Absolutely beautiful. That song fits perfectly and poor Jack -- can anyone blame him for leaving this graveyard known as Earth?! He's lost so much. I'm in tears again. Keep up the wonderful job! I watch your videos repeatedly because they touch a part of me that very few others do.
The years have passed but I watch this and start to cry like the first time. The song is perfect for the story and John Barrowman has the most amazing voice. He sings this so perfectly. He is the best, by far.
This is definitely one of the sadest Jack-Videos I've ever seen. It's done very, very, very well and I love John's voice, but when I realized WHAT he sings, I really felt a bit depressed. But it's one of my favorite videos anyway. Great job :-')
Oh, wow... poor Jack... it feels almost as if this song was written for him, with everyone he loves dying, and him having to live with the 'empty chairs' they leave behind. Makes sense why he left after COE. I loved all the scenes of death, with the little scenes of happiness and life thrown in there... I'm completely choked up now, but it's worth it. The fact that it even sounds like his voice makes this even more perfect.
Wow. Just wow. That was so heartbreaking and I just can't get over how perfect that song was. And it was sang by John Barrowman himself which made it ever better. AMAZING!
Brilliant, sad but brilliant all the same. John Barrowman's lovely vocals on a meaningful song and all the clips fit together. You can just imagine Jack humming this song thousands of years later, with vague memories of Ianto, Tosh, Gwen and everyone else that he's lost over time.
How beautiful, but endlessly sad and tragic....Poor Capt. Jack, loosing everyone of his team, his friends, except for Gwen...great video...with that song...sung by John...perfect!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! This vid gave me goose bumps and I had tears in my eyes watching this! I rarely leave comments of late as I watch soooooooo many vids in my role of Co-Admin of a Torchwood FB page with OVER 6,000 members, I have to look for fresh content to post. I would loooooove to feature this vid on our page before Torchwood: Miracle Day airs =)
Impossible to find a song that would fit better. You did a super job. It was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Thanks for posting and sharing.
You have me crying. This was so powerful. The song was so perfect and to have it song by John was so pignant. The editing was beautiful and matched the song perfectly. I've saved it to favorites
what a great job! Everything perfectly runs together according to the phrases and moods. You must be a real admirer! But honestly, I've seen SO many of these types of edited songs and vids. This is THE best. Well done & thx
I love John Barrowman's voice, he sings this so beautifully. It describes Captain Jack so well. Although Eddie Redmayne sings it almost better. But thank you for posting this. Makes me cry.
I saw "Les Mis" in our local theatre - this song is a most power evoker of emotions; your video with the tract is doubled that impact. Bravo!! I don't know if the Doctor can fix Jack this time . . . he's probably gone in search for him though. ;)
Very nice, and nicely put together. I would have put in Ianto's death scene too (you had Tosh's and Owen's more than once), because Ianto was pretty important to Jack. But still, very moving and I love that song.
Wow. I am in awe of your talent and skills - your videos are absolutely stunning - heart-wrenching, perfectly edited, and just beautiful overall. I've never subscribed to a channel before, but your videos make me want to start. Just...wow. Amazing.
Sooooory, posting on iPod and hit wrong key.... Grrrrrr! Anyway what I wanted to say was ...... I can't remember how many times I've watched this vid. It's one of my all time favourites AND it was a hit on our page too! A lot of people liked it..... Hopefully boosted your numbers a bit =) PLEASE message me if you are doing any more TW vids..... I'll be interested to see it with a view to post again. Also DW if you do them (sorry long day and can't remember) Regards Jollieollie36 =D
Now I wonder: did RTD learn at the feet of Joss Kill-'em-when-they're-well-loved Whedon? He said in a convention panel that Jack HAS to suffer hugely; that's the whole point. The same has been said of Angel... and Wes, of course Alexis Denisof said they would have postponed Fred's end if the show had gone on, & let the relationship develop first, but only to make it even more heartbreaking! JW gave AD the choice to let Wes die or not but then he cried when he read the script... aw!
Interesting though, is that Jack lost not only his special team, the hub, but everything of importance to him and or Torchwood. The loss of material things can hurt too but not as badly as the loss of dear friends. So everyone, cherish your friends -- they mean more to you than you think.
Wow, way to make me cry. Awesome choice of a song (where'd the track come from? I haven't seen it on his iTunes albums...), and beautiful clips to go along. Definitely a new favorite.
Damn! you took my idea! aww! oh well you did it better than i ever could of but i will make mine so if you ever find it and see it i didn't ake your idea i had the for ages then my laptop explioed and i lost all my video clips and music and JOHN BARROWMAN PICTURES ALL 4932 OF THEM GONE!!!!!
(chuckling about you being in denial over Ianto's death) Oh dear. It can take one like that. I've heard some people were so upset and angry about Fred's death that they threw away all their Buffy and Angel DVDs and stuff, swearing never to watch any of it again.
This is REALLY good! Where did you get the song? I've been trying to find him singing this for ages!! I saw him in Les Cages on Thurs with Simon Burke & they were AMAZING together! I wish that they would do a cast recording of it. They doing song on the sand... *sigh*
I know RTD has left Doctor Who but has he left Torchwood as well? If so, he's saddling someone else with the problem of introducing a new team and getting us to accept them. To continue with the Angel analogy, JW said he'd made a mistake in Angel S1 not having an ensemble cast from early on. Maybe he regretted delaying Wesley's arrival and killing off Doyle?
Hmm... not quite sure about that, shutterflie. I hear that JW brought Warren back in the comics, saying he hadn't quite completely died. When fans pointed out that he must have died or he couldn't have been The First, JW said "Look, I just FORGOT, ok?" Oh well, Warren Mears was not a beloved character. And JW is not as much of a geek as we fans are.... Now I feel like a real saddo. LOL
(sorry for late response) ok, I didn't know RTD had been so rude about fans; that's not cool. Reminds me a bit of David Boreanaz saying things like "I have no interest in talking about something I did years ago" (re Angel) ... talk about ungracious and ungrateful to fans who put him where he is!
I think RTD wants to be Joss Whedon, HOWEVER, JW actually has respect for the fans and killing beloved characters has become a sort of a trademark, so the audience is always on edge. RTD's version of this is "nobody dies, it's sci-fi, we're ok, lalala BOOM DEAD IANTO BWAHAHA SUCK IT FANS" whereas Joss is more of a "yeah, they died. Yeah, I'm sad about it too. Don't worry, lots of other nice people. I acknowledge your sadness"
Wow, I hadn't heard of RTD saying that about 9 hysterical women. When? Was it in response to 9 women begging him to bring back Ianto? If so I can see his point; it's been decided so it's over Really, I just wondered whether he'd learned that the way to get lots of attention & emotional involvement from fans is by killing off loved characters JW didn't bring back Tara, Fred, Cordy (except that once) or Doyle, so he didn't respect fans' wishes there, & got quite angry at fans disliking Dawn
...i forget what i said and i can't find it...?? Oh, UA-cam, sily thing. :) So, I'm not sure what exactly it was i said, but i'm sure it was along the lines of "RTD would like to BE JW, except without the nice bit". But RTD has been horrible to upset fans of TW, saying things like if we want happy endings, to go watch Supernatural and demeaning our numbers and whatnot. Hadn't quite completely died. Oh, Joss.
Yeah that's a great idea
Set John Barrowman singing Empty Chairs at Empty tables to fucking Torchwood
Fucking great idea
And then go and make everyone cry and tear our hearts to shreds. Brilliant idea. Fabulous.
It's fine, it's not like I actually needed my heart for anything, John might as well rip it into shreds
His voice is...wow... -3 I love this man!!!
My mascara is dripping down my face
The years have passed but I watch this and start to cry like the first time.
The song is perfect for the story and John Barrowman has the most amazing voice. He sings this so perfectly. He is the best, by far.
This is definitely one of the sadest Jack-Videos I've ever seen. It's done very, very, very well and I love John's voice, but when I realized WHAT he sings, I really felt a bit depressed. But it's one of my favorite videos anyway. Great job :-')
This was utterly beautiful and I about cried (AGAIN) when I saw what you refer to as "THAT SCENE." gorgeous. kudos.
Beautiful and beautifully done, Buffyanp. Thanks for this.
This makes me bawl
I never get tired of hearing him sing
Oh, wow... poor Jack... it feels almost as if this song was written for him, with everyone he loves dying, and him having to live with the 'empty chairs' they leave behind. The fact that it even sounds like his voice makes this even more perfect.
Is that really sung by John B? This is just too epic for words. Perfect, simply amazing.
Wow.
So perfect! And even more perfect with John Barrowman's version of it!
Amazing work on your part. How many times have I watched / heard this, and I sob every time anew.
Perfect! John Barrowman's singing, Jack's sorrow and the best song for it ^_^ You are my idol!
Beautifully done, Love to John..
Beautiful what a voice I’m crying here
20 seconds in and I'm crying, this is perfect.
This is brilliant, really heartbreaking ;C And JB has such a beautiful voice, the song is very fitting :)
Damn, that makes me sad. In a good way. Good work.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! This vid gave me goose bumps and I had tears in my eyes watching this!

this ripped out my heart
You have me crying. This was so powerful. The song was so perfect and to have it song by John was so pignant. The editing was beautiful and matched the song perfectly. I've saved it to favorites
this is the most heartbreaking thing i have ever seen.
What a fantastic video. Beautifull song (song by mr barrowman is a plus) and perfect images. Well done.
what a great job! Everything perfectly runs together according to the phrases and moods. You must be a real admirer! But honestly, I've seen SO many of these types of edited songs and vids. This is THE best. Well done & thx
How great! Thank you for this!
I love this vid so much. Ive watched it tons. Its just so perfect.
Beautiful vid, nearly makes me cry all those lost ones...Poor Jack...and poor little us fans :-(
Oh this is so sad... and heartbreaking. But amazing choice of song. Well done, you!
This is so beautiful! The vid is lovely, and the song completely sums up Jack & Torchwood. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning, you have done a wonderful job of bringing the emotion to this, I can't stop watching it (and it is 2am!) thank you
This was truly beautiful. You had me crying

I'm distantly related to John Barrowman, yay.
anyways, it fits so well. *wells up*
I love John Barrowman's voice, he sings this so beautifully. It describes Captain Jack so well. Although Eddie Redmayne sings it almost better. But thank you for posting this. Makes me cry.
i cry when i hear this song but John Barrowman singing it makes it better and this video is just amazing well done :)

Great video. I loved it!

SCREAMS BECAUSE I HAVEN'T FINISHED TORCHWOOD YET. OH MY GOD NO.
Wow, way to make me cry. Awesome choice of a song (where'd the track come from? I haven't seen it on his iTunes albums...), and beautiful clips to go along. Definitely a new favorite.

Who is Marius?
(sorry for late response) ok, I didn't know RTD had been so rude about fans; that's not cool.
Reminds me a bit of David Boreanaz saying things like "I have no interest in talking about something I did years ago" (re Angel) ... talk about ungracious and ungrateful to fans who put him where he is!
I like your shoelaces :)
He sounds great singing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, but he just isn't Michael Ball.
I think RTD wants to be Joss Whedon, HOWEVER, JW actually has respect for the fans and killing beloved characters has become a sort of a trademark, so the audience is always on edge. RTD's version of this is "nobody dies, it's sci-fi, we're ok, lalala BOOM DEAD IANTO BWAHAHA SUCK IT FANS"

Hadn't quite completely died. Oh, Joss.
Don't watch this after Season Three, Children of the Earth: Day Four. Just. Don't.
all of you who think this is ok there is something wrong with you
