I don't agree with the geometrical dominator "pulse" part fix. In my opinion it's consistent because it's memorisation moreso than reaction, which is 90% of geometry dash (practice the layout until you know it then complete it in a single attempt), so doesn't really need a fix. Others I can agree with
You can sight read levels. Good levels are always sight readable. While muscle memory is sure a big part of the game specially for harder levels like insane and extreme demons. The good levels should always be sight readable so you can even complete them without the help of practice mode. Pure muscle memory isn't even fun and sight reading, reflexes and reaction is also a part of the skillful player. So geometry dash isn't purely a memory game
Note: I never used the term muscle memory, not sure how you came to that conclusion. I pointed out that you must learn the layout, that is not the same thing. Muscle memory is reserved for players who grind extreme demons. Furthermore, every modern level must be terrible with that reasoning, especially the harder demons. Moving objects, dim and glow effects, pulses, these are all regularly seen features of modern levels that make them very difficult to sight read. Without practice your progression will be absurdly slow. Alternatively you can just watch a YT video, but that's technically still a form of learning the layout. The standards have change, in the current era gameplay is secondary, and if it's not good looking or an extreme demon, a level won't get any proper attention. You appear to be still living in 1.9 era, much has changed since then and there's a reason I don't touch this game anymore. Beyond constantly trying to find the right FPS every time I attempt a demon, and other silly bugs.
I like the video idea but i think you nerfed the 80 ship and the geometrical dominater part way too much. Toe 2 is still supposed to be a demon and having the ship as a really hard part is a good way to climax the level. While i agree that its a little too harsh, I think that making it a wave and then putting in an upside down portal somwhere in the middle would be the best option so it keeps some difficulty while not being too easy. Now for geometrical dominator: The part you made was simply not memory anymore. Turning up the opacity just makes the pulse triggers obsolete because its not a memory part anymore, you can just see the blocks.
Lol everyone has their own skills they're good at. I struggled with these 3 parts so I balanced them according to my skill. Plus the video is just for fun, it's not like I want Rob to make these changes or anything that would be awful. I like these levels the way they are but if I made them, I would have done it a little more like this.

I'd personally keep the 80% ship part how it is, since it feels a lot more rewarding when you pass it. Deadlocked wave, never had much struggles with the momentum, even though I beat it on mobile, Andthe Geometrical Dominator part, like with Deadlocked, mostly an eh, I never found it difficult at all.
I disagree with all of the changes. Deadlocked and Toe II are demons, if they were chokepoints for you then that’s the point. They’re meant to be hard. The geometrical dominator one just wasn’t necessary in my opinion, I had trouble with is but it was a fun memory challenge.
I agree mostly except the deadlocked change, shit transitions add artificial difficulty and just feels cheap overall. Imo that was the only good change in the video
About TOE II i dont agree that they have to be nerfs i think he could've changed the gameplay a bit, but about deadlocked shittytransition =/= acceptable chokepoint
@@wowland6873 There is literally no artificial difficulty at all in that part and its not a bad transition if you can control it smoothly. The path is fixed, and with the Wave you only have to go DOWN when entering the Ship portal and then when entering the Ship portal just fly a little bit to stabilize yourself. If you want to see REAL "artificial difficulty" play Rupture by Jekko or Artificial Ideology by TeamN2
This is probably my biggest take when I say that my favorite part of Geometrical Dominator is the dark part. It's the best part of the song, best looking part, and pretty consistent when you get the hang of it. (FYI Geometrical Dominator is one of my favorite Robtop levels)
I actually like the geometrical dominator cube part. It’s really easy to memorize if you have good reaction time, so it’s more like a mix of fats reading and muscle memory. I also like how the pulse triggers sync a lot.

I recently beat toe 2 so here’s kind of a new players perspective on toe 2 80%; It’s not that hard. People overrate it, and it’s easier than most flying parts in clubstep. It’s a memorable part though, and definitely doesn’t need fixing. Liked the ideas you took with it tho
In my opinion all of those parts you fixed are perfect like they are because they add the intensity to the levels. And usually when you are trying to beat those levels and you get past the part your heart beat rises so fast.
I'm glad you like the difficulty spikes, but the goal of this video was mostly to make things more consistent. Consistent gameplay isn't for everyone but it's what I like so I changed the levels accordingly.
I think I’m the only human never to struggle with the 80 ship on toe 2. When I beat it on mobile the first time, the biggest choke point for me was the ufo sections near the end and at the beginning. I am quite good at ship tho

2:42 random thing you can do to make the transition more consistent: if you exit the dual wave with player 2 instead of player 1, the miniwave will be in reverse. theres a regular gravity portal at the ship transition, so rob probably knew about this and left it as a swag route. what he didnt know though, is that this actually makes the transition a bit more consistent. you see, one of the reasons that transition is so bad is that if the ship gets upward momentum from the wave, it means that youre holding, and therefore the ship will be adding its own upward momentum on top of that, which does not help at all. the same happens for downward momentum. now, if the miniwave is in reverse, when you get upward momentum from the wave it means yore *not* holding, and therefore the ship will start falling since it just went back to regular gravity, and the opposite happens if you het downward momentum. so its kinda self-correcting in a way, making the transition much more consistent at the cost of doing the miniwave in reverse. there are other factors that still make the transition pretty bad (very little reaction time + wave spam into ship transitions never being a good idea) but id say its better than before hope i explained it clear enough, it may be helpful for anyone trying to beat deadlocked or invisible deadlocked
honestly for toe 2 and geometrical dominator i passed those parts first try and found them quite fun. the toe 2 ship is really unique and interesting to me and i feel like there are enough indicators in the geometrical dominator memory part for it to be fair. the deadlocked transition is definitely a good change though
You know what, the actual fix of the 80% wave is to make the part before harder to make the difficulty jump not as noticeable. Like not that much harder, but just harder. Also, I kind of like the geo dominator memory part, it's kinda like a staple to that level.

Honestly the Geometrical Dominator part isn't that bad either. You can see some colourful pulsing stars showing the tops of the platforms and the orbs.
I always see this brought up, but the stars appear for a fraction of a second, it's still impossible to react on time, and that part remains as a memory part. This would only be valid if the stars gave you more reaction time AND indicated where jump pads would be
That's totally fair, and I also think they are fun. But a lot of people starting the game struggle with these parts so I wanted to balance them out a little bit.

For the geometrical dominator part, I would just have had all of the pillars occasionally pulse at the same time with the song, that way you keep the memory aspect while also injecting some fairness and variation
TOE2 : I disagree. Idk about nerfing the ship and i disagree about it being a mistake. I really dislike the way you nerfed it it just removes every single bit of originality out of it. I love this ship and would be extremely sad if it sas ever "fixed" Deadlocked : Agreed. Even though it can be consistant if you spam fast enough and stay centered which is too hard to do for an easy/medium demon and it makes the transition just horrible to play especially from 0 when you die 50x to the same random bullshit you barely can even control. And it's at 80%. So yeah this is a good fix even if some graviti portals would fit more with the song imo. Geometrical Dominator : I kinda disagree. I do agree if you think that every main level should be perfectly playable without peacticing but honestly it's easier than the rest if it wasn't for the fact that it's memory. But that's the point. It is memory and you're not supposed to "react" at all and i think people just cope on this saying it's bad while really it's just that they're too lazy to learn something for once. Overall a pretty cool concept but it would work better on user-created levels as the main levels are already really and i do mean REALLY well built.
Theres nothing wrong with the pulse part in geometrical dominator, it’s a memory part just like any other level. It’s fun and interesting. The others are good upgrades though

If there was a wave there then the balancing of the level would still be terrible because it just went from the hardest section to the easiest

Am i yhe only one who never had any trouble with geometrical dominator? I always thought it was pretty clear where you had to go without any memory needed, the stars are there for that reason

For the geometrical dominator part, I would just have had all of the pillars occasionally pulse at the same time with the song, that way you keep the memory aspect while also injecting some fairness and variation

Idk about nerfing the ship and i disagree about it being a mistake. I really dislike the way you nerfed it it just removes every single bit of originality out of it. I love this ship and would be extremely sad if it sas ever "fixed"

Even though it can be consistant if you spam fast enough and stay centered which is too hard to do for an easy/medium demon and it makes the transition just horrible to play especially from 0 when you die 50x to the same random bullshit you barely can even control. And it's at 80%. So yeah this is a good fix even if some graviti portals would fit more with the song imo.
Geometrical Dominator : I kinda disagree.
I do agree if you think that every main level should be perfectly playable without peacticing but honestly it's easier than the rest if it wasn't for the fact that it's memory. But that's the point. It is memory and you're not supposed to "react" at all and i think people just cope on this saying it's bad while really it's just that they're too lazy to learn something for once.
Overall a pretty cool concept but it would work better on user-created levels as the main levels are already really and i do mean REALLY well built.
I like the hard ship in TOE2. It makes me get nervous when I know it's coming up. I don't think it's that hard, all you have to do is practice. :)
