I had the rare Honor of watching them live in concert, I dont have word to describe how out of world experince was that.I will cherish it rest of my life. Such an humble person.RIP Ustad Sultan. Khan.
I also saw them perform. As a white dude from Canada, cannot express how phenomenal it was. Zakir is always otherworldly, and Khan really makes it whole.
I never personally see Khan ji! But he seems to be a humble person 🙏🙏🙏 irrespective of his religion! He was the great Son of Maa Saraswati 🙏🙏

Sultan Khan ji started off Saraswati really beautifully, but looks like Zakir Khan's tabla playing matched his terrible mood ;-) What was all that drama about taking back chai or reference to Amitabh Bachhan's film, all in such poor taste :( Surely, no amount of sound system adjustments isn't going to correct a poorly tuned tabla... :(

What's wrong with his temper
I think people don't give adequate respect to musicians. Zakir ji just corrects people on the spot. Undoubtedly he is the greatest of all time in Tabla. I think people should treat this concerts more seriously and not just take them for granted by distracting themselves.
Khair manaiye....had there been Pt. Kishan Maharaj, chamaat mar dete koi bhi disturb karne walo ko. But I agree Zakirji could have been slight more polite. This is not his usual self.

We all know that Zakir is a tablist par excellence, but as a viewer I find his constant instructions to the sound engineer for adjustments while he finally gets going with his tabla quite repellent, and not very respectful of Sultan khan (it took 15 mts of it). Then at the end, he addresses the audience at the back to tell them off for reasons known only to himself. This was his solo, but even in his sangat performances with established instrumentalists, he stage manages the show in different ways, which is quite offensive and at times quite unnecessary. Would better tablist than himself (such as the great Ahmedjan Thirakwa or his own dad, to name but two) behave like this? A little modesty and humility will go a long way in adding our appreciation of his great talents I think.
