Starfield - Falling through the floor of a ship as it takes off

I was in the bay of a ship when it took off. I fell through the floor along with the bodies. I suppose Bethesda has experience with Fallout. Is this common? Usually they don't take off like that.
I reloaded and Sarah jumped in right as it was taking off, I didn't see her fall out, but she respawned later.
This happened on the moon Shorun orbiting Lumos in the Valo system.
