I just order 1 today for my OutcastExb8s build. I've been so up in the air on what I wanted too run in my build. I have Hobbywing Max5 1650kv in my Kratonexb6s build and it's great. But I really wanted to set my OutcastExb8s I little different. Spectrum is the way I'm going. So I will be coming back to this great video to help with my set up. Thank you for literally dumbing this down. Loving your channel. 👍🏻🤘🏻🍻
BEST R/C PURCHASE EVAR. Really though I got back into the hobby last year and aquired a half-dozen different controllers immediately. The manual is clutch -RTFM! RTFM! RTFM!
I've been wanting this transmitter for a very long time, I'm finally in a spot where I can pull the trigger, so to speak, so excited! ty! for reviewing this glorious transmitter! I love the green!
I just picked up the orange one today and a RS515 reciever for 350 NZD all up or 980 MYR as an expat Aussie in Malaysia I love the prices here thanks for the informative video
Very disappointed in my spectrum, I have losi five T 2.0 come with the receiver. So o purchase the DX5 when I bind it to full brakes and aux to kill the motor it will work for like 1 or 2 days then I have to rebind.. when rebinding, it will take 4 times, if I bind with no safety it works ok. But I'm guessing it part of killer rc kill switch, but really don't like spectrum to many interfaces
@@Losi5t20 Hi Neil! Do you have something plugged into the bind port that could be causing the receiver to cause it to think there is a bind plug installed? Also what receiver is it? Good feedback on your experience and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts! Hopefully with time you find the interface easier to use.
@SpektrumRC Hello! We enjoyed making this video and can’t wait to use the radio more. The green is so nice as well 😍 It will be perfect for Joe when he goes back to Hong Kong .. So he can film and drive at the same time 😃 Have a great weekend! Thank you for commenting 🍻😊 -Amber
Great content guys. Very entertaining. I didn't care for the first edition of this radio..The interface of this radio drove me nuts. Changed to Flysky nb4 Noble.
The intro! Wow! You guys are undoubtably the best rc channel on UA-cam. You got the best filming and editing by far, and some of these guys are rocking millions of subs, you should be proud of this one 😁 Holy hell $240 it better drive my car for me! Jokes aside it does have some awesome features 🤷🏼♂️
Ive had this controller for a while, binded most of my cars to it, havent needed to use a bind plug just press the button on the reciever and bind, hated using the bind plug lol half the time you could never find it 😅
Great intro, so true! Excellent video, very informative and great production quality. I think this will make a great Christmas gift for my son, it'll be a good upgrade over the one that came with his LMT. Thanks for the video and you're one of the best rc channels on UA-cam.
Thank you so much, SkiDog74!! Happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. Joe does a great job with the video production and he is very good at explaining things 😊 It would be a great upgrade for sure 😊 That means a lot to us! Thank you 🙏🏽🤩🙌🏼
You can delete the number and use the entire line to name each vehicle. It will give you space for up to 10 characters. Time to get back to the video 👊👊👍👍
I'm wondering if you actually need a bind plug for this vehicle. I've seen in other videos people binding the DX5 transmitter to newer Spektrum receivers without using a bind plug. I would assume the Losi Lasernut would fall into that category. I've got a Losi DBXL-e 2.0 and I've just ordered the DX5 Rugged and was wondering if I need a binding plug and where to get one but based on what I've seen in other videos you can bind the receiver without a binding plug. BTW thanks for the great video it will be invaluable when binding and setting up the DX5!
Do you know if you need to use spektrum smart lipos to acess all the features of the radio. Like if I use the spektrum esc and motor, but no smart lipos, do I get acess to stuff like motor temp?
Hello there.. I have this controller for my crawler RC cars and it's to fast in reverse, can you help please..only been into RC for a year so it's still a bit new to me basically it's to fast in reverse which is not to clever when you're on the rocks and boulders...any advice would be great... thanks for your time Dave..
Great video and great review as always. I'm still on the fence with all this smart technology. Its all seems great and I'm sure it is but for people on a budget Spektrum are quite expensive but I do appreciate what they are doing..
Thank you so much, Scott! Let us know if you decide to go for something with the smart technology, would love to know your thoughts. We really like the products we have 😊
Actually with the latest DSMR protocol range is outstanding, I imagine your experience was with DSM. Also a big factor with range is how the antenna is positioned in the model. Make sure the antenna is not damaged and is sticking up and away from the chassis.
Excellent vid guys, Running through the features and programming will certainly help more RC'ers thinking about the DX5C go out and buy them. I use spektrum radios in nearly all my aircraft and my Felony, only went Open TX for a 14 channel MiG-29 Twin EDF with thrust vectoring. Love Spektrum as they are so much easier to program than most other manufacturers. They feel nicer than most other radios too in the hand. You guys are hitting it out of the park!!! Flysky noble NB4 is an awesome radio! One we love using too. The reason you may opt for the DX5 Rugged is because its a tougher radio, and binds up with most of your horizon rtr rc's which means you dont need to go buy the rx for the nb4 saving on cost abit there. I would say NB4 leans more towards racers, dx5 rugged more towards bashers and on the trail. Cheers! 🍻
I almost want to buy this only for the feature to mount my GoPro. Not a fan of spektrum though but …. What’s the range on these ? Are they good for speed runs?

I'd love to have one,but I can't see spending as much money for a controller as you can buy alot of rc cars for. You guys are lucky to get stuff for free.
Do they really have to make them as ugly as possible? Mind you, I paid $70 dollars LESS for my Noble NB4 with 2 receivers... (Had a 20% off on first purchase on banggood lol)

Can it bind to other receivers other than spectrum? And can you have multiple remote bound to a single receiver?
Can you bind more than 1 Rc to the spectrum rugged transmitter and do you have to have a certsin spectrum reciever?
So with this controller can you mess around with the servo voltage for example can I make my servo go from 4.8v too 6.0v ?
I have on more question: Min. 13:13 what I have to buy to get the information about the Akku, im Smart modus ??
Will I need to buy receiver for each car or can I keep my original receivers
