Captive To No Ism || The Supremacy of Christ

We must remain captive to Christ alone. Once we surrender to an ism-conservatism, progressivism, or whatever ism-it pushes us toward the absurd and cruel edges. This is not middle-of-the-road-ism but radical allegiance to Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. At any given moment our Christ-informed position might look conservative or progressive or whatever, but there is no allegiance to an ism, only allegiance to Jesus Christ.

I've watched this twice and find it infinitely valuable. I am going to share it with the people of my life. Include with those deisms the politics of conspiracy theories - the adherents of those beliefs telling us over and over how wrong we are - even when we stand up in love for the way of Jesus. I suppose those conservative evangelicals would find some fault with this teaching (somehow). I can hear them saying: "Look - he's wearing a leather jacket in church! I won't listen to anyone who can't wear a suit to church!" Would they listen?
