I don’t think ordinary user needs this M2 version, m1 would be enough for everything. But I’m upgrading from 9,7 2018 version to M2 12,9. I’ve used previous one for 5 years and I’m going to pass it to my family member. And I love this device, so last version with great amount of ram and the best M2 is the best investment in my art future. I don’t need Mac book, and I use windows for computer work. But nothing can beat iPad for drawing at a tablet anywhere you go. ❤
If you’re an artist Procreate is a killer application. Outside of that it’s a good casual computing device but not excellent in my opinion as most software seems gimped.

I draw lots of organic molecules for various reports and it’s saved me so much time, not to mention the quality of note taking that can be done with the setup. I would easily give it a 10/10. (Also the battery doesn’t hold up to my MacBook Pro, but nothing does but it more than lasts me through the day. 🤷♂️)

Just from my humble perspective, the m2 ipad pro isn’t that much of an upgrade, because the distinctive upgrades are merely the chip and apple pencil hover. Plus, if you’re not an expert with demanding tasks the m1 is already enough. I have the m1 12.9 inch with magic keyboard and apple pencil and that’s just gonna satisfy my needs for another 5 years. But the m2 is an excellent device❤
