awesome content, just got a supercharged x and looking to do the same kinds of trips as you have. Alaska looked like a blast. I do have a couple questions though. Why did you replace the upper arm of the suspension? were they broken or were they upgrades that allowed more travel? Because they looked pretty similar to stock aside from the paint. With the PML, once you replace the shocks can you just crank the keys up further to get more lift? Mine has oem shocks but I did a PML and it still has some rake to it, even after cranking the keys. I was wondering if the oem shocks were holding me back. do you have a body lift? lockers? just wondering what are some more important items to get before I go on some more trips, thanks!
Thanks for commenting. So I replaced the UCA's with Calmini ones they provide a better ball joint angle for when the truck sits higher, while giving a little more room for articulation. Thus the shocks were now to short to get the full articulation. When I only had pml I cranked the torsion bars until I had a quarter inch ball joint gap. So yes the UCA's provide a little more lift or articulation, but no need for longer shocks with factory UCA's. Lockers will be coming soon. I do have a 2" body lift. And I did not doo the diff drop. No issues yet. Thanks for the questions, I hope I answered them. I'm regular on Clubxterra.org. it has all the answers you could dream of!
Thanks for the shout out 😂 I know it's been a few months since you added the leaf spring eye bushing, hopefully it's working out. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but it kind of depends on the density of the bushing that you used and how tight the insert and the actual bushing into the eye is. Always wondered if (with the body lift) one could raise the gas tank? With you poking around down there, I was wondering if you contemplated it/checked on its feasibility of it being able to be done?
Hey! I did look into it a little. The ABS and brake lines would need to be disconnected from the frame cross members along with the fuel filter, Then some brackets and longer bolts? That's all that I could see... I haven't had any issues out of the leaf springs. It did eliminate some unwanted noises! The bushings we're definitely stiffer than what originally was there, but I'm not worried about it. Thanks for watching.

Dude is that ground safe to jack up on, doesn't look level and looks soft? if you're making such a big trip to alaska. WRT the leaf spring bushing, since you already broke a leaf on the left side, it makes no sense to just replace bushing on the right. You should replace that right spring with a new one, you break a leaf out there you're hosed. Not to mention its new on left, and used on right.
I have a steel plates in-between the ground and the jack stands it's gravel below that. If you noticed I only took one side apart at a time and I also placed the tires under the car, the rest of the yard is mud and that won't do. I never got underneath the car when both tires were off. You're correct about replacing both leaf spring packs...but all this and the trip is coming out of my pocket, and I only work part time as I'm still in school, not to mention my budget....The car doesn't have that many miles so I decided to take the chance. As there is plenty of more important things to purchase when driving to Alaska. The odds are that I didn't break the leaf spring and it probably happened when it was wrecked before I got it. I've almost had it two years.I had to have it back together by Monday morning, and had to stay within my budget. A lot of people would have replaced both sides with ones from a junkyard. Thanks for the input.

@Murphykg5odm, maybe I missed it but what snorkel is that?
It’s just a cheap one off of eBay. It’s for a Nissan D22. It fits, but you would need to purchase a flexible duct pipe also.
Did you make your rear shackles or where did you order them?
I made the ones on mine, but I purchased some for my previous Xterra.
Here they are. www.4x4parts.com/i-18981171-xterra-adjustable-lift-shackles.html
I got the same year xterra 2003 and I have flashing dashboard lights the go on and off when I tryd cleaning the switch but nothing , any ideas? Thanks
