  • The Middle Ages were a challenging period for women, marked by distrust and disdain from the church. Women's roles were largely confined to submissiveness, first to their fathers and then to their husbands. Regardless of their status-whether queens, abbesses, or commoners-women had minimal influence over society.
The Middle Ages, often referred to as the Dark Ages, were indeed grim for many reasons. The lack of modern amenities like medicine, antibiotics, laws, technology, and running water would be unappealing to us today. This era, spanning from the 5th century to the late 15th century, bridged the gap between the fall of the Roman Empire and the dawn of the Renaissance.

in medieval times, I would much rather had a midwife. Take care of me than a “trained doctor” back in those days those train doctors did crazy stuff.
