I would like to say thank you, to the lady who wrote to John, because in doing so, she prompted the content of this video, which was an absolute honour to witness. ❤
Jesus tells us what to expect when we are following Him as the Master, we the student shall become more like Him and shall know suffering in this world. We have an inward change of citizenship when we are born again in Christ (spiritual life). We are not to compromise our faith and deny Jesus but we also need to learn when we need to keep silent and also when we need to shake the dust off our feet and move on. Jesus tells us to walk in the Spirit and deny the flesh.
Love your response to this letter. You just keep it simple and loving. Bringing it all back to Jesus. Oh John Thank you for letting us hear you laugh even when reading such a letter. Laughing and spreading LOVE!!!
John, don’t you believe in evangelism? You criticise the woman for talking about Christianity and say it’s better to keep your mouth shut .. but aren’t Christians told to spread the Word ?
I really love your honesty, John Butler! Thank you for not being afraid to say directly what you mean and at the same time explaining the core of your own faith! «The only rule in the Christian faith is freedom!» - Wonderful!
I enjoyed this. We all complicate things way to much. There is a saying ‘the only thing in my way is me’ . The best thing we can do for ourselves and therefore the world around us is to get out of the way, allow that presence in, take time to pause and tune in. I love John’s common sense approach, it’s supposed to be simple and natural because it is who we are. Reality is not the stories in our heads it simply just is, it is just this moment, I am is all there really is. You look well John, Phil I hope you’re well too. I will definitely be back to Bakewell at some point. God bless.
Dear John, Thank you for this video. Hearing you speak of being surrounded with the beauty of the earth resonates with me very much. I believe it is my own love of creation that brings me nearer to God/Spirit whenever i am surrounded by it. I love the way you speak of yourself as a "country" boy too! Thank you again for your encouragement & wisdom thru these video's. God bless.

Hi Mr. Butler, I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. I’ve been watching for about a year now. I can tell that you have some mixed feelings about doing this, it seems like most questions can be answered by just being still and listening, and I can see that you want to say “have you all been listening to anything I say?” But I really enjoy hearing your voice and getting to know you, so thank you.
Mr. Butler, thank you so much for your kind and wise way. I enjoyed this video so much. I wished more people were more like you. You are a wonderful role model!
that movie really helped me to understand something but I think it's a little risky to advise it cause it's a little hard to handle and can be disappointing if heavier than one can carry
I respect you so much, because you remind me of Imam Ali (PBUH. Imam Ali was Prophet Muhammad’s son in law and cousin), when he said: “our enemies are not the Jews or Christians, our enemy is our own ignorance.” I am a Shia Muslim, and I admire you very much, for you are a true believer and servant of God almighty. May peace be upon you.
The more I study and reflect on the teachings of Christ the more I get turned off by religion and its rules and regulations. "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" - Matthew 11:28-30.
The fact that you are scared of these questions reassures me that it's normal and natural reaction, and helps me to let go of the ideal of meditation to not get lost in that idea of meditation or presence instead of BEING present . The more questions, the bigger the fear. Feet on the ground, Listen and look. Observing you, is a blessing. Thank you for your courage.
I’m not a spiritual person and not a huge believer, but I love watching John’s videos. They help me get the point of view of different religions and they’re very welcoming and calming. Thank you John! 🥰
I agree, John. I used to put Jesus in a box with all of these laws and I also used to judge others who did not believe as I do but I was wrong to do that. Jesus said and I’m not sure if I’m quoting Him accurately, but much like this, “I have come not to condemn the law but to fulfill it”. I believe, as I believe you do, that Jesus is in all of creation, and we are none of us any better than another, just as all of creation is just as special. We all come from God and none of us are any closer to the truth than the other. Our souls are saved by grace and not by our own doing. We must be humble and therefor kind to one another. We must come to the realization that we are all of the Spirit, which is God and to Him we should return. God bless you, my friend.
I'm a former fundamentalist Christian. It was with profound difficulty that I extricated myself from this mindset. You know God is in you and expressing himself through you in some way every day regardless of your religion or sin. This God, pure love, could not be a fundamentalist by definition.
Wonderful reaction to a sad and restricted view of the Divine. Brought across with humor and love and so much truth. It would be so wonderful if all Christians had John´s insight.
I love your brutal honesty, John. People these days can't stand to hear the truth. They'd rather see the world through rose tinted glasses but the world just isn't like that. Accept the world for what it is, accept that it's not perfect, accept that we're not perfect and spend time working on ourselves, enlightening ourselves. It's easier to face the darkness of the world every day than coming down from years of denial.
Thank you John and Phil, as always. I have a situation for consideration. As of late, I am harbouring increasing amounts of anger. In particular, I find myself getting upset or angry with other people and it is causing me to lose control of my composure and emotions. This anger, in turn, is negatively affecting my general disposition and increasing my feelings of unhappiness and depression. I would appreciate any thoughts or wisdom you have on managing anger "in the moment" or letting go of anger in general. Many thanks!
Hi, obv I'm not John, but can I suggest something? It helps me though I don't know if it will help you or not. What I do, is I spend time every day, recording my thoughts and feelings onto a Dictaphone, and this helps me to work through my emotions. You could write a journal if you prefer. I also find that running regularly helps a lot, although brisk walking is very effective too. I find the Dictaphone enables me to release the negative thoughts/emotions, and I usually feel more peaceful and balanced after.
@@The_New_Abnormal_World_Order Thank you for the suggestions/personal experience. I have never been very good at keeping to a journal for anything longer than a few days at a time.
