Wow what a build, loved the in depth description on the dry sump and it’s benefits, I never thought about the reduction in crank resistance before, I thought it was all about gaining ground clearance. Is there any trade off in engine life caused by potential ‘reduced lubrication’ to the crank if it’s no longer swimming in oil?
I really enjoy these vids. One of my next projects will be building a M57 for my TD6 Range Rover - great motors! One question: do you have any tips for cleaning the intake manifolds? Machine shops in my area do not want them in their hot tanks, and I have resorted to all sorts of things from oven cleaner to pressure washing to dragging stainless pot scrubbers through the intake on loops of wire. And aside from always making a HUGE mess of myself and my surroundings, I have never been happy with the results. 2:05 I agree completely with OEM parts, but I will not use parts from the OEM itself if it can be avoided (your BMW stickered starter). I always look for OE parts from the suppliers (Bosch, Mahle, Valeo...). 99% of the time buying from the dealer is akin to using a good scotch to disinfect your hands... 😛
Morning Sir there’s a reason we’ve never fitted one behind one but I believe providing you don’t breach the 200bhp mark you’ll be fine with a Winchester HD unit.
Ball park figure (yes, I know it's hard to say off the top of your head) - how much to turn a Suzuki Jimny into a WW2 Willys Jeep? Love your work, but I just can't afford to have a 90 'done' as I would want too much. But a Willys Jeep would be (I hope!) cheaper. You can pick up a base Jimny for £4,000. Thanks for your time.
Which one of this weeks builds would you have?
Ninja for me👊
It’s a beauty isn’t it
Has to be Dumbo for me, but only if the Dirty 130 isn’t on the menu ?
Love the 330d, the sound of that engine 👍
It’s cool isn’t it. It drives great in the Land Rover too
Best Landrover defender engineers in uk 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Thanks so much 🙏
Love the white 200tdi. Can we see some more of the 200tdi’s. The spec and finish you perform on them is amazing.
Thanks. It’s going to be a beautiful car

Nice analogy there! Wouldn’t want to waste a good whiskey
My tech used traffic film remover on my n57 inlet and reported good results 😊
We use G101 cleaner then steam clean
Proper engineering!!👌👏
In our workshop. Only proper engineering
What makes you guys use the MT82 Vs. BMW gearbox, just OEM fitment benefits, or do you think it's a better gearbox?
David, what roll cage you use inside is it PP Cages or SafetyDevices ?
Do you sell the m57 ac pump bracket?
We sure do £295 plus vat
Question: Can the R380 handle the torque from the M57?

Answer: M54.
Question: Does the airbag suspension articulate as well as factory springs off-road?
