Frances Bergen (Candice's mom) did indeed have a real Southern drawl. She was a model and actress from Birmingham, Alabama. Not known professionally as a singer, she did a splendid job here.
Is this the show where Rosemary sings "Seems Like Old Times" where she's in a "pretend" radio studio sipping coffee at the end of the tune? I think her guest on that show was Francis Bergen - and Matt Dennis too.
Scott Miller: This is a great performance, but a lot of what was "normal" in 1957 was not commendable, such as discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age and disability.
