Fitting A New Engine (EJ21) - Subaru Legacy GTB Project - Initial b

- A lot happens in this video - Episode 3 - Rebuilding a Legacy!
The EJ21 engine is back (from rebuild and forge), and so I have to get it ready to go into the engine bay. This includes:
- Fitting the manifold
- Fitting a new oil filter
- Fitting the intake
- Fitting the turbo
- Dropping the engine in
- Connecting the engine to the gearbox and exhaust system
- Front mounted intercooler fitted
But will it start, and if so how will it run?
Great to see this car back running again, fair play. Just imported a white Gen 4 estate and cannot wait to get it on the road. Keep the updates coming.

Well done mate, can't wait to get mine running. I've only recently sourced a rebuilt rev D engine to go into my rev C legacy. Will be swapping the crank pulley, sensors and intake manifold etc Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

Hell yea been thinking about ej20 swapping my 03 legacy l. All the models in America lack badly in power.
The 03 legacy is such a nice car! Some power would make it a superb all rounder
Does the clutch work ?? Cause you have the release bearing in the wrong way around, this is a pull type clutch.
Yeah your absolutely right there. I luckily did notice and swapped it round. I’ve clearly forgotten my error during the editing though haha
LOL......yeah it was running like shit when you started it because of alllllllll the other times you tried to start it, the ecu kept sending fuel and you flooded your combustion cylinder FULL of Fuel.
Annoyingly so. Runs like a dream now
@@InitialB glad you got it all sorted....enjoy it.....Yeah I had some bad experience with subarus thru bad mechanics....but to be fair it was always those un foreseen problems that get ya in the end

Hi mate. I don’t, it’s a simple enough job but I have no idea about the airbag wiring. If I ever can afford a new wheel I’ll do one!
Hi mate, is your front mount kit for a classic or newage? Any chance of a link?
I used the japspeed MVT front mount from a newage, in reality it’s abit low. But works nicely.

Yeah this is the new engine. The engine cost around 6000
@@InitialB what have you got done to it ? any forged rods or pistons ?
@@jmoore9806 , yeah it’s nitrided 2.5 crank, forged rods, RCM forged pistons, closed deck block, solid lifter conversion, single turbo etc . Standalone ecu. A fair amount of work so far
