  • Big tire pre run, running the trail before slapping on the smaller 31” tires! Many capable rigs and wheelers here in this vid. The #SoupBowl obstacle is a difficult one to crawl up “dry”, and a whole different animal, with all the soup mid way up and at the base of this under cut obstacle. Anytime in the hills, is a great time, especially wheelin’ with great folks and friends! Such an excellent off road experience!

I’ve got a question. Are you guys running the trail all the way out to Tahoe and driving roads back to the staging, trailer parking area at the dam or do you turn around and do the trail in reverse? I’ll be out there in a couple weeks and worried about my registered and insured but not very ‘street legal’ FJ40 buggy getting pulled over on the roads.

No, we normally don’t run the trail all the way through, ideally we camp for a few days, and drive the trail in sections, up to soup bowl, or little sluice, lots of guys wheel in and camp at Buck. Lots of camping spots right off the trail.
A couple of my buddys have done a run called the Triple A run, where they drive there rigs through the ‘con, hit asphalt to the trek, and wheel that trail and drive back to the trails, lots of payment in between, seems like they hadn’t had a problem with rigs on the roads, yet. Most of them run 40plus tires, lic and insured of course lol.
