Chapter One. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. The prosecutor on my case was a sixteen year old psychopath who wanted to take me down, no matter how nice I was to her on the phone. And they kept accusing me of lying. Unbelievable. My name is James Johnson and this is sort of my story."
My man Joe C probably does try to pay bills on time and follow the laws, and he's made that like a core part of his pysche. "I follow the rules and do the right thing." It's so central to his identity that obviously YOU are in the wrong if it ever turns out he has broken a rule and you have the temerity to call him out on it. People can get so far up their own rear ends it's a wonder they don't vanish completely.
People can also cling to that when the rest of their life is crumbling around them. I believe he found the $180 a bigger burden than usual given recent changes in life circumstances.
Thinking the same thing. Everyone has challenges in their life, buck up and take responsibility instead of whining like a petulant child. And his “piece of work” characterization of the officer was hysterical, think he had that a little backwards. What a douche.

I'm glad my county is kind about registration issues. I used to be paid once per month. With insurance and other annual bills, paying car registration was always done after 3 pm at the courthouse the day before it was due (so my check hit the bank when my paycheck did). By the first of the month I knew how much money should be left for groceriesbafter auto bills were paid. Two days after registration was due one year I got pulled over by the Sheriff as I went home after the monthly grocery shop. He asked if I knew why he stopped me. I was tired and baffled. I'd been busy. He then said it was only 2 days overdue, but my registration was out-of-date. I just sighed, dropped my head to my steering wheel and said "THAT's why there's still money in the bank!" The deputy tried to stifle a laugh, wrote me a fix-it ticket and I got to go pay on Monday and have the ticket dismissed. It was an extra stop, but cheaper than $180 ticket!

Here in Ontario where I live if you have an expired tag if you can prove to the cops that you renewed it within 24 hrs they'll often delete the ticket. You have to go to the issuing station and provide the receipt and the sticker (which we put on our plates up here). Not always but some will offer that to you when issuing the ticket. I once drove a whole year without renewing it and when I went to renew it for the coming year the woman at the counter said "you be skipping a year".. HUH? you didn't renew it last year...NO SHIT? OOOPS lol "well you saved yourself $108"
“I ain’t the person they’re trying to make me out to be”-Johnson ITS HIS OWN VOICE IN THE PHONE RECORDING MAKING THREATS ! Good grief he can’t beat that in court at all. These people act so innocent even though the evidence is always overwhelming against them. When I was an officer, specifically Sgt Det criminal investigations, my favorite request in court when it came time for me to testify was “may I play a recording ?” Then I played the video or audio recording of them committing the crime or confessing to it. I let the defendant do my job for me in court. Of course there were always follow up questions but a defense can’t work with the defendant telling on themselves in their own voice on a recording. Because the prosecution asks “is that your voice on the recording, or you face on video?” No choice but to say yes. Just like James here his voice is on the recording and he knew the jail phones are recorded. There’s no denying it and if it sounds like there’s Ill intent then there is no talking his way out of it and no defending it. This is why I always told the suspects I interviewed you have the right to not talk and you’ve waived your rights. However I suggest you don’t say anything but it’s ultimately your choice. Very few remained silent . I just don’t understand If I’m ever in trouble the only thing on my recording will be “lawyer”.
I hate when people say," I'm not the person they're trying to make me out to be". No one is trying to make you look like anything. You are doing that. Law isn't feeling, it's facts. If you're looking bad, that's because you're doing bad. And don't bring your son up. You should be home with him. I get times are hard, I'm a single mom and I have no support and I'm broke, but I work at a store and do what I can, I stay clean, I have 4 1/2 years clean. You always have a choice. You don't need to sell drugs. That's an old exscuse.

I would like to see Mr Cesear say to HIS Wife " You are a REAL piece of work "... for not renewing the vehicle registration which costs me a $175 fine.... and I had to go to Court. And as Magistrate Fink pointed out... Had his actually registration ACTUALLY been paid on the EXACT day he was pulling over... the ticket ' might ' be dismissed. BUT... He LIED to the Officer. Karma
Ahh Old Style, the PBR of Illinois. Speaking of… I remember drunkenly walking by the the Billy Goat Tavern once under that sketchy bridge (I’ve not been back to Chi town in years tbh) and decided we needed a double cheeseburger. My friend wasn’t prepared nor did they know the old SNL bit. I kinda felt bad for putting them in that situation. “You don’t actually have to get a double cheezborger with chips and a Pepsi , fam”. lol It was a violently Chicagoan experience for my friend. I think they forgave me? lol
If you're concerned about your son's birthday, one sure fire way to guarantee you will be there and not in jail is, don't commit any more crimes. If I had a son that wouldn't be a problem you know, because, I guess I'm weird, but I don't break the law. Now whether or not his mother would allow me to, that's another story lol

I once drove a whole year without renewing it and when I went to renew it for the coming year the woman at the counter said "you be skipping a year".. HUH? you didn't renew it last year...NO SHIT? OOOPS lol "well you saved yourself $108"
Great Friday night Mike!!! I laughed SO much!! You’re so funny!!! Keep being awesome!! 🥰❤️🌻
“How about a million” boomed into the channel like the voice of God! 😂
“I ain’t the person they’re trying to make me out to be”-Johnson
ITS HIS OWN VOICE IN THE PHONE RECORDING MAKING THREATS ! Good grief he can’t beat that in court at all. These people act so innocent even though the evidence is always overwhelming against them.
When I was an officer, specifically Sgt Det criminal investigations, my favorite request in court when it came time for me to testify was “may I play a recording ?”
Then I played the video or audio recording of them committing the crime or confessing to it.
I just don’t understand
If I’m ever in trouble the only thing on my recording will be “lawyer”.
He KNEW they would hear it. He said " since the prosecutor wants to listen to my calls- she can " orally caress me."
Jessica Blanch always has the same pose with her hand on her head 😂
When the Cubs were bad in the 70s, I drank Old Style to take the pain away from the Cubs performance at Wrigley field but I sure paid for it later.
😂😂😂😂 I love that judge Simpson, he is hilarious.😅😅😅
I hate when people say," I'm not the person they're trying to make me out to be". No one is trying to make you look like anything. You are doing that. Law isn't feeling, it's facts. If you're looking bad, that's because you're doing bad. And don't bring your son up. You should be home with him. I get times are hard, I'm a single mom and I have no support and I'm broke, but I work at a store and do what I can, I stay clean, I have 4 1/2 years clean. You always have a choice. You don't need to sell drugs. That's an old exscuse.
Well done you x
With such a string of bad decisions I have no sympathy for him missing his children’s birthdays. I would love it if you could get Jessica Blanch on stream with you. Her stone faced demeanor is amazing.
👍
The children are nothing but a crutch.
We need all of James Johnson court appearances in one place. Call it the J.Johnson saga a must watch!
Karma
He wrote nasty letters to his court appointed attorney. Sounds like he threatened him.
Would love to know more about these letters.
I bet judge Fink was wishing that can was filled with something a little stronger! Lmao!
“You don’t actually have to get a double cheezborger with chips and a Pepsi , fam”. lol
It was a violently Chicagoan experience for my friend. I think they forgave me? lol
😂
Deputy Keith reminds me of Al, Tim "The tool man" Taylor's side kick.
Judge Webster, "sir, you've made your bed poorly; now you'll have to lay in it!"
I like this lady. Smart and fair.
His wife does not have cancer as he has proven himself a liar! Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
Hey man...I drive a 2004 Pontiac Vibe....has over 300,000 miles on it and STILL runs amazingly. She’s been good to me.
This is one of the best judges. She’s smart as they come and compassionate when allowed.
Just found your channel🥳🤩💝. Some of the best court cases I’ve seen yet! Thank you for the uploads and efforts taken to do so! Not only subscribed but hit that lil

Thank You

Dude, if you think the car tag fine is bad, wait till you see the fine for contempt of court!
🤣🤣😂😂Great Friday afternoon chat
🤩
It’s amazing how everybody suddenly has a dead aunt, a sick wife and a children’s birthday when they want a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Im still lauging at the PD
Hey, Mr. Johnson, you want out of jail?🤔 STOP GETTING IN TROUBLE AND YOU CAN StAY OUT!! 😆
I believe justice Alito would have called his argument applesauce.
I wish the Officer had said "You're quite welcome, Sir" to the "thanks buddy" comment. :)
Mr. Vincent looks like he should be a professor in a movie. I hope I look that cool when I'm his age.
👍
Imagine being part of the that bust. That narcotic team that spent all the man hours watching, and doing undercover deals to sign the forms by the judge for the raid then to find out after all that work, this man walks after a few days..
Finally someone who takes responsibility. Nice change of pace.
I love it when the guilty think representing the selves is going to show their innocence ?😅😅😅😅😅
Thanxx again Mike 👀✌️😎
The worst ones always can be so charming. But really his record speaks volumes.
I love the Thruple clip too! Thanx!
I would have guessed PhD in philosophy with an emphasis on Husserl and the Cartesian meditations. Describing the nexus of phenomenology and epistemology. Who won the pool?😊
