As an American, I didn’t know who Fred was until a few years ago. My dad was a “Renaissance Man” , not quite the steam buff that Fred was but they could have had some interesting conversations over a pint or 2. It’s great that someone took note of him and documented so much for others to learn about Great men , like Fred. As a welder, I have to work at heights sometimes and tbo, it scares the crap out of me. You couldn’t put 10 million dollars on top of one of those chimneys and have me climb it like Fred did. Hell of a man. Much love from Raeford North Carolina, USA 🤙🤙

I only found Fred a couple years ago and have watched everything I can find in the man since. He was a treasure and even though I didn’t know him I feel like I did. Great man!
I'm Belgian, and I so often review Fred's videos, as him I'm a big fan of steam and the victorian era and the grief over these long lost monuments, Freds a true hero to me, going into the finest detail. Belgium followed close up in the industrial revolution, we to had coal mining, steel industry and mills, sort of mini Britain, unfortunately we had two devastating WW, but a few pearls of that era survived. And as in Britain, our industry moved to Asia, some of these buildings where just saved at the brink of devastation. Thank God, we had politicians and developer who thought of repurposing these beautiful buildings, some have become museums, cultural exhibition centers, and private homes. I don't understand while Britain has such a big housing shortage, they don't convert these abandoned mills into new homes, while saving the character of these buildings… Well made video, love to see a young generation paying the respect to Fred and his work👍
Aww mate 😢 beautiful… I cried! You did Fred proud! Thank you! Amazing! I was 17 when he passed… brought back so many happy memories from the past watching him growing up at my grandparents house on a Sunday that have both sadly passed on too. He was inspiring & warm & captured generations with his knowledge of a by gone era the ways & knowledge of old.

Wow what a great video i was expecting a older guy to be doing this but what a insperation to see a much younger guy telling his story is cool.Fred was such a hero and upstanding person. When I watched a documentary series about him, the thing I remember most is when he and his family went on holiday and even on that holiday, he was knocking down a chimney. I mean he only had a holiday there because there happened to be a chimney there he was knocking down. A unique and fascinating character.
I once met Fred in my local chippy around 75, he was demolishing a chimney in Clifton, he was black as coal but laughing tucking into his dinner on the land rover bonnet, a bigger than life character with time for all, his passing brought a tear 😢
Young man, thank you for producing such a fine work. It’s nice to see a modern generation respecting such a unique individual who was “stuck in the wrong era”. A prestigious lost treasure of Britain was and is Fred. I’m blessed to have grown up watching his Tv antics in admiration of his abilities and knowledge..
Thank you so much! I really do appreciate the kind words and I echo everything you said about Fred. he was taken far too soon. he had so much more to offer too. thanks once again and take care :)
@@daftmonkey7296 I’m just watching episode 2 of FRED, he made me ROFL . Just come down from a chimney and he’s talking to an Indian gentleman. “Ay you’ll be alright with that now, you’ll be able to send smoke signals down ta shop in Bolton “ 😝 but then does a bit of dealing over an old boiler in the gentleman’s shop. Just brilliant
Great video and tribute. Well done. I drive past many of the buildings/area every day in many of the documentaries and such on Fred. Lived in Lancashire all my life and I have admired Fred for pretty much all of my 52 years. I watched him drop a few chimneys around us. An amazing spectacle, but also sad. To see something disappear in such a short time that had stood since before I was even a person. Fred was one of my family to. Or so it felt like that. As to so many others, also. And it was a very sad day when he left us. But unlike many. Fred lives on through the wonders of TV and videos. RIP Fred. I'll seeya one day, soon.
Poor Fred, went too soon. He`ll always be our legend. RIP sir. ``did you like that`` [for a young lad Anthony, you manage to bring me to tears with the way you tell some of these stories.
What a great video again& I looked after Fred Dinah when he was in hospital with cancer & what a lovely man he was & in worked in the coal mines like my uncle 👍
What a beautiful video. Thank you so much for all your hard work. He clearly left an impression on you, as he did so many of us. I was born in 1971, so can remember the original series being on TV. He made a massive impact on my life and how I am now. A very approachable man. I once phoned him up as an eleven year old kid and travelled from Burnley Lancashire to his house on the bus. His 2nd wife seemed concerned about me bussing back to Burnley on my own. That was the first time I met him and he was just as you might have expected him to be. He would probably wonder what all the fuss was about. At 51 I still regularly watch his videos and documentaries now. You have surprised me, pleasantly, that younger people like yourself are taking something from his work. Amazing. Like I said, an absolutely wonderful moving tribute to a living legend. Thank you so very much. Robert.

Thank you so much mate! I really appreciate the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it! Onto the next one now 😁💫
Hearing him describe his process as opposed to dynamite always brings me joy: “It’s more of a spectacle” - the man knew the reasons he did what he did and how!
I agree, he had a very beautiful way with words. He was amazing. Thanks for watching ⭐️
Thank you, I feel your emotion.
He really was something amazing....a true legend.
Thank you so much Ewen, much appreciated 👍🏼
You certainly know how to make a documentary. Very respectful, lots of information, and a truly amazing insight into the late Fred Dibnah's life and work. Fred was most definitely a character, and a very hard worker indeed. We need more Fred's.
Thank you so much for the kind words mate! I really do appreciate it. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I couldn’t agree with you more. We need more Fred’s in this word. What a guy. take care mate and thanks once again ⭐️👍🏼

Your original Fred Dibnah video was the first I had watched and have been hooked on your content ever since, your passion for history and the way you tell the story are an inspiration. Keep up the fantastic work.
That really does mean a lot ! Thank you so much. Your viewership is much appreciated! Thank you for sticking with the channel and hopefully it won’t be the last Fred video I do 😉 take care and thank you once again🚂💨💫
Thank you so much mate and I really appreciate you taking the time out to watch the video and obviously you appreciate what Fred did and you can relate to him in way. He was very inspirational and inspired a generation. I’m so great full you watched the video especially all the way over in the states! Amazing! Thanks so much ⭐️ 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

I don't understand while Britain has such a big housing shortage, they don't convert these abandoned mills into new homes, while saving the character of these buildings…
Well made video, love to see a young generation paying the respect to Fred and his work👍
Thank you so much for the comment Danny! I really do appreciate it !

I love this tribute to the great man. Brilliant job. Thank you
Wow what a great video i was expecting a older guy to be doing this but what a insperation to see a much younger guy telling his story is cool.Fred was such a hero and upstanding person. I met Fred many years ago at a steam rally in stoke on trent and shcok his oily hands (which did'nt matter) had pint of guiness with him and got his autograph too!!! You are wondeful human being to bring this to the masses Thank you so much Dave

So going to try again I had a notification and clicked on the bell icon, wrote my reply but couldnt post it. Any way now on the comments section of the video. Mate I do have a lot of fond memories of Fred, when I did meet Fred I just couldnt believe it I was in awe, He had a certain glow about him i could have talked for ages with him, but the steam rally was closing so that was it. any how i asked Fred if he was doing any more tv programmes he said he was in the middle of a 12 part series ( little did I know he had cancer) the series was excellent as always with Fred at the helm Its called Made in Britain where ( no real spoiler alerts) where Fred and his long standing friend go round Britain looking at old engineering techniques from a by gone era, well worth a watch mate take care and keep up the good work :) Dave

Did y’ like that? Stunning Mr. 🐒, truly wonderful Film. Fred meant so much to the people of Lancashire and of course the whole country. His gift was truly amazing. Be rightly proud of what you have created (again) Anthony my Friend it’s a beautifully crafted, well written and produced Film, I can’t seem to call it a Vlog etc.. it’s more than that mate. Thank you for you obvious hard work on this.
Thank you so much paddy. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, what a man he was. He was truly an inspiration and the word legend is thrown around too much these days, but he definitely was. Thanks for the kind words and take care mate ⭐️🚂💨
Thank You...

Robert.
