The chipped wood you saw was the clearing they cut for a fire break we have a cabin back there on the Wilson cattle ranch so I've been lucky enough to spent summers up there for 60 years
You drove past are cabin and it wasn't managing it was a fire break it was there last stand and it saved the ranch all three cabins survived the ranch has been there since the 40s
