it's in ND. Figures.
Too far?
@@SiiriCressey I'm in Wisconsin...but I do wanna make a trip to Beerhalla...
@@MBrulla Is that the name of the restaurant?
@@SiiriCressey Beerhalla is the nickname for Drekker Brewing's new campus. It's on my bucket list.
Beerhalla is totally worth the trip.
Lmao nothing says breakfast nook like corrugated steel....
If this were real, you'd have pulled a bottle of ranch dressing out of your pocket to eat with breakfast.
It feels like a while since these comedians have teamed up.
So soorry. I don't wanna inconvenience anybody, but my Canadian inconvenience anxiety is triggered. My fault entirely.
Charlie should've swapped his scrambled eggs for his friend's jalepeno omelette...that way his friend wouldn't be inconvenienced ;)
Always make sure to stack the plates
Wisconsinite here - I am embarrassed at how much I can relate to this…
this trend of servers giving the wrong order when there are no other customers around or serving cold fries really seems to be the norm across the nation the past few years ... I know work sucks yet it seems strange to take it out on customers who never did anything to them...
LOVE these guys- I needed a smile today very badly.
Midwest guy here. My brother got mad at me years ago for telling our waiter my cheeseburger had all kinds of toppings and sauces in it when I wanted a plain cheeseburger. He was mad I inconvenienced them. I felt kinda bad but my appetite overrides my Midwest manners I was raised on.
Definitely part of the clean plate club too. Otherwise you're being rude 😂
I would like to click the like button, but I do not want to inconvenience the algorithm.
I been making a breakfast tator tot dish and it's flipping delicious.
I gotta be honest this sounded more passive aggressive than being polite. But then again it's probably the PTSD that I got when I was working at restaurants.😂
"Ope, ya kinda chopped off my finger when you set the knife down, but can you just pass me a Vienna sausage; I'll stick it right on. I don't wanna inconvenience ya."
What a cliffhanger, he gonna be ok?
Are you kidding? You filmed 3 minutes from my house and I didn't know it?
Was thinking the same thing!! What were you guys doing here?
I see you with that "Can of Corn" Longest yard reference.
My father once went to a restaurant back in the sixties. He forgot his wallet and was put to work washing dishes to pay for his meal. I thought maybe you guys might have forgotten your wallet.😂
I feel so called out by all of this, but at least I'm not alone!
The Japanese and the Canadians have nothing on Midwestern politeness.... sorry.
Jalapenos are No go
But a big heaping plate of lutefisk is.okie dokie ,you betcha
Yup. Name checks out. Don't let me inconvenience you further.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a Texan guys I would have happily taken that jalapeno omelette off your hands. 😉
I feel Midwesterners would love northern England!
This is me and I live in California. I hate to ask for anything special, which includes silverware. Lol
I'm from the south and I can completely relate to this 100 percent. I was born in the Midwest and raised in the south. I got the best and worst of both worlds. Lol
I'm a 30 yr old Man born and raised Minnesotan still living in Minnesota. I love spicy stuff and even eaten Raw Carolina Reapers with hardly any difficulty/issue. But I have some relatives and knew some other people who genuinely feel Black Pepper is too spicy for them.
why did I never think of a Jalapeño omelet before? Even better, A habanera omelet. with American cheese and turkey and ham, scratch that, Swiss. A Spicy Monty "Christ this is hot" Crisco omelet. With syrup and jam and powdered sugar. On French Toast.
As a New Englander that acts this way at restaurants & has hard cringe when others don’t, I now see why I relate to you guys so often!! Taking my first trip to Milwaukee this winter, only plans are to take brewery tours, but I’ll be on the lookout for small bars with cheap food, friendly people and pull tabs!!
The most midwest thing here is making a ton more work trying to make less work for others lol.
I am one of these guys, lived in the Midwest almost all my life but I've never met another guy like this. Where the hell are ya fellas? My friends will send back anything for the smallest reason. I will not. If only they'd let me do my own dishes also!!
In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth. He created humans too to have a relationship with Him. That's our purpose as humans that have a relationship with God. Sin, however, messed that up because it made us imperfect and imperfect creatures cannot have a relationship with a perfect and holy God. That's why we so oftentimes feel empty, unsatisfied and unaccomplished because we're not in relationship with the God we were created to be in a relationship with. But that's where Jesus comes in. Jesus is God's son and He came down to earth in human form to live the same life we do yet unlike us He never sinned. Jesus is perfect. Yet despite the fact He is perfect He died on the cross for our sins and sacrifice Himself for us. The punishment for our sins is death but because Jesus took that punishment for us if we put our faith in Him and receive Him as Lord and savior we can be reconciled to God and be restored to that relationship we were created to have. And we can be sure that Jesus is the Son of God because on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and in that He defeated death and the grave, proving that He can do the same for us if we put our faith in trust in Him. That's how you get to Heaven. That's how you become full in your heart. That's how you become reconciled to the God who created you.
Charlie’s and Myles are back up way nort this time-a-roo!
SKOL
So true about anything spicy or hot. Down here on the border, if it doesn't have a jalapeño or three in the entree, it won't pass muster. I get tickled when we get visitors from the GWN and they slowly die at every meal.
Then again...there's some fish-things they have up there that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot fork.
Hmm sorry what's GWN? 🤔
@@aisha2370 Always heard that area called the Great White North...they get a lot of snow...
I've never been to WI or MN, but the people seem nice!! I just love your accent, I'm from Colorado.
Introverts at a restaurant be like:
❤🤣 As a Canadian-Midwesterner this warms my heart. But cripes, I don’t care part of the world ya come from or live in, we should all strive to be just as plain flat out precious as Wisconsinites! ❤🍻🥰 (I can’t stop watching this for the hilarious joy within every, single 💯 true detail! 😂😂🥰)
Is it me, or did that waiter seem especially rude? (by everywhere standards)
Ayyy Big Ervs!!
The end... hmm.. I feel like..I've seen this before. I should call her...
lol, clean plate club. I use that all the time.
It's like watching Fargo but painfully accurate
Thought they were Jay and Silent Bob in the thumbnail
Clean plate club!!!
There are children starving in …
I don't know why, but these are just better on Charlie's channel
I guess we’ll have to share…again 😆🙌💎
You have to watch on both channels if you’re a real one
As a server I’m heading to the Midwest.
“Anyone here a doctor or no?”
Milk + corn = Tums . It's common sense.
Whyyy didn't you just eat the omelet for him???? Don't you love him??? Don't you care???? Lolz!!
And so, the Clean Plate Club takes another victim....
This is just living with anxiety lol
You need a sitcom
Free beer 🍺 ☕️..😜😂
Funny how guys in the Midwest behave very Canadian.
1:55. Midwest politeness acceptance😂
I don't mind being inconvenienced by new Charlie Berens videos.
I’ve always stacked the plates and put the silverware together after eating at a restaurant and my daughter does it too. I also make sure the condiments are nice and neat, even if I didn’t use them.
Im not from the Midwest, but I’m Catholic, and Catholics seem to be more considerate of others.
I've cried through many an amazing meal. Once I almost passed out for almost twenty minutes over how amazing pure cap wings were
I’d need life support fer that omelet
Keep er’ movin to the baathroom
